Pitch in please!

Hi all,

I have no idea about the 'T' of TRPs, or the 'M' of Marketing or the 'P' of Promotions.

All I know is we are a HUGE family, love our own shows and are disappointed with the current rating system. We are emotionally, more importantly, financially drained, irrespective of our choices. I would like to have a number, a ball-park figure, to know how many of us are in the same boat, by the end of the day.

I am here to gather information for a greater cause,

1. Suggest inclusion of International viewership into the calculation of TRPs

2. Highlight the expensive subscription of the overseas audiences

3. Suggest inclusion of online viewership into the current system, if possible.

The information I would like all of you to share is,

1. Your username

2. Your subscription medium, package installed

3. The monthly expense for the subscription, irrespective of the currency

4.Is or not the YT channel accessible in your region?

BTW we don't watch telly anymore, we all watch our programmes online, which I know a lot of people here in the UK do. I think it's an increasing trend here.

...in India most cities are replacing cable TV with dishes/ satellite set top boxes...

Since satellite is used for broadcast, the recipients of.the signals at a particular time frame can be easily counted!! Entire India could be covered instead of few trp meters!! This can greatly impact trps!! Rural India might not be included for now but Urban cities can definitely add to.the trps of any show for that matter... Rural India at a later point in time can become satellite recipients!! Number of satellite recipients who tune into Colors at 9.30 pm from Mon to Fri can be the exact trp of Rangrasiya!!
