For a audience which is predominately women, I don't understand why the writers would completely neglect Paro's perspective and only focus on Rudra's grief and loss in life. Yes, I agree that Rudra has not had a easy ride in life but neither has Paro and when they choose to ignore her grief to show scenes in which I hRudra is breaking down not just once but several times I feel quite disconnected and somewhat annoyed at this fact. onestly feel that many women who are watching the show might feel disconnected from Paro's character as well which is why the trps are not reflecting great numbers. When I was watching Sanaya's previous show on Star Plus I felt like I could relate to the character somewhat which is why I enjoyed watching it but unfortunately I feel extremely disconnected when observe Paro's characterization. I just hope someone from the RR team will read your post because SJ, you have summed up and hit ever nook and cranny on what was disturbing me while watching the show for the past few months.
i might be stepping the boundary here as i dont really know what went behind this show , but because i am extremely free today and my real life job is primarily to do with some business sector understanding let me give a try
this is a medium to highly concentrated industry
there are three parties mainly , makers. production house , channel , creative team ,
there intentions and interests are different from a show
the makers :
i think every show is made for a target audience ,the main concentration for the makers is on attaining viewership in least time , -ad revenue
the channel :
more with popularity , mostly a specific target group , the channel would really like it , if the show may not be gathering good trps but is very poluplar with a different group (like the teens or men)-more subscription
creative team :
they want the show to be noticed among the other makers and not channel , so trp again is the motivator -more projects inter competition mostly trp driven(something that can go positive and negative , may be the trp snake is not that big after all , it is as big as they make it )
with RR
who is the target group , the similarities in some dialogues and teh kind of romantic scenes , i think they are trying to target the younger crowd , the crowd which came to existence after IPK
and colors is not the only channel , star too we have IPK 2 , IPK was not the most watched show(trp wise) i am sure we would have not a DABH cos there is no gap there , there is some other show with similar theme
with IPK's closure , there was a new may not be new but strong target group identified , that is also to do with overseas viewing
i feel the makers have a lot of faith in the project for teh same reason , initial episodes were more or all about rudra's dark side , paro's angle came much much later
but but it didnot do business like they expected , and the split , which again i feel is partially due to lack of trust in the project , or feeling more trust in the other project
now they tried modifying the story to be more inclusive , and gather trps first ,
if you show a public proposal from a village girl
or dilsher being burned
or a sudden hate marriage , the viewers might tune in to see what is happening , that is like buying a coke once if a new ad comes up , but whether you keep buying it depends on how much you like it , and the daily soap is not coke , it doesnt work on one time sales but on retention
trps will gain , because a lot of newer people might tune in but is it sustainable ?
so in their attempt to get people to watch it they are forgetting to execute theory story , we the regular viewers are losing connect
