It is interesting to note that after HDDCS actually ID got offer for more than 32 movies still he refused them because he wanted to focus on Subhash Ghai's project KISNA.

It is well known that ID takes atleast 5-10 days to record ONE song, Jatin Pandit is known to be a tough task master and he made Kavitaji do more than 10 retakes when song ye dil sun raha hai was being recorded.
Probably quality & quantity don't go hand in hand.
One big name which leaps to my mind is Salil Chaudhary who has not given music in more than 20 Hindi fims( though he was a big name in Bengal music industry) but is counted in the league of genius, infact most of the music premis hold opinion that his songs should be given to the finalists to test them.
There are other HUGE names like Shiv_Hari, Ravindra Jain, Khayyam: who depite having worked in less no. of films are counted as brilliant. Having said this I don't want to take away credit from giants like RD Burman, Laxmikant Pyarelal & Illaiya Raja who have done massive no. of scores & have maintained very good quality.
May I mention one name whom Im observing closely: he is Kartik Raja (son of Illaiya Raja), though he has done only few Hindi movies like Grahan, 16 December, Ive huge expectations from him. I hope he gets a lot of beaks like ARR.

getting more movies doesn't necessarily mean good quality. usually quantity and quality don't go hand-in-hand as yo usaid with the exceptions like c. ramachandra, r d burman, laxmikant-pyarelal etc. when they were at the peak of their careers.

i would like to add jaidev and sajjad hussein to the list of the MD's that didn't do great many films but are considered genius. i like rajesh roshan too, but i don't think he was ever had too many offers at any time.

Wow did not about so many movie offers for ID Sinha sahab, which songs in Kisna did he compose?
