I know.....its like the strangest kinda sick song I have ever heard...bhangi was a derogatory term used for janitors in pre-independence india.

Anyone remember the creappy twin songs

Jumma Chumma De De and Tamma Tamma Lo-Gay

Jumma Chumma De De was one of the most popular songs in its times, perhaps rivalled only by Tamma Tamma Lo-Gay. The former composed by LP. Tamma Tamma Lo-Gay was composed by Bappi da.

When the music of these movies was released, both camps alleged that the other had stolen their music. I am sure we all know the truth about getting inspired. A lot of people called these songs cheap, because of their lyrics and picturisation. We Indians were not supposed to ask for kisses in such a brazen manner in those days. Nobody really knew what Tamma Tamma meant, but it was labelled cheap anyway. And no, the "Gay" in "Lo-Gay" had nothing to do with that.
