Gigs > Hi, people normally use TV or modelling as a step to get into movies. Why did you come back to TV after doing a film?
Gaurav Chanana > The thing is I am an actor and my idea is to act and portray interesting characters. They can be on TV, films or theater - it doesn't really matter if the character excites me.

Mouli > What is your future plan?
Gaurav Chanana > I don't make plans. I live by the day; only make short term plans like to chat on Indiatimes for the next half an hour (smiles). I live by moment.

Ram > Do you think you made a mistake by opting out of (TV serial) Sanjeevani and do a film?
Gaurav Chanana > I didn't leave Sanjeevani for a film. The film happened much later. I wanted to take a sabbatical and it was the best thing to do at that time. I don't believe in regretting.

Mani > Do you still harbour a desire to act in films? What type of films would you like to do?
Gaurav Chanana > I just harbour a strong desire to act, the medium doesn't matter. I like to play interesting characters - something like Matt Demon in talented Mr. Ripleys.

Yeti > Why do you think that your first film bombed at the box office?
Gaurav Chanana > Because the film was a bit out dated. The final product wasn't as we thought it would be. Thus, it didn't appeal to the audiences.

Jli > Would you like to play Dr. Rahul again? How did that role affect your life?
Gaurav Chanana > "Rahul" was a very interesting and strong character and it was very popular among the viewers. If I had to play "Rahul" again I would play it but a bit differently. Hopefully, better than the last time. It didn't really affect my life as such. Just that it got me a whole a lot of fans, which is a good feeling.

Mehak > What was the first break you got as an actor or performer?
Gaurav Chanana > The first break which I got was Love Mein Kabhi Kabhi on Sab TV. I played a character called "Manas"(lead)in it. I got through by an audition.

Lili > Don't you feel a drop in your fan following after you stopped playing Rahul? Please tell me honestly.
Gaurav Chanana > Yes, I agree with that. As Rahul - the character - was very popular .

Reva_1982in > What is your qualification? I heard that you stopped CA study.
Gaurav Chanana > I am actually a two third CA. There are three stages and I have cleared two. The third I never appeared for, and started acting.

Nany > I crave your looks. You have such a lovely bone structure. How do you handle the female fan following?
Gaurav Chanana > Thank you very much. You have been generous. I think I am a very average looking guy. And it is always a pleasure to have female fan following. I smile back at them and then they are all happy.

Lila > Who is your favourite Bollywood actor or actress?
Gaurav Chanana > Favourite actor - Aamir Khan and actress – Kajol.

Ram > Can we know your birthday please?
Gaurav Chanana > 15th of July.

Clod > How did you get to act in TV?
Gaurav Chanana > I started modelling. Then appeared for a few TV auditions and got lucky.

Lili > Are you married? Have a girl friend? What sort of a girl would you like?
Gaurav Chanana > No, I am not married. Yes, I have a girl friend and somebody who loves and understands me.

Moji > Where are you from? Who do you have in your family?
Gaurav Chanana > I am from Delhi. My family consists of parents and a younger brother

Bagi > Besides your girl friend, who would you like as your dream date?
Gaurav Chanana > Dream date would be Madhu Bala .

Jagruti > The turning point in your life?
Gaurav Chanana > The turning point in my life was when I did a play in school when I was in 11th standard. That's when I realised that I wanted to be a professional actor.

Mehak > Did you always wanted to be an actor?
Gaurav Chanana > No, I had no plans. I did a play in school and then (I) realised that I wanted to be an actor.

Homer > Are you doing any movie? Will you move to Hindi cinema finally?
Gaurav Chanana > As of now, I am not doing any films. I only want to play interesting characters. The medium really doesn't matter.

Kali > Who is your favourite star with whom you would like to act in the future?
Gaurav Chanana > Anjelina Jolie in Hollywood and Mr. Amitabh Bachchan in Bollywood.

Gera > Are you doing any TV serials?
Gaurav Chanana > I am doing this serial called Yehi Toh Hai Woh .

Mehak > What do you do in your free time?
Gaurav Chanana > I watch a lot of films, read, go for my dance class once in a while because I love dancing.

Rita > Who is your role model?
Gaurav Chanana > Dhirubhai Ambani because of what he has achieved specially when he started from scratch.
