Hello,

I 'm an ardant fan of Sa re ga ma pa and has been watching this show for more than 3 years. I enjoy singing and hence never miss any of the episodes.

However of late this musical show is leaning towards being a reality show. I live in the US and have watched a lot of these shows.

I watch sa re ga ma pa for its musical quality and not for anything else.

Any comments ??

Sreehu

hi sreehu....
with all the tamasha they are doing on SAREGAMAPA by bringing some people from other shows(like hum paanch) and with the mentors having arguments with each other and with the judges...it's kind of losing its appeal....

i think the mentors arguing and fighting with the judges over judgements passed is nothing but hype....they create like in a reality show...just to make people glued to TV.....

but i think...SAREGAMAPA is better compared to other shows on tv.....and i love SAREGAMAPA no matter what :-)
my opinion.......:-)

I too think that SaReGaMaPa is beginning to slide a bit. There are many reality shows, but so far only one musical talent show, and that is SaReGaMa/Pa. But the way things are going there... fights and "hum paanch" tamasha etc, the producer better wake up and smell the coffee. HOnestly, I used to like to much better in the Sonu Nigam days. Everything looked a bit more sincere to my eyes... less filmy.

i agree that the sonu nigam days were far too good....the quality of singers, the judges.....everything was good. The show is certainly going downhill but the quality in terms of singers is still much better than the other shows.

Agree that the show is slowly drifting away...

One of the reasons that I am slowly losing interest is the decision in not awarding green card to Debojit when he sang really better than his competitors.

If every judge starts using their own yard sticks as mentioned by Shaan, then this is not a talent show...

A besura singer like Vineet gets a green card and a perfect singer like Debu gets a blue card??? what nonsense!

Vineet is not great in my opinion but he is certainly not besura. Did you mean Rajeev here as he fits the bill and is the one who got green card over Debojeet?

Vedang, Perhaps I should give you little background about this Vineet guy for you to understand why I am calling him besura.

In an earlier competition before this Challenge 2005, Vineet started a song and went so pathetic in the middle that he himself stopped and in the self comments he said, he did go besura. He said his 'gala baith gaya'.

Again in SRGMP Challenge 2005, too he sang similarly and gave the same reason that his 'gala baith gaya'. Are spectators fools???

I don't know if you watched earlier episodes, where mentors and judges did have minor arguments regarding his 'gala baithna'.

Himesh (cry-baby) creates this hype for all his sishyas. This hype only has carried Vineet so far. I don't think he is even a semi-final candidate. That's my view.

Yes taikoo, I am with you. I have seen the pre- Challenge 2005 episode that you are talking about and I remember it well. I have also seen "gala baitha hai" farce round.

Since you were talking about Debu's recent lost, I assumed you meant Rajeev.

Boy, Boy, Boy! If we call Vineet besura, then I do not know what we should call Rajeev! Bebebebesura???

Exactly, that is my point. Debojit was handed a great injustice last round when he was not given a green card compared to singers like Rajeev and Abhijit. Though I have no particular impression about Rajeev, in my opinion the deserving candidates in that round were -

Debu - Green Card

Abhijit - Blue Card

Now again, we have this Kumar Sanu guy judging Debu against Sharib and Irfan. If you ask me Debu is definitely many notches ahead of S&I. But Kumar Sanu may say Debojit 'Kishore Kumar ke jaise nahi lachka...'

What nonsense?

On one hand you say the singers should develop individuality, on other hand you have a judge (is he jealous???) who wants a talented new comer to show all lachaks and nachaks and mataks, while singing???

Why are they confusing the competitors????
