Thank you all for sharing your thoughts on the article. It is indeed heartening to see that the average Indian soul is still pure, upright, and secular.

I would specially thank adwarakanath-ji annd seema_17 for their awesome insights.

My choice for "India ki voice" would have been Nihira. Sadly she is no more in the show. Hema was my next best choice as I truly believe he is blessed with a wonderful cinematic voice...and an original one. And Debo my third choice.

However, given the events that has happened in the past 3 weeks, my heart has changed. The pre-requisite for a good artiste is a good soul, respect for other co-artiste, and humility (Udit Narayan for instance). I disliked when Hema joined Vinit and Himani and announced to stage a walk-out. Somehow I lost some amount of respect.

I had a neutral stance on Vinit till I found that arrogance has overtaken him. Even if he wins this competition by hook or crook, he is not going to make it to the top with this kind of attitude. Himesh keeps on telling about his 'sanskar'. I would have expected that his parents slap him for such behavior against Debo if they had instilled any so-called 'sanskar' in them.

It takes a lot of courage, self-belief, determination to go on (and forgive and forget) after the way he was treated by his co-participants and opponent mentors.

I salute you Debo. You are true philosopher at heart. Tears roll down my eyes to see that your being from NE and getting support from your area has become an issue (ignited by shallow minds) to humiliate you, in the show that is watched internationally.

Go ahead Debo...the common man is still upright (this post is a case in point)...the common man's soul can still decipher between what is right and wrong. You are a good human being and hence the true face of India.

You have shown how to forgive and forget and go along with life with a postive attitude...how to behave...in a sense, you are the true 'Indian Idol'.

Once again, I salute you Debo. May God bless you always.

You want to know why you people ignored this post? I'll tel you.

You people are AFRAID to accept the truth. You know this is true, and you'll lose face if you accept it. You know if you try to post anything here, you'll be blatantly exposed and humiliated. You know you have no arguments to give.
Mr. Mahesh is the editor of Outlook. Do you know what that means? It means he has a brain your half-cooked sugarcoated brains cannot dream of matching. When he says Vinit sings bad, it means he sings bad. Period.
Accept the fact that -

1) Debojit defeated Vinit in Fame2005.
2) In the prelim rounds, when contestants had to be chosen for the Agnipariksha, Vinit and Debo sang together, and Vinit got a yellow, Debo got a green

You won't see this, because your eyes are clouded by fluff. Fluff called Love, Maa, Topi, Glamour. You people are hell bent upon dividing India. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

If you try using that thing called 'Brain', then you'll see that even if Debojit got less PERCENTAGE of votes from rest of india, his TALLY of NUMBER OF VOTES was HIGHER than the others. Why doesn't that little fact fit into your heads? 😡

Abhi, I generally like your posts and once in a blue moon disagree as well. But this one of yours really did it !!! This was a brilliant post.

I wish the remaning kids out here pick up few bits and pieces of your sense and sensibility.

Guys (Vinit fans) ... being a fan is one thing but being blind to the truth and bringing out regional issues and trying to divide India is simply not done !!!

😉 😉 😉

That would be simple sm_79. Just google on posts by Martians. I'm sure realmusic resides in Mars !!! Scientific evidences clearly point out that Martians tend to think that everything is fair (no extremism and communal backbones) exist in other parts of India save the North-East.

Yes, ticks, this is disturbing.

All the while Himesh and Aadesh and their disciples were trying to give an impression that ULFA was backing Debojit, and that they were scared. All bullshit! I liked what Debo replied Sifychat (that if that was so he would not have to struggle for so many years in Mumbai to get some chance in the music industry).

I wonder how low they can stoop and disrespect the sentiment of the people in the Northeast. NE has given us stalwarts like our adorable Sachin Dev Burman, RD Burman (whom all modern day composers swear by...infact many earn their living from him!!!), and Bhupen Hazarika. And, why can't Assam's son become "India Ki Voice"?

Himesh, Aadesh has brought great disrepute to music by bringing up the regionalism issue.

And as long as we have people like bangboy and BitrSweetTruth to support their causes, there's little hope that we can bring NE into mainstream affairs, and not let them feel alienated. Grow up...and acknowledge the talents from NE...they are very much a part of the Indian soul.

Well said! and to add to your list - Kishore Kumar, Manna Dey, Hemant De and Shaan himself - so many voices from the Northeast. These are voices that became timeless and ARE India ki voice. Just because people like HR churn out clones of middle eastern club music does not make them india ki Voice - sorry HR fans!

Fabone I know u r trying to b supportive of this post n its thoughts...but plz get ur facts right.....NE n East r not the same....NE India has 7 states.... n all the singers u mentioned r from Bengal...which is considered as state of Eastern India.....

But above all, like u said, they are the voices that has enthralled each n every Indian not just in all parts of India but also outside our country!!

No offense meant,ok?!😊

I do not understand why all this drama. When the show started every one kew how the contestants will be eliminated. Every one also know that finally only one will be left. Though the last five singers were very good and only a very diserning and competent musician can say who is better than the other. When we leave the fate to the general public, then we can not talk about good or bad. There is bound to be biases, rigging but that is what we accepted to begin with and there is no point in asking to change the rules of the game in the middle of the game. Let us leave the decision to public and the one who gets the higher numbers of votes win. It should not matter as to from which part of the vote comes from
