Hello friends
This post is my personal opinion and it need not be accepted by the rest!
Today I write not as a viewer but as a woman and its not to malign any one serial or PH! Its addressed in general!
Having said that, I wish to bring to your notice that I was one of the first to post an an appreciation of the theme of Rang Rasiya and its the only serial I follow! Please do understand that I write this post with a heavy heart! I would still watch it but...
I feel that love is not only support and appreciation but also standing up when things are not potrayed well!
Today's episode! I dunno how they are going to bring a twist etc... Frankly its just a show and we are supposed to enjoy it!
From the very first episode I liked the potrayal of women in Rang Rasiya! They showed all shades ranging from Thakuraayin Maasa( We still dunno why she left Rudra! But there appears a good reason for it) to her sister who is treacherous and selfish! A very innocent Sunehri to a very balanced and soft hearted Maithili!
Paro was potrayed as naive yet a very strong woman with some substance! She was gullible yet she remained staunch in her integrity as well as her character! Another refreshing thing was Paro was shown as a women with a strong conviction and bless the PH as a woman with feelings who could tell a man she liked him and wanted him to be her partner! So far so good!
But I was disappointed by today's episode! This is becoming a habit with our tele shows where the hero gets drunk and gets married to the lady! Now to the point! Give me a million reasons but why show it that way! Marriage is a very sacred union of two souls in our culture and they are making a mockery of it! Today for the umpteenth time I saw a woman being dragged around the fire in the name of marriage and is that my Paro who stood the test of fate and won her destiny back who was dragged like cattle????
Yes I agree she loves Rudra and he also loves her but thats not done! Many follow these shows and what message are we sending to the next generation! They could have shown that he married by deciet! Even thats ok... given the plot to teach her a lesson but... this way? NO!
Women suffer! We all know! But wellw e need not see it again and again and that too in a demeaning way !I personally work with destitute women and seen a few who face worse than this! But well can we atleast have our shows free of this concept of getting married and sorting out?
Oh! Its a plot no doubt but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth that some one is dragged by a drunk man and subjected to such treatment making a mockery of a very sacred ceremony!
My open request to The PHs and the serial makers! Please there are scores of plots to explore I am sure you can come out with scores of scenarios for the hero to marry the lady and then get to know the truth etc! Why do this all the time!
Please let us give a very strong message to everyone out there to stop showing such demeaning stuff in the name of love and entertainment!
I wish people like this post to express solidarity with me!
If you want to bash me its ok! I apologise if anyone is offeneded by this post!I shall take it! But the fact remains!
Enjoy and express!
