I know this is not relevant but I thought you could give me an answer...The other song that ID picked that day was Iliaraaja's composition. Could you direct me to which movie that was from? That song moved me as much as Saathi re did.

Infact i am very happy ID selected that song for nihira. that performance was a slap on the face of HR and AS who think their participants are the best. Didnt you see their shocked expressions during that song. Like sinhaji rightly said HR must have heard that song for the first time./

I am totally hooked to that song, i listen to it atleast 4-5 times a day, no exaggeration!! I have a feeling ID knew Nihira will be ousted and therefore gave her that song. Her staying in the show was probably not in his hands so he may have wanted her to leave with a " dhamakedar " performance. She shut everyone with that performance, and made them all feel guilty. With that performance she gave a message to gaddar gajji and his crooks that her being eliminated was "their loss not hers"

thankx mammu............

Sinhaji, again great write up. I agree totally, the song was fantastic, and Nihira was, as usual, tops. But the majority of people who use sms are college kids. Plus ,in general, as compared to the huge Indian population , there are only handful who would have really appreciated the song and Nihira's immortal singing that day.The common man who builds up the maximum group, failed to identify with the song.Ratio is completely unfavourable. As for ID ,he is a hopeless idealist.Very few composers base their songs on pure classical base. I remember, when LEKIN was released, it was like a fresh breath, and everybody startved for good music just snatched up every copy available. So good music is appreciated, but then this show is not about good music, it is about who is a bette marketeer.

I would also like to concur with you on one more point. Rd's songs were always from that semi classical mould, with terrific orchestration. A number of song which appear western are actually his most melodious lot. That is where he connected with masses as well as classess, which makes him universally popular. There were MDs who were equally great, but not popular with everyone.. Rd mastered this, that is being commercial along with being melodious. That is why he is simply the best.

I am 100% in agreement with u. In this competition all along selection of songs for the competitors played a very important role. And Nihira's exit shows the taste and trend of recent Hindi music. This was also the reason JL voted out.

Good Luck to all true Hindi Music Lovers!
