But somethings this week made me change my mind.. as I heard her talking to her gudiya and explaining what she was doing, it just clicked to me what Paro was! What I was actually missing earlier!
The thing is I would like to point ur attention to something, that would prove to us that this Paro, this naive being so pure and innocent, the literal vestal virgin was what the CVs intended always.
When we for the first time saw a grown up Paro she ran across the sand dunes and this was the song they played for her..
Titli jaisi udti phire hai bholi si udaan, (Like a butterfly she flies in her naive journey)
Aankhon Mein Hai Tim Tim Taare, (In her eyes are twinkling stars)
Meethi Si Muskaan,,,,, (and a sweetsi smile)
ooo...
O Titli jaisi udti phire hai bholi si udaan
(Like a butterfly she flies in her naive journey)
Aankhon mein hain tim tim taare, (In her eyes are twinkling stars)
jaise basa khushiya (in which happiness has settled in)
Rangrasiya Mil Ja Ve Kab Se Teri Rah Take,
Rangrasiya Mil Ja Ve Kab Se Teri Rah Take,
Rangrasiyaaa...

.
Do u see these lines and what they speak to us? This story/show was conceptualized too far back, and developed with infinite care for the CVs to have NOT gotten this song correct.
They told us of an innocent girl AND what we need to see is that unlike in any other story where this might have been a random cute intro of the female lead. here this song was LITERAL!!
Because now think, isn't this EXACTLY how Paro is behaving?
Paro does NOT seem to be real! We have to understand that. her level of naive innocence and purity is something that is so angelic that we feel it CANNOT exist in this harsh dark world! BUT that is exactly what Paro is!
Try to open ur hearts beyond ur disbelief (AND I do understand its freaking unbelievable cz I too thought like that earlier!) and just take it as a fact that Paro exists!
And this almost inhuman, celestial being like purity, that is almost divine is what her entire being is about. Her very strength comes from this pure untouched innocence that nothing can violate!
She does not talk in riddles, she does not think in riddles.. her thought process, her life, her understanding.. all of these r so linear, so straightforward.. she does not understand implied things. She takes things literally..
Her eyes as this song said.. are alight from a light from within! She glows in her joy!
Until 2 weeks back - Paro was in conflict - her eyes showed her a certain truth. And her soul told her a different truth.
And thus, till that point we did not see that Paro who usually existed till then.
From the moment the show started till the baraat was ambushed and her life was turned upside down we saw one Paro. One whose heart, soul and mind was in harmony, a sweet Paro who was happy with her lot in her life and was grateful.
And after that the turmoil began and that butterfly had her wings clipped for a while as she was in conflict.. confused.. and she retreated.. in to herself and we saw a different Paro.
Even then we saw moments like in that mirror scene where despite all rationality her sweet innocence emerged.. Her whole being is about being happy! And in that darkest hours of her life too she managed to be happy!

but with the revelation of Tejawat, once again the truth her heart, soul and mind told her aligned to be one!
And now Paro is in her element!
Free, joyous, naughty in that innocent way, adorably mischievous in a very gentle manner, and bubbling with happiness in the new found relief as that previous burden on her soul lifted! her eyes are shining with the uncontrollable joy that she has finally found her place in this world; which being Rudra's side!
And as she innocently told her gudiya, now that this titili has decided which flower she wanted to land in, she has picked the thorny rose so to speak cz that is the one she has decided has been written to be hers in her destiny by her bolenath!
And for that nectar she knows she will find, and is ready to find her way inbetween all the thorns till she reaches the heart of the rose that will give her the sweetest thing in life..
The very barbs we feel - we feel hurt for her doesn't always seem to penetrate her in the same way!
Her innocent mind, which is yet to learn of lust, cruelty, possession, obsession and the not so nice facets of human mind is yet to be contaminated and it protects her from being hurt by the crude things he says! That is why what Rudra says does not seem to hurt her!
See in her thought process - Rudra told her she was shameless and she was characterless- the point is Rudra based these on her bare back being exposed to him in the kitchen and her cuddling up in his chest next!
But for Paro those 2 incidents meant something else!
Kitchen one was where she was in a big problem which he nicely solved for her! The problem being she had aata in her hands, and she wanted to tie the dori and all the while had to keep her face hidden from him too!
So she had to either wash her hand and tie the dori - and till she did that she could have hidden the open dori from his eyes by turning around - BUT then he will see her face! THAT WAS PARO'S ONLY ISSUE AT THAT TIME!! š
And then in the room too - he had asked her to NOT to show her face as then he will get angry! And what did she do? the 1st convenient place was that solid chest for her to hide her face in! AND that is exactly what she did!
Again her SOLE ISSUE WAS HOW TO HIDE HER FACE SO THAT SHE CAN KEEP HIM FROM GETTING ANGRY!!š
Paro does NOT understand or even think that a said word may hold a different meaning! that the sordid meaning he applied to those 2 moments meant something utterly platonic for Paro!
So now imagine - Rudra told her she was characterless. And she thought to herself, if she has indeed been so.. the thing was for her, she has not been so! And she decided that considering what he said was baseless it was just his way of running his mouth as he didn't know what love was, simply cz he hasn't been loved by any1 before this!
So as she loves him , she just goes on ahead in her mission to show him what love is and to get him to reciprocate it so that he will willingly allow her to remain with him so that she can find her own happiness as she whispered to her doll!
This story and Paro is too simple and straightforward! Just try to grasp that and it will become beautiful for you! š¤
And finally one thing - Paro is not gonna be disillusioned soon or if EVER! cz when it happens it will be a far away moment and the moment her veil of purity that is acting like an armour to her lifts and she is left vulnerable, Paro will be broken to pieces!
If Paro was to exist - be whole.. this innocence and almost belief defying naivety will have to remain with her.
