Jade, thanks so much for the link, it made for some interesting reading. Man that girl is really taking some bashing. The views so far which I have read suggest that they are mad at her either this way or that way.
But what I feel that even if this was genuine (that she did not want to sing due to pressure or talk back home) then she should have said that outside the stage i.e. before the show and to the director.
Once she says these things on stage in full costume and make-up and more than eager mom, it becomes a gimmick and lacks any truth.
Even if the channel would have shown a clipping (for TRP) that she approached the director or the Gurus earlier (i.e. before the shoot began) with this problem and they convinced her to continue then it would still seem genuine.
But one thing is sure that her antics are not being appreciated by a very large number of people on both sides of the border. I hope that in future she stays away from these regular gimmicks and tries to sing to the best of her ability.

There are some truths and half truths and matters blown out of proportion by the Zee team.
I am trying to get immune to all these, plenty of drama at times.

Is there a fatwa or something on her? She can come in a burkha and participate. I don't mind. Prefer not to see her beehive bonnet and squeaky 5year old moany groany talk! 😆

Wow If I appreciate Zaheer for maintaining structure of puria dhaneshree in hai rama ye kya hua and criticise Mitika in the same breath it is acceptable.

Its funny that as long Indian s supported Amanat Ali last year with all heart it was OK and expected along the line, now when a mediocre singer is being dissected who is in the show purely because this would increase viewership in Pakistan it is xenophobia. It is so imp to be politically correct these days.

I feel that if she (or the channel) is trying to show that there is a lot of criticism for her singing on stage then it is wrong. In the link posted by summer it looks like many people are upset that she is showing them in poor light by saying things like that and is bowing down to the vote / trp pressure. Which is exactly what I had felt when I saw that episode.
See majority people like me in India will not know what kind of reaction she is getting in Pakistan and hence the channel should be careful in what they portray. They should not fool the public for the sake of votes or trp.

Although these antics are irritating but lets not get mean on her yaar. Uski poori galti nahi hai.
With regards to fatwa, well it has also become a fashion in our country to issue one. I think poor Sania Mirza would be the most Fatwa-ed (if there was any such word) person dead or alive !😆

It can be true. Actually, I think it is true BUT this criticism should not come as a surprise to the ma-beti jodi. After all, they live in Pakistan! They should know how fanatic those mullahs can be. They should have prepared themselves for all the criticism etc knowing the society they live in first hand.
Looks like they are busy getting mileage out of what they claim to be hurtful😆 In the beginning Sara had said ki mohalley mein sab ney mithai baanti thhee jab uss ka selection hua thha and that how depressed she was when she did not get selected last season. Wonder what happened in the mean time😕 Why this 180 degree turn in the eshtoree😆
I mean you have the then prime minister supporting and encouraging you, the whole mohalla celebrating for you and now you have the public gunning down for you😆 Kaisa des hai tera, Sara...merey des jaisa toh bilkul sound naheen ker raha yahan😛 😉

Good to see yr post after a long time Reema.

I think what Sara says is pretty much true.I have a very close friend, who happens to be a pakistani and she tells me that they do object to girls singing this way in public. No wonder Sara is very tensed abt the whole thing.

Poor Sara Certain societies do consider such activities as demeaning perhaps.
But Pakistan has a lot of great lady singers who are respected. Perhaps it is okay to sing if they are old.
Could it be that because Sara has no dad, there was no one to advise her and stop her from singing in public ?
