Idiot.Moron.Rude.Obnoxious fool.What does he think of himself?Splashed coke on my face.That MORON!!!'said Rashi.
Dear,this is the hundredth time you are telling this.',said Tina shaking her head.
I don't know.He,he was just irritating and nothing else.Coke spilling moron!',said Rashi.
Forget it,dear.This is a bad day,really.First that professor friend of yours,what's his name?Oh yes,Mr Nirmalaya .Kept us waiting all day.And then that moron.By the way,what's his name?',asked Tina.
Tina,I don't care what his name is.I just don't want to speak about him.',said Rashi crossly.
Chill,Rashi.We are home now.I have an idea.Why don't we have a slumber party?Just you,me and Falguni.',suggested Tina.
Not a bad idea.',said Rashi agreeing with her.
They reached home and the moment they entered the house,Rashi collapsed in the sofa.
God,I am sooo tired.',she said.
Just then a butler arrived carrying a tray with two glasses.
Ma'm,would you like to have some Coke?',asked the butler
Rashi looked at the glass of coke as if it was an atom bomb.
No,no.Not again!!!!',she screamed and ran towards her room followed by an exhausted Tina.
That night when they all gathered in Tina's room for their slumber party,Rashi and Tina narrated the day's events to Falguni.
We waited for the professor but he did not come'
That moron splashed coke on my face.'
We saw the Qutub Minar..'
That shameless moron was grinning.'
Prof Nirmalaya called and sai..'
That moron did not even apologise.'
Calm down,girls!!! Don't speak together.Its so confusing.Tina,you tell me what happened?And Rashi,what is the matter with this so called moron ?You can't stop talking about him.',said Falguni
Well,the matter is that Professor Nirmalaya did not come and would be coming tomorrow and Rashi met some guy who accidently splashed coke on her face and now she is completely mad at him.',explained Tina.
Mad??? I am FURIOUS!!! He was an absolute moron and nothing else.',said Rashi
Well,forget about that moron or whoever he is.Tell me something.Did you meet Nikhil?',asked Falguni
No.He did not come.I have called him to the hotel for lunch tomorrow.',said Rashi
Hotel? Which hotel are you talking about?',asked Falguni.
Oh,Falguni!!! Alok uncle who is Rashi's dad owns The Opal chain of hotels.Isn't that amazing??',said Tina.
I see.I see.So,you are meeting Nikhil at The Opal tomorrow.',asked Falguni.
Yup!!! By the way,Falguni,you seem upset.What happened?',asked Rashi.
Upset??No!! Not at all.Its just that I am sleepy.Lets go to sleep now.',said Falguni
Okay.Let's sleep.',said Rashi who was still unsure about Falguni.
Rashi s eyelids dropped and as sleep approached her she saw those two orbs again.It was nothing new.Whenever she closed her eyes be it to sleep or in prayer,she found her gaze locked with a pair of orbs.They were not exactly orbs.There was a certain longing in them.It was as if they displayed various emotions.Sometimes inquisitiveness.Sometimes hope.Sometimes a sense of belonging.Affection.A sense of security.She saw her reflection in those orbs.Orbs? Orbs was certainly not the precise term to describe them.They were not exactly orbs.They were...a pair of eyes.Emerald eyes.She loved those eyes even if they appeared for a moment before her.They were her lucky charm.Those beautiful emerald eyes.Just then another image came into her mind.The image of a guy standing in front of her holding a half-full coke bottle in his hand.His eyes were ...she didn't know...simply identical.She admonished herself for thinking like that.The pair of eyes which she saw were divine.Emerald green.But so were the moron's eyes.She quickly brushed those thoughts aside allowed sleep to overcome her.
Meanwhile,in the very same city,a young,emerald eyed man was trying really hard to sleep.He could not understand his own situation.He was tired.He wanted to sleep.But he couldn't.
Look,if you are interested to sleep here then please do so.I am going downstairs.You sleep here on the roof with the mosquitoes for company .',said a grumbling Vicky.
Carry on nagging like this and one fine day I will believe that you are my wife',said Arihant.
Ari,be thankful that I am not your wife.My nagging is nothing compared to a wife's.And moreover no girl on this earth has the patience to tolerate your moodswings.Sometimes The Humayun's Tomb,sometimes The India Gate and sometimes The Qutub Minar.It is I who accompanies you everywhere.If it were a girl in my place,then she would have divorced you by now.',said Vicky.
Chalo,as a reward for your patience,I will give you a treat tomorrow.',said Arihant.
Treat? Yippee!! But all of a sudden,yeh treat ka khayal kaise aaya?',asked Vicky.
I don't know.Man ki Marziyan,marziyon ka man kuch aisa hi hai..no!!! Not again!!!',exclaimed Arihant.
What?? What happened??',asked Vicky sounding worried.
I don't know,yaar.Its this line.It has revolving in my head ever since I was a child.But I could never ever complete it.I have a strong feeling line that I know this entire line by heart but I simply can't remember the entire thing.Its as if I am dialing someone but I have forgotten the number.Or as if someone is jamming the signal.I don't understand.Its so frustrating!!',said Arihant.
Ari,I think that you should sleep now.Good night and sweet dreams!!',said Vicky.
Good night ,my friend.And sweet dreams to you too.But not to me.I am not in a mood for sweet dreams now.',said Arihant.
Then,what do you want?',asked Vicky.
To be honest,I will prefer a nightmare.',said Arihant grinning.And then he too drifted off to sleep.
The next day,Rashi left for The Opal along with Falguni and Tina.The Opal group of hotels was one of the biggest hotel chains in the world.The Opal was present in every major city of the world.And in India,there was an Opal in ten places altogether.The hotel chain was named after her mom's favourite gemstone.Her father was a self made man and had set up his business on his own.But his motivating force was always her mother.
When they entered the hotel,they were greeted by the manager,Mr Patel.
Welcome,Miss Agarwal.Welcome to your hotel'.,said Mr Patel.
Thank you,Mr Patel.We are going to the restaurant.I am expecting a guest.',said Rashi.
You don't have to worry about anything Ma'm.The staff will take care of everything.',said Mr Patel.
Outside the hotel,Arihant was standing along with Vicky who looked nervous.
Ari,are you sure that you want to go there.Come on,Ari!! It's a five star hotel.We can eat somewhere else.',said Vicky.
Vicky,you are hopeless.I am in a mood to eat here and no force on earth can stop me.',said Arihant confidently.
Rashi,Tina and Falguni were sitting in the restaurant waiting for Mr Nirmalaya.Falguni was looking pale and was not paying attention to any conversation.
Falguni,Falguni,are you listening?',asked Tina.
Yyyes.I am fine.There is no need to worry.By the way,Tina,do you remember that you had borrowed a novel from me?Where have you kept it?',asked Falguni.
Novel?Let me remember.Oh yes,I kept it in Rashi'room last night.Yes,its there.',said Tina.
Great!! Guys,I have to go.I am not feeling well.',said Falguni.
Again?Is it something serious?I think you should consult a doctor.',said Rashi.
No.There is no need of that.I just need some rest.Okay,guys,bye.See you later.',said Falguni and she hurried off from the place.
Rashi found that strange.Why did Falguni leave the place in a such hurry?Who knows?Ten minutes later,Mr Nirmalaya arrived.Rashi was glad to see him.
Finally!! Mr Nirmalaya.Its good to meet you.',said Rashi.
Mr Nirmalaya sat with them and Rashi introduced him to Tina.
Hi,Mr Nirmalaya.I am Tina,Rashi's cousin.',said Tina
It's a pleasure to meet you.And please call me Nikhil.'
Okay,Nikhil.And you can call us by our names too.',said Rashi.
Okay,Rashi.',said Nikhil and they exchanged their documents.Rashi was relieved to have her papers and so was Nikhil to have his thesis documents .
I am glad that I got these back.These are really important.',said Nikhil
Yes,I agree.I read your thesis,Nikhil and it is extremely good.I hope you didn't mind me reading it.',said Rashi.
Of course not!! By the way,you already must be knowing about the topic of this thesis.The first female monarch of the Delhi Sultanate.Razia Sultan.A great lady in every way.I have spent half of my life researching on history and none of the monarchs have fascinated me more than her.She was certainly ahead of her time.',said Nikhil.
Rashi nodded.She couldn't describe it but she felt extremely happy when Nikhil praised Razia.She did not know why,though.She felt as if he was appreciating her.
When Falguni reached home,Ira aunty had gone out for a party.She decided to get her novel from Rashi's room and finish it.She was lucky that she had got out of there as soon as possible.The sooner this matter ended,the better it was for everyone.She opened the door to Rashi's room and entered it.It was completely dark.But before she could turn on the lights,someone hugged her from behind.
SURPRI...ouch!!!',screamed that person.It was a man.
Falguni had immediately turned back and hit him hard.She turned on the lights and continued to punch him.He was trying to say something but she was not in a mood to listen.She dragged him out of the room.
What do you think of yourself?I know people like you.How did you even get into this place???',she shouted at him
Look,there is a misunderstanding.Listen to me..OUCH!!!',he was trying to say.
Ronnie couldn't understand what was happening.He had planned to surprise his sister but now he himself was getting the shock of his life.In a fraction of seconds,he was dragged and beaten up.And that too,in his own aunt's house.Now,he was wondering whether he had got into the wrong house.
Falguni dragged him to the hall.Ira aunty had just returned from her party and she was shell-shocked.
Oh dear...Falguni..what is going on?',asked Ira aunty.
Aunty,this man was hiding in Rashi's room.I think that we should call the police immediately.',said Falguni.
I don't think so,dear.Ummm,there has been some misunderstanding,I guess.Ronnie,this is Falguni,Rashi's friend and Falguni,this is Rashi's twin brother,Ronnie Agarwal.',said Ira aunty.
Falguni was dumbfounded.What had she done? She looked at him apologetically.
Ronnie was stable now.He was out of the momentary trauma that this ordeal had put him into.He looked up and now saw the face of his attacker.She was standing before him looking guilty.He should have reacted like a normal man does.Either get angry or try to understand the situation.But strangely,he was not feeling like that.He stood there with his mouth open.He simply stared at her.
Back in the hotel,Rashi and Tina were discussing about Razia Sultan with Nikhil.
You know,I read a bit about this Razia too.',said Tina.
Really?So,what are your views on her?',asked Nikhil.
Yeah,she was this cool and awesome girl.But her personal life was really sad.',said Tina.
Why?What makes you think like that?',asked Nikhil.
Well,her personal life was like a typical Bollywood movie.Love,separation,twists and turns.She was in a relationship with this guy,Yaqut.Both were happy.And then this big bad guy comes out of nowhere.What's his name?Yes,Altunia.And then the usual drama.This villain plots and kills Yaqut.She is forced to marry Altunia and in the end she dies.All because of that Altunia.Really,he certainly was a vill...
TINA!!!! Don't ever speak about Altunia like that!!!! He was not a villain!!! He was her childhood friend.He always stood by her side.He helped her in each and every problem.It was only due to misunderstandings that they fell apart.And she never loved this Yaqut.He was her friend and nothing.And in those days even a woman talking to man was considered scandalous.You should understand that!!! Don't speak a word against Altunia!!!'shouted Rashi angrily.Her eyes were red.
Everyone in the restaurant was staring at them.It took a few seconds for Rashi to realise that.She herself couldn't understand what had happened just now.She had shouted on Tina.And because of whom?Because of a character?Altunia?
Tina,I am sorry.I didn't realise what I was doing.I was completely out of my mind...
Rashi,its okay.Calm down.Calm down.Have some water.Its really strange.What happened?This is the very first time that you have behaved like this.',said Tina.
Its fine.Tina,I am sorry once again.I think I need some fresh air.I am going to the garden.Please excuse me.',said Rashi and she left.
I am so worried.What happened to her?We have quarreled many times.But this was something different.',said Tina.
Maybe,she was just voicing her opinions in an aggressive manner.And Tina,even I will say that a lot of your facts were incorrect.',said Nikhil.
Its not about the facts or opinions,Nikhil.Rashi was never like this.She did not look like as if she was just voicing her opinions.',said Tina in a concerned manner
Then what could be the matter?',asked Nikhil.
Tina shrugged.
I don't know.Rashi,Rashi reacted as if I had not insulted Altunia but her own boyfriend.'
