These posting are crazy. The outrage over public voting should have
started when Swaananda and Sharib were voted out while Rajiv stayed in.
At this point, any one of these candidates could be a winner.

What is a bathroom state? i think someone called writer posted
something like that? I did not understand the remark but if someone is
suggesting that only Hindi/Punjabi speaking states are allowed to have a
voice then perhaps he should leave India and find an Island and gather
like minded people to live there.

The Northeast has provided India with countless singers and musicians
over the years. Also Debo is a Bengali and I think anyone with any
musical sense would know the contributions of Bengalis to the music and
film industry in the past, present and future.

PS -- Internet voting does not appear to count as it is NEVER mentioned
in the stats. How would internet voting count from one state anyway? If
the Assamese fans could manipulate the system, why would there be a
trace that the votes are from Assam? For God's sakes think before you
make accusations.

Those kids are 17 and probably some adult orchestrated this walk out but
to suggest that there were anything good about it. Shame on you all! It is
people like you who constantly try to divide India ultimately cause the
infighting and domestic violence in an otherwise thriving country. Maybe
all of you are 17 as well and I should just excuse you.

Please read the article below FYI.

A voice from Assam can be the voice of India as much as a voice from
Delhi or Mumbai or Chennai

TV these days is so full of low-quality drama that I've given up watching
it. A saas or a bahu occasionally registers fleetingly on my TV screen and
my consciousness.

Apart from that there are those equally interminable 'talent hunts'. These
compete with WWE in their style of building up rivalries and contests.
Singers deliver dialogues in the manner of Batista meeting John Cena.

It's all too melodramatic to bear, but apparently it works with most of my
country cousins. Now one of these shows, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa on Zee TV, has
finally neared its finale. The mode of selection of these contestants was
mainly by viewers poll on phone and SMS.

The first contestant who made it to the round of three is Debojit from
Assam. He suddenly found himself facing a rebellion from his fellow-
contestants, who threatened to walk out of the event without explicitly
stating why. I would have changed the channel at all this natak but a
statement by one of the 'mentors' in the show stopped me.

Debojit got 80 percent of his votes from Assam, Adesh Shrivastava said.
"We want a voice of India, not a voice of Assam", someone in the studio
shouted. Fair enough. Except that, firstly, the fellow had polled more
votes than other prospective 'voices of India', and secondly, Assam is still
despite its several insurgencies a part of India.

A voice from Assam can be the voice of India as much as a voice from
Delhi or Mumbai or Chennai. For the past few centuries, the West has
dominated the world. So their perceptions of what is 'mainstream' have
come to dominate globally.

Today we all speak English, listen to pop and rock, pride ourselves on our
knowledge of Hollywood and European soccer, and of course dress in
jeans and skirts and such likes. However, the point to note is that the
average college or school student in America doesn't know Hindi, or
listen to Indian music, or follow cricket, or know who Amitabh Bachchan
is.

When Big B was voted the greatest star of stage or screen in a BBC online
poll in 1999, there was considerable consternation in the West. The thing
that went around then was that India, with its huge population, had voted
for Big B and so he won there was no way he could be better than the
best of the West.

Which may be true. If the world accepts the definition of what is 'good'
cinema. Unfortunately, for me, a song from Chhote Miyan Bade Miyan is
better cinema than an hour of Gone With the Wind simply because I enjoy
it more. So there are these disparities in the world.

The artists will treat non-artists as charlatans if we try their game. The
West will be miffed if our man wins a global award over their icons. Their
sense of domination will get jolted. Now think of how the 'centre' treats
the periphery in India. If you don't speak Hindi, don't listen to Bollywood
music, don't care about cricket, you're an outsider already.

If on top of that you look different say, Mongoloid your status as second-
class citizen is almost confirmed. That's the way life is for many people
from the Northeast who come to 'mainland India'.

They can either become duplicates of the 'mainstream' people or stay in
their ghettoes. And even if they do adopt 'mainstream' ways, the story
doesn't always end happily.

Like Debojit, for example, who sings in Hindi, but must now contend with
the fact that his support base is from the Northeast and not the cow belt,
which is the 'mainstream' merely because it sends more crooks to
Parliament.

debo sang absolutely brilliant the other day during the gazal round but the opposing mentors showed their partial mentality by giving him only 7 and 6 .This was totally unfair on their part .The people of India saw that he sang well and voted for him.

THe whole walkout incident was instigated by Himani since she knew that she would be getting out next.
She was banking on Debo goin going out but seeing that he got the highest votes she then led the others on stage 2 walkout.

Throughout the challenge 2005 series Ismial Darbar has been an ideal mentor praising anyone who sings well even if they werent from his gharana. But the other mentors have always shown partiality towards their gharana members

They react moment they felt that one of them was getting affected. Very convenient. When Nihira got out with 14% votes and Vinit got 31% it was perfect for them since their competitor is going out so why rebel.

if people of Assam vote more for their contestants we cannot really help it. The rest of the people in India should vote more to their respective contestants so that results are appropriate. The producers of the show promoted regionalism saying who gets votes from which region.

I would have admired their guts if they would have complained of the voting system once the first person was out and asked for a judge...that time Vinit was on the top so why complain. Moment he realised that someone else is close and his so called crown is under siege ...it is not fair.

I would forgive them for their age and inexperience and hoping they will mature over time.

Ur exactly correct...when they know that there was multiple voting and there was always a chance of regionalism...why the hell did they chose to come to this challenge....they dint have any other talent hunt? Bloody naatak bazis they r...and i say it again...they r egoistic and arrogant😡

I don't think it was fair for the 3 of them to walk out...i think vinit's ego was a little hurt when he didn't receive the highest number of votes as he's used to...his confidence level had gotten a bit too high by being the highest vote gainer quite a few times....as for the 3 of them planning this the day before i think it was referring to the fact that if any one of them was going to go out all 3 would threaten to quit...obviously someone is behind all this and is pushing them to do such things...who is the culprit is the question that still remains...thus far ID has been the most honest mentor praising anyone and everyone who sang well...he gave vinit his precious 50 rs. note...i don't really see any of the other mentors doing such things...as far as Debo's voting is considered i don't see the big deal if he did get the highest votes...so the public liked him and his people supported him....is it really his fault? was it really fair for him to have to go through that? at least he was the bigger person and has forgiven them for their actions calling them his younger siblings...i think he deserves props for that!

I admire the 3 young kids for daring to talk about the walkout. They correctly diagnised the problem with the show and let everyone know that the SareGama which everyone loves is being killed mindlessly by petty regionalism, cheap emotional displays and such. Instead of criticizing the kids, the show producers must immediately take corrective action so that only true musical talent wins.

Thanks

Debo just does not deserve to be in the final five. It is petty regionalism, mentor moodiness (walkout drama), etc which has propelled him even if it is without his direct involvement. However, he is guilty of playing up too much on emotion rather than focus on singing correctly. Every time he will make a big mistake (go besura) and then give an excuse that it was a hard song.

Himani is clearly the number one talent on SareGaMa.

If SareGaMa is to even get back some of its old sheen back, Debo needs to be out immediately and with a poor score to boot. Singing and talent should be the only criteria. I blame the Show Producers, the channel, HR and lately ID for disturbing the concept and balance oif the show. They made it a fishmarket affair.

This is not a place for music, musicians or music lovers.

Regards

Are you sure? Do they themselves think this to be defensible? Himani apologized profusely for that, Vineet and Hema's parents apologized for this

Choose one

1. Debo does not deserve to be in the final three say you, I say Vineet does not deserve to be in the final three or Hema does not deserve to be in the final three, it is a matter of opinion

2. Saregamapa designed rules for public voting, You complain about regional votes, the same mentors/contestants stood on the crutches of regionalism, Himani specifically was asking/begging for votes from NCR for being a girl, HR on behalf of Vineet for his Love story/Ma ka Pyar. Hema's parents shelled out 2 lac rupees to generate local support

Debo has been more effective than them, so the crybabies said foul play, and like a parrot their mentors took the cue, declaring Debo's Assamese brethren not to be a part of mainstream India(People/attitude like this give terrorist organization like ULFA/JKLF their propaganda material and innocent people lose their lives)

What courage do these kids have, they could not even articulate what was the reason they were walking out, they did not even have the guts to say why they were walking out, you are assuming they are walking out due to the fact that Debo was the highest, for all I know Himani/Hema/Debo had a brain cramp and decided to pull this stunt.

And I do agree with you that regionalism and public votes killed this program, and they should have pulled the plug on public voting way before

Unfortunately public voting means, different people have different tastes, and if you do not like your neighbours voting pattern then you are going to cry foul and he/she is going to cry foul when he/she does not like your voting pattern and you have to live with it

In other words

This is just my POV, you can have yours
