I know I am late .. way too late !!! But Better late than never right ? *Laughs Sheepishly*
The Memory has reached it's 12th Chapter. And I am so happy because I never imagined you guys would like and enjoy this thriller because usually Love stories and romantic fictions tend to hit a huge number, not a suspense story ...
And Romance Is definitely not my cup of tea !
I didn't want to garner haters by writing something that I wasn't comfortable with. So I stuck to what I enjoyed reading the most and those are thrillers.
And right now I am so glad that I was able to reach the 12th chapter of this Fiction because after penning down each update I would go about saying - "Oh God.. I am gonna drop this... I don't like it !!"
But it were the comments that followed by after each update that made me gain the confidence of penning the next chapter. SO I would like to thank every single soul who commented and made me smile ! Thankyou !! *Blows a Kiss*

-THE PRESENT-" Hello..."- Roni said nervously as the phone call got connected.
" Hello... Roni beta..How are you? Is anything wrong?" - Roni heard Ananya's mom's voice. She sounded worried.
He nodded his head in impulse and replied - " Aunty... Everything is fine.. please don't stress yourself... Can I talk to Ananya?"
"Ananya?... But Roni She is supposed to be in the office... where are you? .."- Anita asked completely taken aback.
Roni's heart sunk.. "Where is she ?... if she isn't at her home .. then where is Ananya?" - Roni thought to himself.
Anita waited for Roni to answer. But he didn't. She sat up and almost bellowed into her mobile- "Roni... What's the matter? Please tell me... Is something wrong? Did they find something about Kabir? I don't know why .. but I just can't stop worrying... It's as if something bad is going to happen... I tried calling Ananya but her mobile is switched off... And now you're saying she isn't there with you... Don't dare hide anything from me..."
Roni took in a deep breath. He Replied reassuringly - " Aunty.. Please calm down... Nothing's the matter.. in fact there is only a good news for you ..."
Anita's expression shifted from concern to doubt. She asked slowly - "Good news ?..."
Roni's eyes lightened and he said with a small smile playing on his lips - " Yes Aunty... Very good news ... Kabir Sharma is back... Safe and sound... well not exactly sound... But definitely his anger is the same... no matter how bad his health is..."
"What ?" - Anita shouted and sprung up from her sofa.
Roni's smile widened. He had witnessed Ananya's mothers concern for the past 3 days and Roni knew that the poor soul could now sleep in peace.. well her daughters happiness was officially back. He said - " Yes Aunty... Kabir sir is back... He managed to make an escape from his captivity and he reached KKN an hour back...but he is currently under medical supervision... He was drugged ... And they have to detoxified him now... but the doctor has said he must take utmost care because his body is too week..."
" Thank God... Oh My... I was so worried... I am so glad he is okay... Are you in the hospital? And who was the one behind all this ?" - Anita asked as she sat back slowly wiping away tears of joy that wetted her cheeks.
Roni replied into the phone as he leaned on the wall - "Hmm..We aren't in the hospital... we are in the police station... Aunty you will be surprised when you come to know who was the one behind all this..."
Anita's brows furrowed. She asked in an undertone - "Who?"
"Shreya... Shreya Baghat... She was the one who kidnapped Kabir Sir...and she was the one who kept him captive for the past 3 days ..."- Roni said as he felt goose bums adore his skin. It happened every time he thought about how The Business head of KKN was the mastermind behind this disgusting act.
"Shreya ?..."- Anita chocked. "Shreya was behind this...?"- She felt as if her mind would burst from the news it just received.
Roni closed his eyes and replied - " Hmm.. Yes Aunty... And She was drugging Kabir sir the whole while.. And you know what?.. She Made Kabir Sir believe that He had murdered' Ananya and that he was in coma for 3 years...But Kabir sir finally managed to escape and that's when he realized everything was a big fat lie... "
Anita's eyes widened . She was left speechless. Roni gave a weak smile and continued because he knew it was too much to take in - " But we managed to get hold of Shreya.. Now we are in the police station... And Kabir Sir has gone to meet her... His anger is justified... The lady took everyone by surprise Aunty... No one ever suspected her.. not even Ananya..."
" Oh my God... How could Shreya do such a thing? She drugged Kabir?...Is she insane ? Roni... now how is Kabir ? And where are you? Which police station?... I will come there immediately... Why isn't Kabir under bed rest?..."- Anita asked as she swiftly made her way to the front door grabbing her wallet and house keys.
Roni smiled as he heard the concern in her voice - " Ram nagar police station Aunty.. it's only 10 mins away from your home.."
"Okay.. I am coming..."- Was all that Anita replied before she disconnected the call.
Roni looked at his mobile. He thought to himself - "I am clueless as to where she is... Ananya will be the happiest person when she knows Kabir Sir is fine...But look at how irresponsible she is...? She might be worrying about and trying to investigate Kabir sir's whereabouts all by herself.. but in reality he is now safe..."
He inhaled in some air and said out -"Your stressing yourself Roni... I am sure our Lioness will be back in an hour or so once she has had enough of being the detective herself... Where else could she go?..."
Roni ran his fingers through his hair as he made his way into the police station, where the whole team had just entered.
~ ~ ~Kurana cleared his throat and said slowly placing his hand on Kabir's Shoulder - "Kabir... I know that what she did was completely outrageous... but Please don't land yourself in the adjacent cell... Trust me , The joy of having killed Shreya would seem so small in front of the bitter experience you will face under imprisonment ..."
Kabir didn't turn to face Kurana. He fisted his hands and replied - "Well that's for me to decided isn't it Kurana?... and I have one piece of advice..."- Kabir faced Kurana and leaned towards him and said boring into his eyes - "Don't try to stop me... I might end up killing you too.. and That's something I am sure I will regret all my life..."
Kurana looked at Kabir with astonishment. He raised an eyebrow and said - "If You're the Editor of KKN .. then I am the Sub Inspector of this police station... don't you dare give me any advice standing on this piece of land Mr.Sharma..."- Kabir just turned his face way from Kurana who chuckled and continued - "Ananya is the only one, who is capable of handling you... So for God's sake Please don't do anything stupid before Ananya reaches... For the past three days the girl was literally dying every second thinking about you.. So... don't give her a "I am back" party by going to jail !!!"
Upon the mention of Ananya's name Kabir's stern eye's softened , his heart felt as if it was performing a live orchestra. "Where the hell are you Ananya... I just want to see you... I just want to make sure you are alive... I just want to see your smile..."- Kabir thought.
Kurana said - "Hoping you will not do anything stupid, I am letting you inside Kabir... Please don't break my trust..."
Kabir Shrugged his shoulders and walked inside the room that was connected to the cells where prisoner's were imprisoned.
"From the way his hands are fisted I don't think "Your" trust is going to remain intact Inspector..."
Kurana turned around and said giving an edgy smile- "Ah... Mr.Manav...Anything the matter?"
Manav smiled and said - "Hmm.. Nothing much inspector..., Khalid wanted to know if his statements were required now or could he leave... because no particular authority is present at KKN right now..."
"Oh.. that's a problem isn't it? But the quicker the statements are ready..the faster the court procedures... It would take only a few minutes to log in the statement... Come... let's get it done quickly"- Kurana said as he walked towards the room where Khalid and other members were waiting for him.
He stopped and turned to Manav who was following his lead. Kurana said flashing a smile- " Well, If not for you Mr.Manav we wouldn't have caught Shreya... Good Job"
Manav halted and smiled as he said -"Thankyou Inspector... It wasn't such a tedious job.. and when you know the product would elevate you then why not ?"
The inspector was completely confused. He asked - " I didn't get you Manav..."
Manav chuckled and said- "The business head has left behind a powerful position.."
Kurana's eyes widened and he said slowly with tongue in his cheeks -"Well Mr.Manav, dreaming isn't a bad habit... but some dreams are just mere dreams !! ... Anyways, let's get going and complete logging in your statements"
" I completed mine the moment I reached here.. I just have to put in my sign once Khalid's and Roni's statements are also complete... and anyways I wanted to ease my brain from having listened to that mad women scream her lungs out..."- Manav replied to Inspector Kurana.
Kurana remarked -" Oh.. well that's great... I will get going.. If you want you can wait here... and do keep an eye if you hear Any screaming coming from inside... I don't trust Kabir especially when he is angry..."
Manav laughed and said - "Sure thing... I don't trust Mr.Sharma as well... Might as well sit here... And be a witness to Shreya Baghat's murder... in that was My initial dream would come true in a blink of an eye..."
Kurana's jaws dropped open. He shook his head and said- " I will never understand you all...A complete lot of psychos... "
And saying so he walked out, leaving behind Manav who sat down smiling to himself.
~ ~ ~"Well .. well.. well... Look who's sitting in this cell all alone...Miss. Shreya Disgusting Baghat ..."- Kabir said in a gravelly voice as he entered into the room and looked into the cell where shreya was found leaning against the wall looking up at the ceiling.
"Kabir...?"- Shreya almost jumped up on listening to his voice. She turned towards him and looked with horror as she noticed his eyes were literally breathing fire. She took a step back because deep down she couldn't trust the bars that partitioned the two of them.
"Yes... YES Shreya.. It's me Kabir... the one who was in coma and the one who murdered Ananya 3 years back..."- Kabir said with a scowl that almost made his face look ugly.
Shreya just stared at him and said slowly -"Kabir..."
Kabir held the bars with so much force that it nearly wobbled. He shouted- "Don't you dare utter my name from that filthy mouth of yours!!! What did you think eh? You thought I was a fool?... you thought I will not understand how all your fit for, was telling outrageous lies !!! ... you were born to spread hatred and rubbish!!! And you really thought I would believe you ?? PATHETIC !!! "
"KABIR HOW DARE YOU !!"- Shreya spat out. But manually she took steps away from Kabir who was gripping the bars with so much strength that she knew he would break in any moment.
"I SAID DON'T UTER MY NAME YOU STUPID WOMAN !!!!!"- Kabir shouted. He was so angry that he felt his body would burst by the heat it was emitting.
Shreya's eyes widened. But then suddenly Kabir couldn't see Shreya inside the cell. His mind suddenly showed him a flash of the sight he had seen 3 days ago in his cabin. He could see Ananya looking at him with fright and horror. He could see the same Ananya looking at him with tears in her eyes the way she looked at him when he shouted at her 3 days ago.
And then He saw her lips move.
She whispered out -" I...I... love you Kabir... How... Could you... How could you compare me with Shreya... ?"
And then She was gone. He couldn't see Ananya anymore. All that he could see was Shreya looking at him with widened eyes.
Kabir Just froze. He could see Ananya so clearly a moment ago. It felt as if she was really crying and talking to him... it felt as if she was calling out to him... But why?...WHY?
Shreya was just looking at Kabir who now had a lost expression on his face. It looked like he would cry any moment. But then suddenly his grip on the bars tightened and he said out -" It's because of you !!!... IF only you hadn't come knocking back ..ALL THIS WOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED !!! What did you assume Shreya?... I would fall in your trap so easily ?... Life taught me so many lessons .. but the most important lesson that it taught me was that "DON'T TRUST SHREYA BAGHAT, THE WORLDS DISGUSTING AND SICKENING WOMAN !!!!"
Shreya was just looking at him with aghast. He literally barked - " You lied to me once and I just let go !!!... I didn't bother...But then this time I am not going to keep num!!! Because this time you played with my emotions... you made me go through hell with your lie !!! What did you think? The moment I knew Ananya was dead I would move on??? How pitiable and ridiculous can your thoughts get? You will never understand the meaning of love ..isn't it ?"
Shreya snapped - " Kabir !!!..."
Kabir laughed out- "Oh God !!! Your offended by my remark is it Mam ? My bad !!! How can I insult a woman who made her Husband's life a living hell ?.. How can I insult the Woman who after many years returned to torture and destroy the world he had managed to build up with what was left inside him!!! How can I possibly say that she doesn't Know the meaning of love !!! Oh God !!! How can I loose my mind into saying such things?? ..I am so sorry... Please forgive me Mam .. Please...!!"
Shreya scowled and said - "You will regret all this Kabir !!!.. You will regret everything that your saying now..."
Kabir laughed more loudly and then said glowering at her- " Look who is talking... Miss.Behind the bars ... I never thought you would turn out to be so lame Shreya !!!... If you have the guts then come and stand here... Right in front of me !!!... Come !!... Don't you want to hold my hands and crease my cheeks...?"
Shreya just stared at him. Kabir raised an eyebrow and asked -"NO?... But why?... Whenever I managed to wake up from the drugs you injected into me.. that was the only thing you kept doing... You don't want to do it now ?... Come here... Come Shreya !!..."
Shreya took a step back and now hit the wall behind her. Kabir's expression turned into that of disgust as he said - " What happened ?... your guts have reached the drains is it?... You Know what Shreya??... You don't deserve the attention and anger I am giving you now !!! You don't deserve even the Slightest of acknowledgment... You will Rot in this jail or you might rot in another jail all your life,... You know why? Because you tried to Murder me... Well you didn't exactly... But that's the story I am gonna say... and the drugs you have used are illegal so... the very fact will act as your ticket to hell!! Enjoy your vacation My darling !!"
Shreya seemed so misplaced. She just rested her head on the wall and kept num. Kabir gave a smirk and said - "When you lied to me that I murdered Ananya.. I really thought of turning myself to the police... But look at how the tables have turned and where am I standing ?... This is called Karma Shreya !!! Rot In the hell that you yourself created !!!"
He looked at her one last time and turned around. But before he could take a step to go. He heard her voice say - " Where Is Ananya.. Kabir ?"
Kabir just stayed rooted at the same spot. She continued - "Is she waiting outside?... Did you meet her ?..."
Kabir turned around immediately and looked at her with suspicion. She gave a wide smile asked- " No you didn't?... Then how did you know what I said was a lie Kabir?... how did you know Ananya is alive?"
"It's because everyone in this world knows how pathetic and brainless you are !!.. Just cut the crap Shreya !!...Your game is over !!!"- Kabir snapped.
Shreya raised an eyebrow and gave a depraved smile. She said-" True... I lost... But you can't be so sure .. can you Kabir ?... Anyways... Please say Hi to Ananya when you see her... And do mention that she isn't to be blamed... It's all your fault !!!"
Kabir glared at her and said with revulsion - "You will Never change isn't it ??... I loath you so much that I can murder you with my own hands !!!... But you know what? You don't deserve a fast death !!!... If you deserve anything... then it's this jail, regret and loneliness !!!"
Saying this Kabir turned around and walked out of the door.
Shreya's smile widened - "I don't know about me Kabir... But I know one thing.. Your ain't gona Find Ananya Anywhere..and when you do... It will be too late !!!.. So basically you're the one who is going to live your life in loneliness and regret... Not me !!! Because I have succeeded !!!"
And Her laugh filled the cell.
~ ~ ~Kabir barged out of the room and as he entered the other room he felt his body was shutting down. His legs gave in and he tried to hold onto something or anything near him to prevent making a head on collision with the hard ground. His vision blurred and he thought he would blank out any moment. But A strong pair of hands held on to Kabir and made him stand on his two feet supporting him all the way up.
"Kabir Shahab... I never thought I would live a day to see you so weak and fragile... You okay ?" - Manav remarked as Kabir was touching his forehead.
Kabir nodded his head lightly. He Knew his body would give in any second. He let go of Manav's Grip and tried to stand by himself .. but his knees gave in for the second time.
Manav held him up again and said - "Whow ... Easy there Mr.Sharma ...I don't think your body is ready to withstand you all by itself... And judging from the way you barged out... It's obvious that you invested all your energy on your beautiful wife..."
Kabir glared at Manav. Who now raised his eyebrows in a comic way and said -"Oh My... I mean EX wife !!... Well ... Your choices ain't so bad after all Kabir Sahab ... Your first lady in a Psycho and your second one is a naive beauty... Not bad..."
Kabir inhaled in some air and tried to stand by himself. Now he felt a bit better than a second before. And Manav's comments were instigating him to let go. Kabir said as he let his grip from Manav fall-"I can Manage Manav.. Thankyou..."
Manav said as he let Kabir stand by himself- "Okay... But don't blame me if you kiss the ground..."
Kabir gave a weak chuckle as he balanced himself and said - "No I wont ... Don't worry Manav Bhai"
Manav smirked and remarked as he looked at the door through which Kabir had just entered - "SO... did you murder her ?..."
Kabir looked at Manav who was sporting a smile and said with raised eyebrows - "What do you think Manav Bahi ?"
Manav smirked even wider and said -" What do I think?... Well Judging from you past records... You might have killed her..."
Kabir gave a weak smile and said nodding his head in disbelief - "My past records?... I never knew my past records involved murdering individuals ...Anyway, I must thank the devil for his deed isn't it?... Thankyou.. Manav Bhai... I never thought you would turn out to help us in catching that... that woman... "
Manav's smile faded and he said looking into Kabir's eyes - "More than a Thank you.. I would prefer a throne ...Kabir Shahab..."
Kabir looked at Manav with wide eyes - "You will never change ...will you?"
Manav grinned and said looking at Kabir who was breathing heavily yet acted as if he was strong enough to run an athletic race- "That's me... Are you really alright?... or are you going to die?...You look like your going to bid farewell soon... I will definitely remember you throughout my life ..."
Kabir laughed lightly and said - "So desperate to see me die is it Manav ? But.. I don't think your wish will come true..."
Manav grinned further and said -"Too Bad... hmm.. I couldn't see Ananya anywhere... She was crying her eyes out for the past few days and now when you finally managed to turn up .. much to our disappointment'... She is nowhere to be seen... odd isn't it?... Did Shreya manage to get to her ?...or did She dump you ?..."
Kabir took in a deep breath and said looking at his hands that were trembling by themselves - "She didn't dump me Manav... Don't worry... It's just that Ananya isn't aware that I managed to escape..."
Manav looked at Kabir intently and said after a minute - "Is it just me... or are you taking things way too lightly?... odd... I think the drugs have got to you..."
"Kabir !!!... Oh my... look at you!!!"- Anita explained loudly as she came inside along with Roni who was following behind her.
Kabir looked at Anita and Roni and then shifted his glace towards Manav who was now looking at his phone that was ringing.
Roni Said - "Sir.. I informed Aunty about what happened..."
Kabir looked at the duo once again. "Ma..."- Kabir said as Anita came towards him and looked into his eyes with worry.
She said touching his shoulder -"How are you Kabir ?... And why aren't you under medical supervision...? You look so pale and weak... I was shocked when I came to know how Shreya was the one behind all this... I never expected her to turn out like this..."
Kabir gave a weak smile and said -"No one would have expected it Ma... She is very manipulative.. and I am fine.. please don't worry... How are you?..."- He paused and looked at the door where she and Roni had just entered and asked slowly- "Where is Ananya?"
Anita looked at Roni. He quickly said trying to reassure the two and himself in the process- "Sir... I thought that Ananya might be home.. and that's why I called up aunty.. But she didn't go home too... I suppose she might me doing her lot of investigation all by herself..."
Anita shuck her head and said slowly - "From that night she hardly is herself... I Knew she was breaking down But she acted as if she was strong..walling off any sort of support... You know Kabir... she never came home on time .. she was either in office... or running about trying to find your whereabouts or.. she was waiting for you to return in your home... She kept telling that I know Kabir will come...But now when you have returned ... She is busy with her search still..."
" Where Is Ananya.. Kabir ?"
"Is she waiting outside?... Did you meet her ?..."
" No you didn't?... Then how did you know what I said was a lie Kabir?... how did you know Ananya is alive?"
"True... I lost... But you can't be so sure .. can you Kabir ?... Anyways... Please say Hi to Ananya when you see her... And do mention that she isn't to be blamed... It's all your fault !!!"

Kabir felt as if his heart forgot to pump blood.He felt life less for a second. He just turned towards Roni interrupting Anita who was telling something. He asked-" Did you call Tinu?..."
Roni looked at Kabir who seemed so different. He couldn't point out what but he felt a shiver pass through him when he saw the way Kabir was looking at him. He said -"Yes... Sir... I did... But he said that he is still in patna ...he did not return yet...So he dosen't Know where Ananya is... She was trying to find stuffs regarding your whereabouts all by herself sir... she even refused my help...Don't worry, she will come soon..."
"Is it just me... or are you taking things too lightly?... odd... I think the drugs have got to you..."
Kabir looked at Manav. He was busy talking to someone on the phone. Kabir's heart was beating so fast. He looked at Roni and Ananya's mom who were looking at him with worry. But he couldn't see them clearly.. his mind and brain were occupied with thoughts. He said to himself-"Ananya is way too smart... I know her... By now She would have found that it was Shreya who was behind all this... I know it... But then... where is she...?..."
Kabir could see Anita's lips move. She was saying something. But instead of hearing her voice he could remember Manav and Shreya's words.
"She is nowhere to be seen... odd isn't it?... Did Shreya manage to get to her ?..."
"how did you know what I said was a lie Kabir?... how did you know Ananya is alive?"
"She isn't to be blamed... It's all you fault !!!"
His facial expression changed from one showing doubt to one communicating unrestrained worry. Kabir realized at that moment that he had made a fatal mistake. He looked at Roni and Anita and said - "I have to go..."
Saying so he dashed out of the room leaving behind Roni and Anita shocked. Manav by now had disconnected the call. He looked at the duo and asked - " Did I miss something...? Why is he in such a hurry?"
~ ~ ~"Khalid GIVE me your car key's"- Kabir ordered the moment he entered Inspector Kurana's office.
Inspector Kurana looked up at Kabir... who looked like he was overworked and snowed over. Khalid turned his head around and asked quite surprised- "My car key's?... Why ?... What's the matter Kabir ?"
Kabir barked - "I didn't ask your FREAKING LIFE Khalid !! I asked for your car keys !!! Can you give it or not?"
Kurana's eyes widened. Khalid's eyes mimicked the same. Kurana asked slowly- "Kabir?... are you alright?"
Kabir was losing his patience. He fisted his hands and his eyes turned red. He opened his mouth to curse something but before words came out, Khalid extended his hand which had the car keys. He said - "I don't think your in the right form of health and mind..."
But before Khalid could complete his statement Kabir had snatched the car Keys and dashed out of the door.
"..to go out by yourself..."-Khalid completed his statement looking at the door through which Kabir had sprinted out.
Inspector Kurana stood up from his chair and said - "Oh.. God... I wish he didn't do anything stupid to Shreya... I should have sent a constable along with him when he went to meet her..."
Khalid swiftly looked up at Kurana who said nervously - "I better go and check..."
~ ~ ~Kabir sat in the car quickly and started the engine. His heart was beating so fast that he could hear them in his ears. His hands were shaking due to weakness. And he couldn't see properly. His whole body hurt and his breaths were pulsed and short.
Kabir reached for the water bottle and took in a gulp rapidly and said out to himself- " I have to be STRONG !!!... I have to Find Ananya...I have to FIND HER !!!"
He closed the water bottle and threw it on the co-passengers seat. He placed his hands on the steering wheel and accelerated making his way in the roads of Delhi. He was driving by impulse... involuntarily .. he didn't know what he was doing or where he was going .. the only thing that was in his mind was to find Ananya.. His Ananya...
Kabir was driving at full speed. His heart reciprocated the same. He felt like his world was coming to an end. "How could I have taken it so lightly when Ananya's mobile was switched off !!... Why didn't I bother to check if she was alright... How could I be so stupid !!... After all that Shreya did... Hurting Ananya is the smallest task for her..."- Kabir said out as he zoomed through the roads .
His body was so weak and it was giving up by every second but the urge to find Ananya was acting as his string to consciousness. "Why Am I feeling like something bad is going to happen?...What If ... What if something happened to her?...What if Shreya did something to her...What if I am too late..."- Kabir said as tears filled his eyes.
"Three years Kabir... Three years you were in coma... They told you will never wake up..."
"3 years ago you slapped Ananya and left her and ran away... The moment you slapped her .. She died... Ananya is dead Kabir..."
"" Ananya just fell down.. Her head hit the table... And you just walked out of the cabin as if nothing happened..."
"Kabir... It's true, Ananya is dead...and You were the reason for her death... Don't you remember?"
Kabir jammed the brake. He himself jerked forward and came back by reflex. He looked at the road in front of him. It was dark by now and the street lights were up. He said out-"What are you doing Kabir?...Where are you going ?...How can I fall for Shreya's words for the second time... How can I believe her...? She fooled me once and made me feel hell and she is doing the same with me now... She is playing games with me .. Making me feel pain!!!... Nothing could have happened to Ananya... If something had happened to Ananya then I would have known it... I would have felt it..."
Kabir paused.He touched his chest with his hands that were shaking like crazy.He felt so uneasy and empty. He said out slowly - "But... B-But why do I feel L-like something has happened ...Something bad... Oh God...W-Where are you Ananya ?...where are..."
That's when Kabir remembered what Anita told him some time back.
"From that night she hardly is herself... I Knew she was breaking down But she acted as if she was strong..walling off any sort of support... You know Kabir... she never came home on time .. she was either in office... or running about trying to find your whereabouts or.. she was waiting for you to return in your home... She kept telling that I know Kabir will come..."
"Yes..."- Kabir nearly burst out. "Yes... I should have guessed it...Ananya will be in my home!!... She will be waiting for me to return !!!... How did I Not guess it !!... I know Ananya is alright !!... I know My Ananya is alright!!"
He ignited the engine and accelerated at full speed.
~ ~ ~Kabir applied the brakes and stopped with a jerk. He jumped out of the car not bothering to even take the keys and lock the door. He ran towards his house throwing the gate open and saying to himself -"I am so angry on you Ananya... After I hug you the first thing I am going to do is shout at you Ananya... It's all your fault... why the hell did you leak the news to that stupid friend of yours and hide it from me ?... If only we hadn't fought that day... all this wouldn't have happened..."
He ran up to the porch that led to the front door and said -"Your going to pay Ananya for making me worry so much..."
And he placed his hand on the handle and suddenly he felt a sense on anxiousness and stress. "What If the door is locked... What is Ananya isn't here ?"- His mind said to himself.
Kabir closed his eyes and took in a deep breath. He paused for a second before turning the door knob.
And it turned open. His heart nearly did a summersault in joy. A smile crept on his face and his eyes lit up. He felt like he didn't need medications any longer. Kabir opened the door and shouted - "Ananya !!!... Look who finally managed to turn up!!! It's me... Your Editor in chief has come.. Miss.Kashyap... !!!"
His eyes were filled with happiness and his smile brought dimples on his cheeks. He waited for her response. He waited for Ananya to shout... exclaim ... come running and cry ... jump on him and hug him till he lost his breath.
But nothing of these sorts happened. The house was empty... pin drop silence.
Kabir's smile slowly started to fade away. He shuck his head lightly and called out again thinking that he wasn't loud enough the last time - "ANANYA... MISS. ANANYA KASHYAP... where are you?... See who has come !!!... Ananya..."
But then Kabir was given the same response. Pin drop silence. His heart started to beat quickly again and by now his smile had completely faded away. His throat went dry. His body felt weak all over and he said out once again but this time his voice was completely broken- " A-Ananya...Anan..."
And his knees gave in and he kneeled on the floor. He felt like his whole world had come crashing down. What would he do now?... Where was she ?... Was Shreya just playing mind games or was Manav right ?... What if he was too late...?
Kabir felt all weak and fragile. He couldn't breathe properly. His eyes were red and his hands were shaking again. What if?... What If?... Ananya was no more...
"NO!!.. NO ... I am wrong !!!... Nothing has happened to Ananya.. I can still feel her !!!.. You can't give up so easily Kabir !!!.. You can't.. She might have reached KKN... Yes..."- Kabir said out as he weakly tried to get up and stand.
But his heart was portraying another emotion. It didn't have any hope left... But somewhere deep down Kabir wasn't ready to give up. He could give up on anything.. but he could never give up on his Ananya... No couldn't...
He got up with so much struggle. The health and strength that came to him when he assumed Ananya was there in his house had disappeared way back. Now he was left with only pain and weakness.
Kabir slowly turned around and walked towards the door. He held the handle and took a step out to close it.
""Kabir... ...""
"Ananya"-Kabir whispered out. He turned around immediately and looked at his house that was void of any other existence except of his.
"I heard her... I heard her so clearly..."- Kabir murmured. He called out yet again but the weakness, sadness , and stress had completely taken a toll on is voice -"A-Ananya !!..."
Kabir shuck his head and turned around again with his shoulders stooped low. But then his heart was feeling so uneasy. Somewhere deep down a voice said him not to go... It said him he would regret if he went away from this place... it said him that his Ananya was waiting for him here...
Kabir just turned around and started walking towards his bed room. He felt like some force was taking him there. He felt like his legs weren't controlled by him anymore. He just walked .. stumbled and went towards his bed room and he looked at his bed expecting to see Ananya sitting there smiling at him.
But There wasn't Any Ananya and his bed was empty and the same way he had left it days back.
Kabir closed his eyes shut. But then his eyelids flung open the moment the sight he had seen in the corner of his eyes registered in his brain.
"ANANYA"- Was what he shouted when he ran towards Ananya who was in the floor like a lifeless body.
He went down on his knees with a thud and cupped her cheeks in his hands. He shuck her and almost shouted- "Ananya ... wake up !!!! Ananya...!!!! ANANYA !!"
But then she didn't move an inch nor did she stir. Kabir could feel his cheeks get wet and his hands shaking. He snaked his hands around her and hugged her shouting - "ANANYA... Please wake up!!!...Please !!!... See I have come !!!... I am absolutely fine !!! ANANYA !!... P-Please !!!..."
Kabir broke the hug and looked at Ananya's face that was so pale and weak. Her eyes had evidence of having cried .. and the wound on her forehead was now dry and bulged. Kabir couldn't feel anything. His mind went completely blank. He tried creasing her cheeks but his hands were shaking so badly.
"O-Oh...O-oh God... Ananya...A-Ananya please... Please just wake up !!..."- Kabir cried out as tears felt his eyes.
And that's when he saw her eye move under her eyelids. Kabir froze. He couldn't hear nor feel anything... But he was sure he saw her eye ball move under her eyelids. He immediately touched her neck and tried to feel her pulse. But his hands were trembling and shivering. His chest was heaving up and down and then after much effort he felt her weak pulse.
And that very moment Kabir Carried her up in his arms and rushed out of his house not giving a damn of how bad his body ached.

~ EPILOGUE Abhi Baki Hei Meri dost ~Authors' Note - Did you notice that instead of "Picture" I wrote "Epilogue"? Ya!! This is the last chapter of THE MEMORY. And surely an Epilogue is on its way.
That's the reason why I gave that dramatic Thank you address at the Start. I didn't want to give in that you were about to read the last chapter.. because it tends to hinder with the reading experience.
I am so nervous right now because I had picturised the end way before I picturised the other parts of the Fiction and somewhere deep down I feel I wasn't able to do much justice ! But I hope I didn't disappoint you all !
Like I said before THE MEMORY is very close to my heart and you all made it more special to me. Thankyou for that.
In a blink of an eye and its reached its last chapter . Damn Am I feeling heavy or what?
And yes, Please don't worry the loose ends will be dealt with in the Epilogue. I promise. Because How much ever I enjoy giving cliff hangers... I will never end a fiction like the Movie Inception. I ain't so evil.

PS- Did you notice ... The banner despites the last scene... Only one thing is different. In the last scene Ananya is unconscious. ( I can't possibly call Rajeev and Kritika for a photo shoot right? ) *sticks tongue out*
