She can be naive, innocent, inexperienced etc. etc. But she should feel like a girl who is in the threshold of womanhood. Just like Khushi. I loved Khushi because even though she was crazy, talkative, adventurous which are so not my own traits, but i can relate to her as a girl. She felt hurt at the right places, felt angry at the right places, forgave Arnav at the right places. The problem here is that I can't stomach that paro is SO unfazed in front of Rudra's constant stream of abuse. Love is a two way process. I still think she is in the phase of realising her love for Rudra - she is still not IN love, but on the way to it. She is convinced that Rudra is her soul mate, but to fall in love she has a long way to go. She has not seen all the facets of Rudra. She will see them, one by one, will have to try so hard to get to know them, and she WILL get hurt many many times during that process because Rdura is actively resisting her "getting-to-know" mission. Getting hurt is totally okay - I am not a feminist, i am all for intense love stories, and I can handle torture and injustice. But the slow process of falling in love should be believable.

She was so much more relatable before the mela fiasco. She had a real inner conflict with her mind and heart going on, whether to hate the Jallad or believe the brief glimpses of real Rudra she saw. But now... I dunno.

Ah, was studying while randomly logged in to IF and saw this... hope i am making sense. Please tell me your thoughts on this.

aahh i can so relate to u!🤗 I was just there till this Wednesday episode aired!!

Well here is the thing - This story was always told us by ST to be 'Paro's journey' and this Paro he has managed to create is a creature that is in a far far away village.
She has never stepped out of her village, has not ever used a phone - cz she has never had a person to talk to over the phone, does not get a newspaper to read, doesn't have books to read, hasn't gone to school since she left it in 5th grade!

Now imagine 24hrs-365 days and about 12yrs with nothing else except her embroidery and taking care of her mamisa, talking with her friend Bindi & jija, being with her Thakuranimasa, going to the mandir to pray, listening to the mythological stories, same stories again and again - that is all her life has been.
This girl doesn't know, that anything else in life exists.
Even Bindi - who seemed less placid was so so naive! that is cz if u did not know anything else existed and if in her life 'don't see my face' means simply 'don't see my face' and NOT 'I don't like u' she would believe the former and not the latter even now!
that is why she was shocked when Rudra told her he hated her yesterday!

here too - the initial moment when Rudra said those 2 words to her she felt hurt, her eyes filled with tears.. She gives a feeling of someone kicking a tiny innocent puppy and we feel the urge to go and protect her.

But the thing is this impossible girl is real for the background she comes in.
One native example - think of our 'vadda people' that live in the jungles? if a girl born among them was very sweet in temperament and grew right there itself, wouldn't she believe in all these superstitious enough to accept anything that would hint to her was alike to that? And push away an initial hurt if she thought it was destiny?
read this post too.. just maybe it may make sense to u :)

Finally NOPE Paro is not at ALL in love with Rudra! She loves him the same way she loves the rest of the people in her life! She did the same for Suneri that she did to him! She listened to all the hurtful things, and when Suneri apologized she hugged and forgave her with all her heart! The hurt given to her was simply put away. cz what she saw was that = Suneri saw something and believed it just like she herself would. Now believes different cz there is this new veil.
And as u said, she will see those facets of him opening one by one. and will get hurt in his hands.. eventually when he is in love and is at the verge of accepting - he will manage to break that one final layer of her innocence and he will break her.
And then he will try to put her back together, for he will be the one to grieve the lost innocence.. and feel guilty.
that dance of theirs at BB7 final symbolized it.

But till then Paro is gonna go with the flow of things and try to adapt her own life to that mythology, which for her is real!

Well its just that we r so so different in our backgrounds and thus many of us are shocked that someone like Paro can exist! And our minds r battling that maybe as a defence that she cannot exist! That its a wrong portrayal cz that is easier to believe than this pure soul!

yes indeed this impossible love story becomes possible only through these characterizations that are so different.. If he is the scorching coarse desert that is ruthless, she is the life giving water that will cool those desert sands and give it solace...

i will post what i posted somewhere else

this is just my POV , and my issues with the track

A village girl idolizing her pati to be shiv , this is not the right way to show it

here the cvs clearly they are drawing similarities and try to reason action taken example of shiv and parvati to show rudra and paro are meant to be together like shiv and parvati is , so parvati undergoing all this torture is fine

parvati is the strongest form of woman , she is considered to have the strength and power of all the women put together , and she is infamous or famous for her anger

shiv ji also has been victim of her extreme wrath

now about paro

I liked the dialogue that takurain says to varun , It is impossible to make the sharmile paro talk
They should have shown the transition from that paro to this confident strong woman to protect her family

my answer to who is she is

she is his protector , his shield from insecurity , loneliness , pain , not otherwise

and definitely not his punch bag to take his insecurity , pain and loneliness , that is daily soap heroine , doesnt fit here

Symbolic to jagatamba the universal protector

For that they need time and not hurry

Hi!
I agree! I indeed do! Its that something did lack in the narration in the past few weeks that see, even i caught this on after so freaking long! It took about 65 episodes for me to glean this much!
cz they did miss a middle vital part which confused the hell out of many people!
But i guess we will have to cut some slack to the needs of a daily soap. And i think they r trying to find a balance to that
mythological creature Paro is and the daily soap heroin - which she again is too!

The thing is - Paro does not become his punching bag unless she accepts that she is his punching bag!
See here the difference i see is, Rudra closes a door on her - she can very well go back to the BSD and get some1 else to take care of her - and SHE makes that sole decision to stay back that day, sleeping outside with her doll!

then yesterday he tried to drag her out, and he begged her to leave. And then when he said to do him a favour and to stay out she was the one to suggest the next activity!

Here the thing is she is no daily sopa heroin - those ones do what others tell them! Here someone may shout till sun down but unless Paro wants to do it she will not do it!
The fact that she is mostly deciding to doing things that may seem quite soapish is a different case - what matters is that she does it for herself! She doesn't really do it cz he asked her to! or demanded her to! She changes and edits what he says and takes her own spin to it n does it! Which actually frustrates him to no ends!

Thus i guess, its a unique situation and the CVs r trying to find their feet as there is nothing b4 this they can take guidance from...

Hope I made sense to u .. its just hard to put a finger on to describe this situation! :)

And she said it how can you know hate when you don't know about love? She understands him far too much. She knows these are just his tactics to get her out of the house but it is all meant nothing in the big scheme of things. Her goal is bigger not get into petty fights with Rudra. She is completely focused just on her main goal.
And Paro being Paro gave the answer to him why do you think I am shameless? Even Parvati God has done this she has tried to pacify Shiva before she got married to him! When God can do it I can too and that does not mean I am shameless. This is what was conveyed if you look at the deeper meanings of the scene. Maybe it was not pictured perfectly that many looked at it just at the face value.

And if Rudra and Paro in love 3 months since story has started what is left to show? It is the journey of how they fall in love. I want to see Paro turn around Rudra into a man and show him the path of love and am eager to see this! Rudra can scream and shout all he wants but Paro will win in the end and that is all that matters!

I want CVs to show their version of the story. Another time another show which can't be named was scrutinized day and night and everyone had some suggestion or the other in the end the show which could have been something ended messed up! I don't want CVs to ever come to this forum and look at our views its better they do what they think is right because they have more experience than us in these things and at the end of the day its their vision!

ya there has been issues with the narration that confuses people..

anyway i totally agree to that thing u said about if its good enough for the gods its definitely good enough for us! - i wrote the same thing here see

Anyway yes paro is not in love with him in the way a woman would be in love with her man. She loves him in the same way she loves every1 else! So we will find it quite fascinating to see how this journey will happen..

Wonderful Sunara. Loved how you described Paro.

I keep saying the same thing. We can't relate to Paro. We can't even think of relating to her because we are just different. We can't be as pure and innocent as her and she cant be like us. So her reactions to Rudra and to everything for that point are different from ours. Like you said we got hurt and angry at Rudra's words because we understood something but Paro understood entirely different. For her he was just misunderstanding her again about the dori. So she wants to prove her point about her love and make that MU go.

Perfectly said. That song is meant for Paro. Very straightforward just like her.

What you said about Paro post and pre Tejawat exposure was awesome. People feel this Paro is not the one two weeks ago and well, she is not. She is in her character now and was in conflict earlier.

She does not talk in riddles, she does not think in riddles.. her thought process, her life, her understanding.. all of these r so linear, so straightforward.. she does not understand implied things. She takes things literally..

The above feature says it all. It shows how pure and direct she is. This quality of hers alone differentiates us and Rudra from her. We might think she is foolish but she is actually that simple to understand. What you see is what she is. Now if we have a problem to believe such person exists then its our problem. right? I think Rudra has the same problem. As to him such pure innocent person can't exist, so he keeps telling himself she is a facade.

Even in kitchen scene, any other girl will try to hide her back. But Paro was more keen on hiding her face from him. And for Paro it is a huge deal than us to show her back to him. But his anger was her priority. He was more important to her.

If you clearly watched the scene, she peeks through her shoulder to see if he left and is taken aback to find him standing behind her. She didn't expect him to come to her or tie her dori. Now if Rudra was not able to keep his hands next to his pockets, how is she at fault? I was hurt when he called her those names. You can see she was hurt too. Her eyes said it all. But that pain took back seat as she knows she was not what he thought, not because she was a mahan TV land lead but because she know who she is. So rather than shouting back, she was ready to clear his MU about love. We need to understand here, if she was a girl like any of us Rudra would not even give a damn about her. He feels for her because she is not like us, because she is Paro and not us. She has to be that pure, innocent Paro for Rudra to realize love. Each scene gives us a glimpse into her character. CV's great job.

I would love to say, Sanaya, darling, you stole my heart again today. The hurt in Paro's eyes was mind blowing. That face of hers is haunting me. I just can't take it out of my head. I was hurting just be looking at her. 👏👏👏

This is a very beautiful love story. One I never saw on TV. Very fresh and innocent. I am deeply in love with RR. I am more in love with Paro than Rudra as he is more like me. Ok, I meant I can relate to him more (Paro would be so confused with my earlier statement 😆). But Paro is not me. She does things different than other women in TV land and that makes it more interesting to me. We should just start looking at Paro as Paro - A pure, innocent, naive soul.

Again loved everything you wrote of Paro, Sunara. Beautiful.
RR for me is the story of her growth as a women too. Can't wait to see how she reacts or changes when she comes in contact with lust, cruelty, possession, obsession...

I always end up writing so much when PaRud are involved. We can't do this with other soap characters because our Parud and simple yet complicated. That is what maks them very special.

beautifully written!! I completely agree with u!

@red - So so true! if she was us, this impossible, unbelievable love story would never happen! Its only cz she is who she is, only will this story happen!

Truly aahhh ST did a master-stroke when he picked Sanaya for this role! In fact i can now understand why he refused to make this show unless she was his Paro cz he said he wrote it keeping her in mind to play that Paro he wrote!

God those eyes!! brimming with tears haunt me too! I think the fact is we all feel so protective about her cz she is someone so open and we feel as if she will be crushed in her innocence that our own protective instincts rise to run to her defence! That is why that her not defending herself is invoking such extreme emotions in everyone!

thank u very much for this beautiful response! Enjoyed reading it! 🤗

Firstly I am glad it's you who put up this post..I know you were finding it hard initially in understanding Paro...but you did and in a much bigger, better and beautiful way.🤗

I absolutely love how you've explained the first verse of the RR title song that outlines the essence of Paro's character.

I have also said this on Oyster's post. Many of us need to stop looking for a Khushi in Paro!

The minute we do that we will find the character of Paro as being first of a kind...close to one of the mythological ones...set in a modern day setting.

I believe ST has chosen his Paro to be the way he has visualized. Its unique, rare and something that can only be seen and experienced on screen.

Sunara once again brilliant post...

thank u so much di! 🤗 Actually so true! I was just so so confused! This I still blame the writers for! They should have put things like that doll talk EARLIER!
See she can talk to a doll, a butterfly, to a tree or even a camel for all I care! After all with Paro she will make it seem believable! Just get her to talk out her feelings BAS! cz we happen to be a whole universe apart from her that we do need sign boards to get it, so to speak!!

It just needs one moment to go 'click!' and u get her! Till then no matter how many thousand posts u read u will only feel resentment for the crap the other party is sprouting!
rolling eyesno talking cz honestly as u said, be it Khushi or be it ourselves, if we think Paro is either this becomes annoying, self-degrading and it becomes a chore to watch the show!I don't want to see

I was honest to god was frustrated!
at wits' end I had no choice except to watch cz of Sanaya and on the other hand swallow what they were giving and what I WAS misunderstanding! not a nice place to be.. not at all! whew!

Anyway finally am glad that this is going the way it is going! Its delightful once u make peace with the Paro they have conceptualized and understand her story and NOT her as we see should be! Hope they manage to keep it like that!
The ratings r keeping me very happy! the UK ones! 😳

Wonderfully written, Sunara!

I understand your point. Her innocence, naivety and purity are beyond question. What I miss in her character now-a-days (since Thakur's revelation, to be precise) is consistency.

Before that incident with Thakur, i have always found reasons in her behaviour, even though a number of those were apparently unreasonable or foolish.. For example, her fighting with Mohini on Maithili's adoption issue..many of us found that out of character or too much in Paro's situation.. But i could relate her behaviour because she herself was an orphan.. And there are many instances like this.

But since Thakur's confession, the character lost consistency for me. Paro is innocent, pure and naivete -- and that is why i expected her to be more grief-stricken after the confession. It was not only Rudra's point she got to establish by that confession, Thakur revealed much more than that. Her parents's death, Bindi'd death, her sister Nandini's condition, etc...

Remember she was so innocent that she didn't even let Rudra finish his sentence when he was trying to speak about Nandini.. But now, when Thakur revealed the whole truth, what is her reaction?

I understand that the priority of the moment was that press conference which saved Rudra's job.. but then? Even after that there are issues like dilsher's accident etc etc.. But suddenly she is hell bent to get married to Rudra. Fine, she got the signal, she and Rudra are meant to be together.. But after all these, how can an innocent and pure girl like Paro can think of one thing only, that is getting married to Rudra?

I am still trying to find reasons in all these inconsistencies.. Hope in the coming days CVs will come back with answers..

Sunara, I am glad you put up this post and happy to see that you have accepted Paro as she is. That is what is difficult for most of the viewers, accepting a heroine who is so pure at heart that she doesn't know what is grey. Her purity is so hard to connect to, but I guess the writers intend her to be that way. Rudra being such a complicated character, they needed someone so pure to balance it. She is actually strong like Parvati if we want to take the parallelism to Shiv-Parvati but still innocent. I tried writing 2 posts to justify her character but since I got no response I stopped. I am glad you have come up with a good post. She is out of this world and would do anything to bring Rudra back to life. Rang rasiya until now for me means the colours Paro is going to fill in Rudra's dark life, because she is the stronger of both of them.
