I need to tell you something.. My dear friend Bellevue and i were chatting about IF a few days ago and we both mentioned that you have never put anyone, either another IF member or reality show contestant, down. You always have praises for everyone. In fact, i have noticed that in some forums, your posts seem to liven up a "tense" situation. ;) So hats off to you for your positivity!

Yes, true. Summer is the most diplomatic person on this forum and tries to maintain harmony even when everyone is on each others' throat. I appreciate your wonderful patience, Summer. 😃

In C07, all three finalists had pros and cons. In the beginning, I was hooked onto Poonam's singing - dont know what, but she remained my favourite till she was eliminated. And she had a lot more versatility than Aneek. On the day Raja sang Haji Ali, I got connected to him and then on, I supported him too. Aneek is a good singer, I agree, but I never felt him charismatic. Amanat was so good, a boy who is just 17 years old was singing with great voice already, and he had the stage presence too. I admit, after Ek Se Badkar Ek, I lost all the fascination I had for Raja, and his attitude was terrible. Aneek still has a loveable boy kind of charm.

I somehow cannot agree that Aneek is the all-rounder. When he sang Beegi Beegi (original by KK) on Ek Se Badkar Ek, I almost cried. Because I heard the same song sung by Debojit on C09 prior to that and he made me fall in love with that song and Aneek killed it. He was zero compared to Debo's rendition of that song. Another one was the Meri Maa song (original sung by Shankar? - he sang it on C09 once and that was superb) - Aneek sang that song quite bad - there was no feeling in his song and that too when he dedicated it to his mother. When Soumen sang MahiVe dedicated to his mother, it was very touching. So there are situations when Aneek did really good and he didnt do that good.
Comparing to C09, as I said above, some songs sung by Debo were really good, and the same applies to all but Asma. That being said, if we take only the girls, Vaishali has the best versatility and high quality voice and sur, followed by Prathibha. Yashita - no, only good for fast beat semi-western songs; in fact Mitika or Jenice would have done much more better than her for the same category. Asma - I dont want to even discuss her under a music topic! Among the boys, Soumen and Debo are good with many songs - Debo with deeply emotional ones and Soumen with high pitch ones. Zaheer - I liked Shujat more, no offense. Both Shujat and Faraz used to sing without nasal tone, same way like Amanat.
So that leaves Vaishali and/or Prathibha to be the all-rounder and I believe better than Aneek too. Poonam was better than Aneek IMHO, and so I think Vaishali and Prathibha are better than him this year.

I totally respect your judgement but thats why we are all different. I loved aneek's version of bheegi bheegi lot better than Debo's. Debo has lot of power but the passion Aneek introduced in that song was awesome. I can also see Raja and Harpreet in the audience bowing their head to aneek after the song. It is the first performance of the entire show and it is the best first performance I have ever seen in any of this shows.

And regarding versatility and singing talent I am not pointing to any particular name but any of the present and c2007 contest singers are not even close to Aneek, except for Yashita. Still she is not as versatile but only one close.

Aneek being Begali got overwhelming Bengali votes. If Bengali factor didn't come in play, he worldn't even have made to top three. We should have had Poonam as one of the top three contestants. Amanat and Poonam are way better than Aneek. Even Shekher (judge) said in his interview that Amanat was most deserving of the three final contestants.

You and your twisted logic. As if rajasthanis did not voted for Raja and pakistanis did not voted for Amanat..... If you do not approve the format of the contest you should not watch it.

No problems. I respect your opinion, as each one is personal. Somehow, I always liked Debo's version. Raja and Harpreet were in that show when Aneek sang, but dont know what they would have said after hearing Debo had sung it - so I cannot comment on that. (The same way Smitha was praised for her Mayya Mayya version on ESBE CPBD, whereas Anamika did it so well in L'l Champs earlier.)
Regarding Yashita being the closest of all from C09 to Aneek, no comments.
Here are the videos of Debo and Aneek for the Beegi Beegi song, for those who would like to watch.

@Akannaji, the original singer I believe was James, a Bangladeshi singer. Thanks for posting the videos.

Akanna,

Thanks for posting videos. No hard feeling, matter of personal test. But I am still right on my previous stand.

Debo's version has raw power, no doubt about that. But I fail to understand why someone will sing "adhi adhi jagi, adhi adhi soyee/ aankhein hai teri to lagti hai royi" with raw power. The problem is not with Debo though. I have heard this song from Goutam, James and numerous other singers. The original song was not a love song, it had a message. Pritam copied it and made it like a "despair" song keeping the power intact which was not matching with the words. That is why (see in your posted videos) Abhijeet was saying "ek original song ko pehle kharab kiya gya".

Aneek soothes the song up added much more harkateein yet retained the pace of the song. That is what I call singing. It perfectly matches the feeling what is said in the song. Please listen one more time keeping the words in mind (I am not telling you change your stand) and probably you will appreciate my stand.

Thanks.

Possible. But since I heard them through those shows on TV, first Debo and then Aneek, somehow I couldnt enjoy Aneek's one as much as I did Debo's. No matter how many times I listen, it wont change - human mind setting. I havent heard the James' version, so I dont know, but I have heard KK's version, which I thought is closer to Debo's one than Aneek's. No offense - that is how I felt about it. Maybe that I never felt the connection with Aneek's song as much as I did for Debo's. 😊

Thank you. I havent heard James' one, and now I will be able to. I have heard KK's version, and this same song was sung by Rohanpreet last week in ESBE CPBD, and he sang part of it in Bengali. 😃
