I think what Sara says is pretty much true.I have a very close friend, who happens to be a pakistani and she tells me that they do object to girls singing this way in public. No wonder Sara is very tensed abt the whole thing.

But she must have known this trend before auditioning - right😳 Why make such a huge hulla balloo now. Should have kept it in mind before auditioning - that too two times in a row😛

Maybe she wants to remain in India and does not want to return! So trying to gain more votes so that she can stay longer. Pure hypocrisy I believe. BTW, what has their national media talks got to do with India? They have to deal with it and should have been prepared for it when the decision to participate in the challenge was made. It's simply her problem, and not of the show.
Regarding Debo, I dont think they lied or made a big deal out of it. His parents were genuine, and they are high IQ people to fall for some script like that - it involves their son and how he will be perceived by the nation in the near future. Plus I have people like Debo in my family and it is pretty obvious from his physique and expressions that he has some behavioural issues. He really does sing with true feelings...

But if the opposition was so strong, how did she get into the competition then? The auditioning itself would have created a lot of problems, right? What is meant by "singing this way in public" - singing on national TV? I am pretty sure she would have sung in front of the public there before, or else she would have shown a lot of stage fright at least in the beginning.

It can be true. Actually, I think it is true BUT this criticism should not come as a surprise to the ma-beti jodi. After all, they live in Pakistan! They should know how fanatic those mullahs can be. They should have prepared themselves for all the criticism etc knowing the society they live in first hand.

Looks like they are busy getting mileage out of what they claim to be hurtful😆 In the beginning Sara had said ki mohalley mein sab ney mithai baanti thhee jab uss ka selection hua thha and that how depressed she was when she did not get selected last season. Wonder what happened in the mean time😕 Why this 180 degree turn in the eshtoree😆

Its called National Amnesia! 😆😆 Oh no, I forgot who I am! 😭😭

Agreed that Sara should have considered the consequeces before taking part, perhaps even seeking a fatwa.
But this is turning to be a Pow Wow session.
Rheemji is only asking for some feedbacks posibly from those who are in Pakistan, whether there was such a huge Hulla Balloo in Pakistan about her taking part.

Well I last night visited some forums from Pakistan and found out that there are a few voices which are not happy with her to come and sing but nor for singing reasons, mostly because they see that she is playing along with the channel and is doing some things which she should not do.
But the majority were having no problems with her but they were mad at her for saying what she said and trying to show them in poor light.
Thats what exactly I also thought.
But one thing is sure that they are making it seem much bigger while it is nothing of concern. What I read on those forums has put another question in my mind, when there are such cross cultural exchange of contestants, should they stick to their culture & rituals or maybe they can try to adapt to their new environment and new culture ???
In this case it is more relevant as the contestant has to win hearts of the audiences here to progress and hence needs to adapt to their culture but after the show is over they have to go back and hence have to stick to their culture or they may be mistaken for sell-outs.
Its a tough choice to make. Isnt it ??

Yes here there are differing views as to rituals and culture. some are liberal and some coservative. However there are always two sets of rules, one for the men and another for the women.
But it does seem that it has been overdramatised to some extent. I read somewhere that even Faraz and Shujat, were just tolerating her antics.
Generally she is okay although Zee finds her a useful instrument.
