Did Nihira suffer because of wrong song? - Page 4

I admire and respect the (self proclaimed) Tansens out here, only problem is that they are in the wrong place.
Their judgement is great for examinations held in classical music schools, not in SRGM.

Hi..I dont post a lot(working student) but definitely read some of the posts and ofcourse without doubt Nihira has been my favourite. Yesterday I had an argument with my husband for hours coz he couldnt bear to see my face for the past 1 week since i came to know tht nihira has been ousted!! Our analysis...
--Dont know if ID knew tht nihira was going- but before the song started he said tht whoever sang tht song lost badly!!If he knew tht then why did he select tht song?
--The AV showed tht nihira couldnt dance!! I guess we keep forgetting that SAREGAMAPA isnt the same show tht it used to be. Its chnged ..How many singer of the previous SAREGAMAPAS were household names? How many of them have become famous without struggling still? But what abt this show? Even the one who arent in the top 12 are remembered by people- good singers or not? All this publicity, this fame comes at a cost and tht is what the show earned thru votes? Whats the difference between a singer like Rajeev who is an ordinary cook-operating a chinese thela in an obscure city in HP and learning to sing by listening to radio, and between Nihira who is from Bombay and has all the resources to sing and dance, and rajeev still managed to come in the top 10 just like the other good singer?
It showed nihira not learning to dance despite 6 months of living on the sets and still not attempting to learn dancing and hoping to win with a mike in a hand( my hubbys comment).Well basically its not a place for idealists like us..we need to understand that this show isnt the same and its not just singing but being a complete package that matters...like it or not 😭

As I was reading this topic, I have noticed that there were some morons who joined the discussion. I was amazed to see people with sadakchaap taste and with absolutely no taste of good music had the audacity 😡 😡 😡 to bad mouth the two most knowledgeable members (Sinha ji and adwarakanath) of this forum. My suggestion to these people are " When you need a dish antenna attached to your head to understand what they are saying then keep your stupid mouth shut. If you open your mouth on such occasions then it exposes you completely. It also proves your IQ level".

If I see anything like this again, I will not be polite anymore, even if I am suspended from the forum after that.

Yeh Kya Hai?? Bhai kyon itni dhamki?? Kya hum sab me akal nahi hai?? Sirf Nsinha and Adwarkanath hi music ke baare me likh sakte hai?? Shaayad hum musically trained nahi hai to kya? Dimaag or surile kaan to paye hain bhagwaan se. Itni hamari beizzati mat karo yaar!!

There is a full fledge democracy in world. In some country it their first amendment right to speak and write what they want to.

So ab patli gali pakad or satak.

I know you could very well belong to These 2 people's group threatening others. Let people voice there opinion. live and let live.

I agree nihir'a song was very tough and it was favorite song of ID ( not public).
Id fail to understand public taste. People who do voting is common people they needs emotional song easy to understand. this song choice was too high to entertain non-classical public

Time to return to sensible discussion.
A mentor's job is to help the contestant reach full potential, peak performance...and ID was trying to do exactly that with Nihira's sathi re, because she has that classical training.
He also did a great job of song selection for Debo ...while Jhumroo is not a classical number it showcased Debo's yodeling very well (proves that there's room for all kinds of songs, not just classical, but that's another story)...and then came Ai Zindagi. The difference is that Debo's songs had the mass appeal that Saathi lacked, though the latter is far more chalklenging and in a class of its own. I give Debo and ID top marks for song selection in that weeks performances.
