ANuragji, if you are who you claim you are, just remember that several of us here are classically trained and given performances in India and America and trained under good gurus. That does not make you a good judge, necessarily. I completely disagree with your analysis. I definitely think you are listening to these songs with an unconscious bias towards Debojit. I think Hemachandra and NIhira are definitely the top. I cannot believe you would give a 10 to Debojit. It is ridiculous. Please dont use your personal profile to make ridiculous judgements and comments.
I hope you are not judging any competitions here, if you are who you claim you are

'Dil Chahta hai', 'Ramta jogi' and 'Pehla pehla pyaar hai' by Hemachandra are missed out. I felt his 'Dil Chahta Hai' solo was quite a powerful performance.

Great effort though, thanks Anurag.

there is no question harsh is trained, and people including me do respect that. i question "by my experience" phrase. what's this experience and how much is it?

i don't dispute we should look at technicality when judging singers. but i question putting number on every aspect of it and taking average. that's plain silly in a subjective field like music.

i agree that a judge should not play favorites, but i disagree with the notion that the effect of a song should be ignored as judge. technically pure aaroh/avaroh/taan #1/taan #2 etc. could be brilliant. but hat matters is the net effect.

i also should mention that i find it ludicrous when they praise somebody as tune bahut dil se gaayaa even if they made technical mistakes.

it should be combination of both.

if you could post maybe a breakdown analysis of a song from each of the contestants, that might give an idea of how the scores were reached? but i think that would take some time...! thank you for your analysis 😊

Last I know I never heard any song from him. 😆 😆 😆

Without disrespecing any classical singer, I would like to say that they don't make good playback (popular) singer...that is what 95% of public wants...

👏

i agree pt hariprasad chaurasiya and pt shivaprasad sharma would base their fair judgments on technicality. but i am sure they take overall effect into account as well. debojit -- one of my favorite contestants -- failed in that respect when he left several taans incomplete (couple times besuraa) in an effort to take each and every taan. "idam cha naasti param na labhyate".

i don't quite get the point the part on sense-of-sound-and-sense-of-sight is trying to drive.

i am surprised pt rajan-sajan mishra wouldn't allow their shisHyaa sing for movies. they themselves have done so. maybe she is still under training.

it will be foolish to say harsh does not sing well. but he certainly does not remind of pt bhimsen joshi. even harsh would agree with that.

here we have a funny notion about respecting other people's views? how does questioning viability of somebody's views mean disrespect? our ancestors were much wiser in that respect, i must say. upanisHads are full of Q&As. at the end of giitaa, kRsHNa tells arjun, i have told you whatever i knew. not it's for you to think and take action. even he didn't ask arjun to take his word as absolute truth.

i agree again. also harsh himself is not authority on pronounciation himself. i wonder how effective a pronounciation judge he could be.
