This feature does not work for PM's but is working well in posts. So is there a possibility this can be added for PM's as well?

Yes that is also possible. Will work on that and we will be soon having this feature working for PMs too :)

At the moment we do not plan to extend it to the siggy place as it will be quite repetitive and it will even slow down the page load time.
