I didn't want to make this post yesterday given anyone with criticism of either of the actor gets termed as the other leads fans. But today after watching the episode, sadly I'm not going t stop myself from doing so.
I have liked Ashish's acting from the beginning, in fact have even called him the brightest amongst the cast of RR in the beginning. But recently his performance has been dare I say over the top. I'm not sure if its because the way the character of Rudra breaks down at the drop of a hat or whether the actor is not getting the right guidance. But recently his emotional scenes have been very blehhh.

And too much of anything can get boring, so can we get a respite from his zillion break down scenes in every other episode, please?

P.S- Less of the eyebrow twitching too please. 😊

Agree, I dont find Ashsish Sharma good in emotional scenes , he becomes overboard and OTT
For Example Today in the first scene, All i could see was the pissing of dialogues and moving necksđŸ˜” without any impact

Does he love her, or not? Does he want to tell her about who's the mommy, or not? Does he hate her? Is he confused? Is he emo? Is he sad? Is he worried about the health of someone?
Aapka jawaab: he cries. Like a baby. Any problem, and bawls.

Subtlety gayi paani mein. He wasn't even drunk today, what brought it on? And then, what is the difference between the drunk scenes, the daddy burnt scene, mommy discovery scene, and today? Really, itna bhi kya ho gaya?

Frankly, the first couple of times he cried, I was mighty impressed. You know why? Coz generally crying is a taboo for men- on film, or otherwise. I was glad they weren't shying away from showing the genuine breakdown which is universal- not gender specific. But this is too much. And I can say with certainty- had Paro, or any other female character had reacted in this manner, with no trigger as such, I would have pointed that out too. Par Paro react kab karti hai?

Today, I was mostly like: what the hell is wrong with Rudra?

I didn't see intense. I just laughed, I'm pretty sure that wasn't the intended effect.

Before people bash me for my blasphemy, I shall make a speedy exit.

I love Ashish, but Rudra's cry baby attitude is getting 1D now.

Okaybye.

EDITED: Let's do a quick run down of what happened that triggered this reaction- Paro brought medicines to the BSD. Aman and Dilsher teased him. He thought he's in love with Paro. Not saying no reaction was warranted. But did the reaction have to go this far? Is it at par with Dilsher being in the hospital, or his sacking, or finding out about Mala? There needs to be relative balance, is all.

NB- I fell the same for a few days now but don't want to make a post on it to created a drama I wish he would toned it down and go back to the first 4 weeks of RR I find him good in the mirror break down & doll scene but nowadays his breakdowns are way TOO OTT... It use to be bearable before but after the wedding drama episode it's becoming too much and unbearable.

The first time Rudra's character broke down in the show I remember arguing against a bunch of members about a man having as much right as a woman to cry.

But that doesn't mean I want to see him crying every other episode. If tears and break-down is what I want, I might as well watch Gopi Bau. Just because its a man who does the crying and not the woman doesn't make it any bearable.

And I'm going to repeat myself to the point of exhaustion- is this a story of Rudra, his past and his pain or a story of Rudra and Paro's love?

Think of it this way - Rudra is a person going through a major emotional upheavel right now and he has been since that night he broke down in Paro's arms at BSD and since his uniform was taken away. After that there have been other moments but majorly he is going through a tough time where he has realized some massive truths - A. Paro loves him B. His mother married Thakur - the man he is trying to fight and the man who is trying to kill him and how does he know that his mother isnt aware of Thakur's real face? C. Someone tried to kill his father D. He has feelings for Parvati E. Someone is trying to harm him and/or his wife E. He has wronfully punished Parvati yet again in case of losing job at BSD.
Any person would be emotionally distraught with so many things going on. That state of mind will be the major one with everything else on the sidelines so why should he not be breaking down when he finally admits the biggest truth to the woman he has fallen in love with but if afraid of hurting and beinh hurt - that he is trying to move on but his past wont let him?

I really dont think the CVs are going overboard with the track. Rather they are maintaining a continuity of emotions and character which is quite rare in television.

As far as Ashish's acting is concerned, I like it and I think he is doing complete justice to the role of Rudra.

I completely agree with u and NB!

I love his acting in romance scenes, when he is sarcastic. He is awesome in them!

BUT emotional scenes are too theatrical and overboard and OTT!
And first breakdown I was thinking was very good.

But from them on he just became a rothlu cry baby! I mean hell a compassionate man is fine, but a man who cries at the drop of a hat? Its WEIRD!! period!

And Ashish overdoes it!
Writers are wrong to write so many weepy scenes for him when that is jsut overkill.

But Ashish adds to it by going OTT and totally stage drama like. Maybe its his what do u call that trained actor thing - but on TV its way too much!
He needs to act more spontaneous and normal And that director needs to get his act together n stop him from going OTT and tell him to tone it down!

And finally Mr. Hedge, make him a man - who is compassionate, who feels and shows emotions, BUT not a cry baby! Seeing a full grown army man crying for every damn thing makes him look like a wuss! And Rudra should be anything but that!! đŸ„±
