NB, was reminded of your observations on the Gopi-Vau remarriage episode as I watched RR today (I hope I'm not getting it wrong in thinking it was YOU who commented in some threads in surprise and shock over doping the "would-be" bride in that show to then get her to "walk" to the mandap? 😕) But the "fainted and still walking" Laila reminded me of the same. The least the director could have done was to get her to "drag" her feet (given that for all the chivalrous officer that he is, Rudra would in no way carry her in due deference to viewer sentiments than to the state of his right hand 😉) That shows what RR has turned into and speaks a lot for "getting the right guidance". But then, I expected a little more of reasoning and intervention from Ashish Sharma too since he has since long made his interest in direction so evident and so public. A future director needs to get his basics straight right now, what say? All in the interest of future actors under this director getting the right guidance. 😊
At the risk of inviting poisonous laddoos, I would say that dialogues and screenplay in the last month seem more eager to portray Rudra as Mohini's saucy third bahu than a "Majorsaab". A TRP gamble no doubt, but can we let the man be a man?

Same here. Neither a fan of Ashish or Sanaya. In fact, don't believe in the whole 'fan' thing.

ST has a very twisted view of what the army, and armymen are all about. Its not just the uniform. it is much more than that.

i know what you mean

i dont know whether i should say this but are actors even important in this industry
i see really popular actors of trp topper shows not getting any work in a few years
actors are a part of the whole product
most of the times not so significant , sad but true
i dont think an amazing performance by an actor is noticed or credited so much in the real world unlike movies
it is not fair agreed , but what to do
but story writers , makers there is lots of popularity very good platform
reach is good , should avoid such stereotyping from no where

He's a good actor but his emotional scenes come across as ... unnatural ... and tad over the top as you said

Born in an MH, and so were the kiddos. As close as you can get. 😊

Yes, armymen are normal human beings too, and they too have emotions. Exactly the reason why I took a strong dislike to ST's comment that armymen have low EQ. My issue is the way Rudra's character has been morphed into. A shrewd man who could pick on the smallest signal. Shaatir dimaag if you will. Something that works in spurts now.

Coming to the play of emotions, I had no issues with the first 'mirror scene' breakdown or the one where he found out about his mom being Tejawat's wife. Today's breakdown did not make any sense. Its not the first time he spoke about his mom. Do we come to expect that each time he talks of his mom, there is going to be a breakdown? Too much of something is an overkill.

The point of today's scene as i see it was to show Rudra baring his emotions to Paro...he has not done it in front of Paro before this atleast when he is in his senses. He was about to tell Paro how for so many years he lived in hatred of his mom and never wanted her to come back in his life but she did and how...ofcourse the phone call interrupted when he was abt to tell abt Tejawat and his mom.

But i respect your opinion if you thought it did not make sense.

I must say Ashish doesn't look pretty when he cried, I normally I'm just not used to man crying all the time. This is the first show I'm watching where the male actor cries more than the female.
That's why I'm not such a huge Devdas fan. Man crying is just not my cup of tea nor my daily dose.

Ashish is good in all other scenes expect emotional scenes aren't just his thing.

While i find Ashish to be a good actor and not OTT in emotional scenes, i am glad to see a critique post on his acting. That is what actors are there for...i am sure if Ashish reads this feedback it will help him to improve more. No actor is perfect and there is always scope for improvement...fans need to take such posts in the right spirit.

It use to be bearable before but after the wedding drama episode it's becoming too much and unbearable.

Ok I love Asish and think he does an amazing job but I am sick of the crying! Sorry to offend anyone. I just can take so much of a supposedly emotionally stunted character crying constantly. I told a friend this a month ago! Lol. Love Rudra. More anger even! but less crying please!!!!

Ashish is a good actor, but he needs to tone down his emotional scenes.
It's a combination of director and actor that creates the impact on a scene.
Even if he tends to go too overboard, the director should instruct him.

Because of that I wasn't quite moved by Rudra's tears today. I actually looked away.
Hope he takes this as constructive feedback

Agree! Totally OTT the last few emotional breakdowns have been...

Ashish is a good actor - I've seen a few of the other shows too but he really needs to work on the emotional scenes...'less is more'...subtle expression changes with voice modulation n dialogues should do...no need to go OTT crying n shaking every time one has to convey angst...

Also today's breakdown seemed unwarranted - where did it come from...I got it till the part where he saw how much Paro cares for him, Aman & his dad make him realise how much she loves him, he begins to think he has feelings for her and that realization makes him emotional...he knows how he is n doesn't want to hurt her...but after that the whole mother scene was unnecessary...

Forget about the concept of male leads crying (I'm not against it at all)...its just too much crying in general for that character...Rudra hasn't been sketched out like that in the series so this sudden bursts of OTT emotional scenes feels weird n forced...I would think him expressing it through anger & frustration would be better suited to the character than crying at the drop of a hat!!

Anyway if they do insist on showing us more of these scenes...Ashish might as well brush up on the art of expressing more subtly...like him a lot in rest of the scenes otherwise...he can really use his eyes n eyebrows to express well...wonder what happens to him in emo scenes...hmmm!

I don't know enough about filming to know who's going wrong here with the OTT breakdowns. I'm assuming it's a directors job to guide the actor to give the best performance and at the end of the day it's the director's vision of the screenplay that he's given that the actors bring to life. Ashish is a good actor and he's one of the few who can convey a hundred meanings just with his eyes or a slight movement of his lips or a flicker of emotion on his face, so there's no need for such theatrics every time.
What was the difference between the breakdown he had when Paro sang a song his mom used to sing and today when he was on the verge of opening up to Paro...there should have been some difference and I think that was the directors job to show that. Personally I think Rudra has too many breakdowns and I preferred the man who poured whisky over his bullet wounds but if that's how the cv's envision him then fine but don't turn him into a wuss.
