Diya, lovely post... I loved how you showed Paor's Thought process... Nice..
There is so much darkness in Rudra's heart and life. He got so used to it that he is scared to let it go. He is confused about what might happen if he tries to move on... Now after 15 years he sees light in that darkness... And instead of moving towards it, Rudra decides to sit down, staring at it... Because, it is too good to be true for him... Because, he never saw how beautiful light is... Because, he forgot what it is to be happy... Because, he is afraid that in the process of walking towards that light, he might lose sight of it, that he might end up in darkness again.. And, he can't take that risk. No.. So, he doesn't want to fill his life with light... He is happy where he is.. Happy from knowing that there is light. Thus, he decides to sit and stare at it than move towards light which will completely erase any darkness in his life and fill it with Brightness... That is Rudra for me... And Paro, is trying to guide him to that light, ensuring him at each step he took, that he is not alone... That she will not leave his hand.. That she will help him reach his destination. Even forcing him to take a step forward at times.. All because he, her Rudra, deserves more happiness in his life than what he already has.. he deserves to see the light... To enjoy life .. he deserves to feel loved, cared and cherished.
If you are sick and have the medicine in your hand... Your loved ones are telling you that your pain will reduce if you take it. But you don't believe them and stubbornly refuse to take that bitter pill down your throat... What do the person who loves you do? Sit and wait for you to change your mind? Let you suffer till you let go of yours stubbornness? Or do what is best for you and force that pill down your throat.. That is what our parents did to us. That is what we do to our children. That is what we do to our grandparents and parents... Situations might be a bit different but sometimes we take action for our loved one.. Whether they appreciate it or not, like it or not. Because in those situations there is no right or wrong action.. All that matters is the happiness of your loved one. I feel Paro is doing the same.. Rudra is being stubborn to accept to himself that Mala matters to him... I don't blame him... He is scared to let go and move on because it would only remind him of the hurt.. Make his wounds of 15 years, fresh.. He is right in his stance of not wanting to look back at those wounds. But he is forgetting that in the process of repressing his hurt, he is also blocking out his happiness related to his past, present and future..
And, Rudra's happiness is very important to Paro. It must be, as she loves him deeply. It is really painful to see our loved one suffering and hurting every single minute... You feel their pain, you feel the urge to get rid of it ASAP, you want to make them happy, for them to smile and you will be ready to do everything in your power to make that happen...Wouldn't we all? We must also realize, for Paro to do what she is doing is not an easy thing... She is hurting and suffering, in the process too. But she is ok with falling in the eyes of family members.. She is ok with the hurt she is feeling, she is ok with hurting others in the process, she is ok with everything ... Because, all that matters to her is his happiness.
Like Maithili said, "Rudra will be pissed when he knows the truth. He will do his thandav." I agree. And he has the right to be pissed... I would be too. But when he cools down, when he finally lets go of his past, he will realize why Paro did what she did. He will understand. And that is what Paro feels... If he can accept to himself that Mala is still his mother, that he still cares for her, then all her actions, good or bad... It doesn't matter. The end justifies the means.
