I don't know how they split the contestants between Sat and Sun, but the ones that perform on Sunday always have better luck of the draw because of the theme. It gives them more to play with and better songs to choose. That said - how did they choose these songs for the "Bachpan ke din" theme? I'm mystified! 😕

They very deliberately split Jaya and Shashank between Sat and Sun, possibly manipulating their exits, anticipating they would be the lowest scorers. What tricks these channels play! 😕

Anyway, today's episode was so much better and so were the performances! After yesterday's damp squib, I'm happy to be able to at least rate the performances today 😆

1. Hemant Brijwasi: Great song choice! And what a performance! I love this song and he made me love it even more! I agree with Shankar about the little extra harkats he added and made the song his own! Amazing! Flawless! And I eat my words about him sticking to the same genre. With today's performance, he proved he can be versatile with different genres too. 👏👏. He deserved all the tutaaris and then some!

2. Zaid Ali: This kid stole my heart. Such sincerity and such devotion in his voice! He stayed true to the composition, and added his own unique flavor to it. Superb!

3. Rohanpreet: I've always liked him, today was no exception. He did sound a bit off, possibly because of his sore throat, but I daresay I didn't notice a significant difference in his singing which is totally to his credit. I do wish he'd try a different genre, he keeps doing the same old sad, slow, romantic numbers.

4. Rainit: I liked his performance. I don't know why Shankar thought he should've left. In fact, his comment in the end to Shashank left such a bad taste. It didn't make anyone happy - not Shashank, not Rainit and definitely not me. Why did he make that comment? And he didn't vote for Rainit but voted down for Shashank! That shows clearly who he thought was inferior! Then why did he do a turnabout? 😲😡 And I saw Monali was trying to cover up for her faux pas yesterday by commending Rainit's efforts at being able to sing with hearing loss.😡 Sorry, ma'am! The damage you caused cannot be undone. She should apologize.

Anyway, Rainit's performance, though not terrific, was definitely good. I agree he has sung better in previous performances though. This song he picked was good too. Suited his voice. And he did a decent job.

5. Chetan Brijwasi: I don't mean to be harsh, but singing a high energy song doesn't mean screaming it at the top of your voice! You can bring the energy into it by other ways! I'm sorry but I thought he was just shouting and the only reason I'm putting him above Afreen group is because their performance just doesn't work for me.

6. Afreen group and Shashank: They're tied for bottom place for me. I actually thought Shashank wasn't too bad when he started out, but I'm not familiar with the song and I don't know how much justice he did to it. Afreen group sounds like chaos! I don't know why the judges praise them so much. I cannot understand their appeal at all! Tharki Chokro is a great song and they should've infused it with the fun element that the song needs. They were anything but fun! They sounded sad! I had to perk up my ears to figure out if they were indeed singing that song or something else!

All the dramedy with the little kid impersonators, Rainit's mom, Sindhu Tai etc etc- I just sacrificed with my forward button. Three cheers for it! I intend to use it a lot more for this show! 😆

Finally watched both the episodes.

For the Saturday episode.
The wildcard contestants didn't sing well at all. None of them deserves to get their place back basis Saturday's singing. Inspite of that Aman was the best of the lot.
Amongst the others, except for Vishnumaya I didn't enjoy any performance. Everybody was trying to be in their comfort zone. While Mamta wasn't bad, I think he song selection wasn't great. The other performances were so boring that I don't even remember them. Most of the tutaaris were not justified. I think Shankar is going overboard with it.

Sunday:

The older Brijwasi brother (I'm forgetting names) was really good. I didn't think he could do justice to this song. That was a well deserved tutaari. The younger brother wasn't great. In fact my husband even asked me how does this guy get a few percent votes before the even sang? People are voting for their favourites without even listening to them.
I'm bored of Afreen group. Not saying they were bad, but I can listen to only so much qawali.
I really like zaid (I think that's the right name), but I didn't enjoy his performance today.
Shashank sings similar songs every episode, but today I actually enjoyed it ( maybe because it's such a nice song). Like Shankar even I think he was better than Raenit.
Honestly this season they don't have half the talent they had last year.
I'm not even going to talk about Sindhu tai and the kids. My ranting then won't stop!

Also when Aman was eliminated why was she repeating that audience is intelligent in front of him. How must he be feeling. She really needs to work on her judging skills.

I was shocked when Monali asked that question to Rainit. Like what made her ask that? Ok ask was he unable to hear properly hence such a weak performance. But why straight away ask if his hearing problem is real or not? That was plain rude 😡

There is something about Sunday episodes that they are always better than Saturday's 😛. That being said, I absolutely loved this episode only it was extremely long!! I may be in the minority but I loved the kids who dressed up as the judges esp chota Diljit, he was spot on!!

Now coming to the performances in order of my liking:

Hemant - The best performance of the episode. His scoring the highest along with Shankar's tutari was well deserved 👏. Superb performance, I thoroughly enjoyed it !! Along with his cute interaction with chota brijwasi before his performance 😆.

Zaid - I absolutely adore this kid ❤️. His singing was so divine and his innocence just touches the heart everytime!! His backstory of his father was also touching and man does his father sing so well 😲. So singing is already in his genes.

Rohan - I noticed he started quite off and then picked up, I thought he was just picking up the song, but throughout the performance I did not realize that he had a sore throat 😲. He sang amazingly well, I get lost in his singing everytime. But dear pls sing something different next time, you are getting repetitive 🥱.

Ok the above three performances were only worth remembering that I forgot the others' performances 😛, so in no particular order:

Chetan - His intro as usual with the fusion of hindi and english was funny 😆. His performance was extremely energetic !! Now we can say that chota brijwasi is back. But wasn't he just shouting? My head was aching after his performance 🤔 .. I guess this chotu really gets too excited hence the energy, 'by hook or crook I will make the wall rise up' 😛

Rainit - Better than his wildcard performance. He has an amazing voice but I couldn't connect to his singing. In many parts he sounded off and sharp.

Afreen group - Well they are all noise for me 🥱. I sometimes cannot figure out which song they are singing. Will there be one day when they will not get a tutari? They get a tutari when they score in the 80-90 range but singers who even get a 90 sometimes do not get a tutari.. Shankar's tutari is all messed up 🤔

Shashank - Thankfully he is gone!! Had he not cried so much I would have still liked him.. But his crying used to put me off that I forget what he actually sang. Coming to his song, it was okayish, I couldn't connect, and lol the judges' faces were worth watching 😛 trying to feel the song but couldn't.

Lastly, I loved Manish and Shaan's presence in the show.. Manish is so funny, I wish he would have been the host instead 😆.

It is true. The Sunday episodes are really more fun and overall better than the Saturday ones. I thoroughly enjoyed this episode. The (melo)drama was there but it wasn't that bad. 😊

Jenny, even I liked the little kids. They were quite fun and were given good dialogues. It was a "childhood special" but how could they forget their own kids Zaid and Chetan. I would have loved to see a little skit with them as well.
I also agree with LizzieBennett, the themes and the songs didn't match at all. 😆 the songs they chose were so random. I was a little confused. 😕So what was the point of the theme? 😆

Also loved loved having Shaan in Rising Star. Singers just add so much to the show. Wished he was greeted properly and would have also sat on the expert chair.

To the performances in order of my preference:

Hemant: He is AMAZING. I always forget that he just 20. I didn't expect him to sing that kind of song but he just knailed it. With yesterdays performance he really proved that he is an all rounder and no genre is too hard for him. Also, love how his voice just fits any genre, be it classical, fun number or a party song. And how does he manage to add these difficult haraketein and stuff to these party songs? He has definitely become my favorite. 👏

Zaid: This boy has a voice of an angel. The way he sings so beautifully and effortlessly always amazes me. ⭐️ His dad is also an amazing singer and his story really touched me.

Rohanpreet: I think it's the first time I really enjoyed his performance. Although he had a sour throat he sang amazingly. He is another one who can sing like it's no big deal. However, just like Mamta, he needs to really sing something different. 👍🏼

Raenit: His performance yesterday was much better than Saturdays I feel. Although the beginning I felt was a little shaky he got better in the first half and his singing connected with me. There is a certain feel he brings to his performances which just touches the heart. I really hope he gets better next week. I'm rooting for him to be honest.

Chetan: I am always going to be a little biased towards Chetan and Zaid. They are just sweet little angels. ❤️ Objectively speaking, I actually enjoyed his performance, yes it was not his best and could have been better but I think it was because of his cold that he seemed like he was shouting at some points. Also who resposible for his song selection?? They give him the same kind of loud and fast songs where he can't show his singing. He definitely has the potential. Hope he sings something more soft and calm next week, ⭐️

Afreen Group: They sound the same every week and it is getting boring. I don't understand how they get the Tutari every time from Shankar and the immense praise from the judges. 😒 Compared to the Harmony Group, they are really weak. But they're story touched me.

Shashank: His singing never connected me and he was giving weak performances since a couple of weeks so he deserved to go.

All in all a good episode. Next week it is going to be very exciting as all the weak contestents have left. Let's see what happens.

It was better but too long episode please colors cut the time , 11 is too late ...

1) Hemant - i guess its the first time that i enjoyed his singing , he prooved his versatility today and even i will listen his version than real song 😳 ... his overconfidence was also toned down today so i did not mind him 😊 ... a deserving finalist!

2) Zaid - though i dont like sufi songs much so i did not like song but its nice to listen to that angelic and pure voice ❤️ i liked his offscreen persona too .. he is just too cute ! hope he also keep on doing different genres like hemant tried and even he tried last week... his father and his story and bond is really awesome 😳 ! love this cute kid!

3) Rohanpreet - not bad! i expect something different from him now , but one thing is sure he brings feel to every song he sings!! and this song used to be my fav in childhood so i was bit nostalgic too ..

4) Rainit - I dont know why monali and shankar did not give him green.. monali does not like him for some reason that i dont know why and what? 🥱😕 he was really good , and did justice to song and that end comment from shankar was really rude.. whats need to put a contestant down by taking his name specially?? 😕 he did it during duet round too ... at the end of the day junta find him good enough to vote , no one is lucky, thats it! i have a feeling rainit will go next week as judges dislikes him... its sad to see him going again.. he should not have come!!

5) Afreen group - they choosed brillient song and it had a great scope of addition and rendition but they missed the chance and fun murkhiya that this song have!! they are weak contestant now, we might see them going next week , but at the same time their story was touching but at the end of day its competition and weak one has to go!! i want them to participate in qawali competition may be they can do wonders there! 😊

6) Shashank - Clearly feel was missing and even his pronunciation was off as monali also pointed out!! he was not that great either, so i dont mind him going and if monali and shankar are so concerned about him they should have voted for him 😊 y putting others down?

7) Chetan - i guess i am in minority here but what was this 😕 it was pure screaming , i am not even bathroom singer , still i can sing..oops scream better than him!! pure annoying voice... he is least deserving at this moment in the show... when shaan sang that song we can clearly see difference!! there are notes , sur , wordings in peppy songs too!! he is overrated, y judges gave him green is beyond my understanding, hope he goes this week , i cant see rainit going over him... bcz of judges biasedness towards him 😊

p.s. loved the kids!! and how they made fun of monali 😆😃 she gets annoying and offended saying meri kyu kheech rahe ho.. where was she when she was making fun of aman? karma!! what goes around comes around!! 😳

Can someone explain why or how they picked the songs in Sunday's episode when the theme was "bachpan ke din"?

Initially, I thought they're songs that the contestants would've grown up listening to on the basis of their age. But then how do you explain the older Brijwasi choosing "Slow Motion Angreza' which is from a 2013 movie as opposed to the younger Brijwasi choosing Dus Bahane which is from a 2005 movie when he probably wasn't even born! 😕

I thought the song choices were so random! Does anyone have an explanation for this that I'm not seeing?

I was really expecting that they will be singing shaanz songs from the time i saw in instagram that shaan was coming...
coz shaan has sung some superb songs...
chetan just spoiled the song by screaming.
raenit was ok.
hemant was awesome.
aafreen was average.
zaid ali, i have no words to say, this kid z mindblowing.

Ha..that's probably it! I didn't see all those skits so I must've missed connecting it to the theme.😛 I usually skip all the extras and go straight to the performances. Sometimes I stay to hear what the judges have to stay after a performance. And anyways, stuff that most people find cute about little kids - them donning adult get-ups and playing little adults always turns me off - I find them precocious and off-putting rather than cute, I prefer kids to stay kids! 😊
