I feel age was a big factor a while ago. Couple themselves would get very conscious but the trend is changing offlate. Maybe the last decade or so the change is quiet visible. People are open to age gap and choose partner wtih over 5-6 yrs gap.
Interesting discussion is if a girl is interested in a guy younger her age. There are many successful couples leading happy life.
So yes, age gap is catching up but defintely not over the limit of 6yrs or so
