Mehdi Hasan sahab is a legend who has been my long time favourite, may Allah give him long life, Aameen.
jo_jo1214 thanks a lot for sharing this with us ,all his ghazals are mind blowing. One thing more, the numbers,5 , 12 & 14 are my most fav numbers,( I am ref to ur nick # )

Hum to bas sun laitay hain, bara acha zauq hai aap ka, yeh gana bohat super hai

Har koi Mehdi Hassan nahin ho sakta.

Bari Mushkil sey hota hai chaman mein dedawar paida.

Khatarnakji you know better than me. Mehdi's words come out softly and lovingly and quickly sink into our hearts. Musical accompaniment is very basic and the tune and delivery make up for everything. His voice is like that of a an old friend or someone very close.
