1. NE is a region of the country comprising of 7 states which is more than 4 states of south india from where the bulk of votes come for one of the walkouters.
2. bulk of vinit's vote came from his home state. not debojits fault that they could not match upto him.
3.all participants have appealed in their mother tongues. does one expect a punjabi to understand whatever "tappa konda....." means?
4.had it been qazi touqueer in place of debojit, would the others have walked out on the plea that he is getting more muslim votes?
5.if 80% votes from north east makes the contestants and their mentors go mad , why are they still staying in India whose prime minister is elected by 100% votes from Assam( not even north east!!)
6. if we north easterners are wrong in voting for debojit, is Reshamiya, Adesh right in giving 6 and 4'rs to debojit compared to 10 for others.

Dear Mr Surgeon

I appreciate your sentiments, but would like to say a few things. Certainly the walk-out by participants on the ground that Debojit was getting votes only from NorthEast does not make sense because all the other contenders are also getting votes on the basis of regionalism.

However, I don't understand why you are upset that Aadesh and Himesh gave Debojit 6 and 4. It is ENTIRELY their prrerogative not to like someone's voice. I myself don't like Debojit's voice (it's a different matter that I don't like Vinit either while Hemachandra is passable). Don't forget that Nihira used to consistently get 10 out of 10 from all the mentors, simply because no one could find a fault with her! Each of the mentors is fair when it comes to giving points, I feel, despite being keen that their own mentees should succeed.

I'm sorry if my post will offend anyone. My intention is not to offend anyone but this is how I feel. I believe there is some racism involved here. The people who do not like Ismail Darbar its because of their hatred for Muslim people. I have felt throughout the show Mr. Adesh and Mr. Himesh have also come across that way. Ismail Darbar is the only mentor who has always complimented everyone who has sang well. He is an extremely simple man with a very big heart. His simplicity is what gets the best of him. Have you ever seen him take a cheap shot at any other mentor? Now ask the same question about Adesh? He is always taking shots at Ismail Darbar. In an article about Mr. Adesh posted on webindia123.com he is quoted saying this: "His war cry 'YALGAAR', makes him sound like he is someone from Pakistan". Come on, I am a Pakistani and I feel so peaceful towards Indians. There are so many Pakistani's watching Zee TV in the US. We support shows like Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, thus the reasoning for us to subscribe to the Zee Network and pay for it on a monthly base. Its not about Muslim, Sikh or Hindu, its about all of us being DESI. We should be proud of one another instead of taking cheap shots at each other. If you would like to read this article please go to: http://news.webindia123.com/news/showdetails.asp?id=111513&a mp;cat=India . Once again, I do apologize if I offended anyone.

Dear Razzzed

YALGAAR HO is a war cry and whenever Ismail Darbar screamed it out, it sounded quite spine chilling. Aadesh Srivastav is not wrong when he says it sounds like some one from Pakistan. We have had wars with Pakistan before and still have border problems, cross-firing and so on. Whenever I heard "Yalgaar ho" , the image created in my mind was that of invaders coming on horses and slaughtering the masses in the manner of Mohd Ghazni and Ghori.

Not that I don't like Ismail Darbar. He is really cute in the way he gets upset and emotional about little things. He loves music from the core of his heart and his passion shows. He also has a great sense of humour.

For God's sake don't talk about hatred for Muslims. In the realm of music, there is no Hindu or Muslim. I wonder if you are aware that even Muslim musicians in India start with a prayer to Goddess Saraswati. Had there been hatred for Muslims among music-lovers, Mohd Rafi would not have reached the iconic status that he did. Nor Begum Akhtar, Amir Khan, Bade Ghulam Ali Khan and so on. Ravi Shankar's guru was Ustad Allaudin Khan, and in one interview, RS said that his guru knew more about the depth of Hindu culture than Ravi Shankar himself, and would remind him to follow certain customs and festivals!

Aadesh says in the interview that you have cited, that Ismail Darbar is extremely rude and that is true. We have ourselves seen how he would address his students and upbraid them mercilessly. Very rude, sarcastic and caustic. But frankly I really enjoyed watching the way he "ragged" his students before taking them close to his heart. That's his style.

However, if Ismail treated the other mentors in the same rude manner as Aadesh claims, it is not right. I won't support Ismail if he thinks his knowledge of classical music is more than others, especially Jatin Lalit who are the nephews of Pandit Jasraj. Ismail does need a course in good manners, even though he is a lovable person.

Coming back to the Hindu-Muslim issue you raised, I would like to say that Pakistanis watching Indian programmes might be always on the look-out for what they think is a bias against Muslims. This is not right. You have no idea about the free-thinking atmosphere prevalent in India, especially in the cultural field. A Hindu is free to convert to Islam and take on the name of A.R Rahman in our country. If Aadesh objects to Ismail's rudeness, don't take it to mean that he hates Muslims in genral. That's absurd!

This programme is designed to encourage regional voting to get more money. So it is the rule of the game. Everybody has acepted before starting the game. Everybody is getting vote like this. Hema is getting from south, Vinit is getting from north & Debo is getting from East. These three singers "Hema, Vinit, Hemani" made great mistake by leaving the show and they are most immatured for this show.
Also opponant mentor rating is bit partial specially Himesh & Adesh. Intead independant judge should rate.
I feel also Debo is the most suitable and matured singer. He is getting his due.
I have started voting Debo after this episode.

This author was paid by Aadesh to throw slur at Ismail Durbar, so far Ismail is the only mentor who supported all the contestants whole heartedly and frankly.

99% of the time Aadesh is biased towards his people, shame on Rediff for publishing this article and supporting this loser Aadesh Shrivastva.

All the 3 losers Himani, Vineet and Hema should be thrown out of the contest for playing such spoilsport and disturbing the program.

Shame on the author for writing such a biased article...

For all thise bringing Race, religion to this issue should be ashamed of themselves and take a walk in the park to clear their congested minds....

I am great fan of Himani and Hemchandra and from day one I have been voting for them. My second choice is definately Nihira and Vinit. I still cant believe Debojit is in and Nihira is out. There is definately politics in this. In Dubai we just saw the Kapil Dev's episode where Debojit gets 4 and 7 points and Nihira gets 9 points from both the mentors, then how can Nihira be out, it should be Debojit. I dont know why Gajendarji is not doing anything about it. I am sure some Political party is involved in Assam where they are paying people to vote for Debojit. Is this music or gambling???? DISGUSTING!!!!

A fan from Dubai.

First of All they should Stop Multiple Voting, if they really (Show Director/Zee) want good singer to be choosen as saregamapa VOICE. Second they should not allow (Director of the show) participants to ask for votes based on emotional issues like its my mothers Dream, its for my love etc etc. Most of the viwers are interested only in listening to some good music not their background or thier dreams or dramas. So please support GOOD singers.

Hi Vijay! HAve not seen the most recent episode ---but gathered the jist of it from the above comments; I really want to say something here --I wish the producers, Shaan and the "mentors" can read this----It is appaling the way the mentors have behaved!! esp Mr Ismail Darbari---what are they teaching the youth---and the contestants ---that WINNING is everything and if you don't you are a complete FAILURE?!!! They should know better --they are in this cut throat business also;Personally I feel that at this point all the contestants are equally good and should be encouraged and appreciated not reprimanded orrejected;THe only level headed mentor is Mr Srivastava; Mr HR---is a total jerk!! Knows how to get votes for his contestant;
Mr ID --proves himself to be a total uncouth and rude person---he calls it being emotional --I call it being PLAIN RUDE!!! 😡 I think Nihiras parents and Nihira herself proved to the public that they are cultured and graceful people; Mr ID needs to learn from them; SOmeone has to be voted out ---luck of draw; Yes the fact that it is regional is shameful---we are all Indians first; I agree with whoever stated that the public should not be allowed to vote anymore; THe contestants are stressed enough already;
THe 3 people walking off stage is in poor taste --but what do you expect when their MENTORS are setting a precedent;
I have to say --Debojit has been the most mature of all and a gentleman throughout ---he was yelled at by his rude mentor; was scolded for mentioning something about vsnl lines being busy; he still maintained his dignity and patience;

I am following Sa Re Ga Ma Pa for the past couple of years and very recently after watching the Challenge 2005 especially the things moving around Debojit, I noticed that this show has become a stupidity. A number of very good and talented singers have been eliminated, why because they are not begging votes because they belong to a particular region; because any of their relatives is not in this world. They were eliminated because they were talented and the judgement was in the hands of the public. I suggest that the big time music directors who are sitting in the show to judge them should or a specially constituted jury should decide the worth of the singers. Because only they can visualize the end result - whether the particular voice will be good for cinema, whether the singer is taking appropriate nods etc. The public who itself don't know about the music is allowed to choose the winner, in that case they will definitely not allow their emotions to overcome and vote for the singer who belongs to their state, language etc.

However, if the channel people or the sponsors are caring for the popularity of their show on the basis of more number of people and allow this stupidity to continue then shows like should be stopped immediately.

This show has let us down
