Is that the official result of Oct 14th show in India?

Did Himani and Debojeet get blue cards ?

I was waiting to know 'cause Himani is one of my top favorites...

Yep...Debu and Himani got the blue cards though Sanchali sung "Gustakhiyaan" extremely well. I mean, getting a standing ovation from Ismail Darbar is no mean feat.

Himani got fainted after her performance today.

Judges were fail to give any results so they'll going to give all of them one more chance tommorow. so lets see.

This site was very slow today infact since few days so I called my family back home in Bombay. & I called them on proper time 1.30pm est (11pm india time) so got the instant results.

Sharib, Debojit & Irfan


todays theme was S.D Burman's songs.
& judges were Kumar sanu & dont remember the other one it was not Khayam i'm sure he wont come only now.

What happened to SMS folks? I though they were going to be back competing with these for a place in final

I am soooo glad that they choose SD Burman. Usually its RD/Kishore/Asha or the new generation folks. Whys can't we have Naushad/Madan Mohan/Salil Chaudhary songs? Why can't we have singers like Manna Dey and Mukesh get some respect from SRGMP. I would love to hear a Manna Day's songs -- "Laga Chunari Mei Daag" or "Puchho Na Kaise Maine Rain Bitaai" from classically trained singers like Sharib. I would love to hear Madan Mohans "Baiyya Na Dharo O Balama" or "Naino Mei Badara Chhaye, Bijali si Chamke Haye" or "Lag Ja Gale Ke Phir Yeh Hansi Raat Ho no Ho" from Swananda or Nihira. These quality songs will show the real calibre of these singers. It is unfornate that these singers never get to show their real potential with the kinds of songs that are chosen for them or given to them.

i completely agree with you ..when you said...that songs like that do not suit the actors and actresses.
but these songs are some of the best from our music industry...a playback singer must be competent enough to sing all kinds of songs....
the little sanchari sang many beautiful compositions perfectly...she is just great....and likewise i think all the contestants can give it a chance...
in the last round when it was a chance to sing kishoreji's songs and ashaji's songs . the song selection by the girls was ok..they could have selected some great numbers and slow numbers....
Debo was great with his rimjhim gire saawan...

MrspetloverUS, you probably did not get what I wanted say or may be I did not put my point across correctly. I am not asking that these kinds of songs be made today. I know they won't suit on todays actresses -- boy! -- Neha Dhupia singing a gem lke "woh bhuli dastan lo phir yaad aagayi" , or Mallika Sherawat singing a marvel like "apaki nazaro ne samaja" or Bipasha Basu singing likes of "naina barase rimzim rimzim"...... NO!!!!

All I am saying is that once in a while SRGMP can have a theme round where viewers get to listen the songs composed/sung by these great artists. It doesn't have to be Kishore/Asha/RD or JL/ID/AS ALL the time. That's it.

And BTW, I do belong to the generation of the folks that are in majority on this forum. It is just that I like old songs too and enjoy listening them as much as the good quality new songs. I do go to the Star Show Hungamas but I also attend Pt. Ravi Shankar, Pt. Jasraj, Pt. Shivkumar Sharma and Ustad Amjad Ali Khan concerts. I also make it a point to attend Jagjit Singh, Pakaj Udhas ghazal concerts and I do not miss Anup Jalota's devotional "bhajan sandhyas". I like music of all sorts and there are lots like me who also do. If you frequent some of the other Hindi film music newgroups/forums, you will find even college students discussing in great details the songs of the by gone era. You do not need to belong to "woh bhi zamana tha" generation to enjoy the treasure that the likes of Naushad/Madan Mohan/Salil Chaudhary have left for us.
