Part-10

He was hidden behind the files. All she could see were his hair. It was still long, but it was brushed back and gelled, not unruly like it was before. From what she could see he was wearing a dark blue/black suit with a marvelous blue silk tie. He didn't look like his dad, she thought, instead he had a caring and professional attitude, and was clearly busy and immersed in what he was doing.

"May I have a seat, sir?" again the ridiculousness of the question struck her. She couldn't believe that Anvesha Banerjee Ray was not only being very polite to him, she actually respected him.

He barely glanced up as he nodded indicating her to a seat. He clearly didn't recognize her voice, and she knew she wouldn't have recognized his either if she didn't know it was him.

He finally finished whatever he was doing on the computer and put down his file.

"I am sorry to keep you waiting. First of all, welcome to France and the capital. I daresay you would like working here."

He looked so different, stressed and in some ways depressed. But he didn't glance at her once, it was as if he was talking to himself.

"Thank you, sir." Her patience was reaching its optimum. She wanted to scream his name out.. she wanted to rush forward and hug him and kiss him ..

Finally, he seemed ready to talk to his interviewee.

"And your name is.."

"Anvesha.. Anvesha Banerjee Ray."

He spun around. Yes.. it was her. It was Ashi. Ashi.. the girl about whom he had dreamt day and night.. he had always relished this moment.. that it would be a complete surprise..they would be lost in each others' eyes.. and he would kneel down in front of her, hold her hand and kiss it.. and later on propose to her in a hall full of tulips.. and sing to her the most romantic song .. and lift her in his arms and never let her go..
