hmmm...he did fall for the gimmick though except for declaring the name. That tells me either it is scripted or totally one sided.
Well, right now we cannot get into the conclusion for sure as to whether it was scripted by Zee or not. Hence my statements. I still like to think it came from his heart. 😃
If Zee was keen on getting TRPs and money, they should have kept Mitika, Naina and Kaushik instead of Asma, Sara and Tarun!! 😡
Your example is not a good one to support your claim above.
Zee showed Mitika, Naina, and Kaushik the door because they were not getting any votes. And as far as my memory goes, none of them resorted to any cheap gimmicks. They relied on their singing only. That's why they were shown the door. Asma, Sara and Tarun, however, have been part or too many controversies that the channel feels may end up increasing their TRPs.
Agree and disagree here. Kaushik did try the drama with Tarun, and the next week he was out. Naina tried the drama of asking Abhishek Bachan to vote for her based on region, and she was out the following week. Mitika, I dont even know why she was out very first?! And I dont believe that they didnt get votes - I will never buy that. If all other contestants get enought votes to stay, I am sure they will be getting at least the votes of their region, which by the way would be much bigger in number than the votes that some of the remaining ones in the show would be getting.
One can always say that regional votes would be divided if there are more than one contestant from the same region - like Kaushik, Yashita and Vaishali are from Maharashtra; Soumen and Debo are from W. Bengal; Naina and Tarun are from UP; and so on. In spite of all that, if Yashita and Vaishali can remain in the show along with Soumen and Debo, it clearly shows that people will vote for talents and voice, and not for "donkey music" or "nasal voice"!
Indo-Pak divide is 60+ years old now, and the present generation has no first hand experience of it, and knows only what they have learned in the history class. So I dont think they have any deep/strong emotions regarding that when compared to what our grandparents had. So that would be a very useless promo method for Zee, I believe. Also when it comes to music, there never has been any barriers between the two nations.
Zee claims music knows no boundaries. Then, they turn around and have Adi trying desperately to create the rift between the paki singers and indian singers. This is as cheap as it can get!
Someone somewhere claimed the TRPs increased ONLY after this indo-pak controversy was introduced. They refused to believe it was Shankar's awesome singing with the contestants that increased the TRPs. Now, you tell me what is the truth here?
Honestly Gauri, I never felt the rift being created like that. There might have been some talks about how they had to check with the police station upon arrival and all, but that is a mutual procedure for both nations. And I dont ever think that this kind of gimmick will raise the TRPs of the show - people might as well watch a debate show regarding the politics than see it on a music show. As long as Shankar along with Prathibha, Vaishali, and Soumen are in the show, I am sure many people will watch it - much more than if the show ends up with only Asma, Sara and Tarun.
On an added note, Zee should consider having the show in Pakistan next season, and invite Indian contestants to participate!! 😳
