Yes Usha it is a love story just like the hunter shooting down one bird, the hypocrite society of Ayodhya couldnt see the Mahalakshmi in front of them, only saw the dirt in her and thus seperated her and her unborn twins from her husband. They deprived Ram his family life in the name of maryada. They called him God. But couldnt accept his decision of taking his wife back. They were unable to see Sita through Ram's eyes which saw only purity in her. They saw her through Ravan's eyes that lusted over her. They wanted God to follow their rules and didnt wanted to understand why God did or why God wants to implement the change. They were above God.
Power of the system that banishes Sita, is the same power that goes to disrobe Panchali and kills Abhi in Chakravyuha.
It is the power of the system that keeps the burden of rape on victim, that has the craze for boy child even if that means killing baby girls in their mother's womb, in a whole the patriarchy belief that was there in tetra yug, dwapar yug and is there in kali yug. It is not men alone who are responsible for it, it is also supported by women.
A man who rapes a woman and a woman who puts accusation of fake rape on a noble man support patriarchy. A man who wants to kill his daughter and a wife who supports that support patriarchy. Women are not the victims of patriarchy, men are too.
When a Sita is sent away, a Ram cries silently. When a Panchali is humilated a Bhima languishes in pain and an Arjuna burns in fire. I have read somewhere when a woman stands up for herself, when a woman questions the patriarchy along with that she is liberating a noble man also. Giving him a chance to change the system.
Stop seeing the world through man's eyes, see it through your eyes for change to happen.
