and one more thing the director and the team always use marriage as a game..how many breaks does a gal have during marriage?!now the paro has become parvati's follower and shiva's devotee..the depiction was gud coz it was a rural backdrop..and a gal cud think that way..but how many allegations she cud take to prove her goodness...they portray her as a more gud and innocence..they failed to show her emotions and her past in those 15 years how many times she cud have remembered him..and what emotions she had when in thought of him..instead like a robot instructed and fed by panditji she took a sudden decision by not giving thought to her messedup life and many more though she knew that he cared her..ok ego apart..did she once considered do they hav emotional connection apart from god bringing them together connection?i hoped she wasnt that blind..or was she not brainy?!..

That completely linear thinking where she LITERALLY answers things that are asked of her, and has no depth beyond what she is saying and feeling--no inner monologue--she is beautifully simple. Not stupid--but because she has always been led, passively, now that she is leading her own choices, nothing will sway her, or move her. It is this simplicity, this straight forwardness, literally not understanding how the other person might be finding her behavior odd--that is Paro.

Loving it...!

Napster sa, a very good explanation. I am glad to have found a good post that explains Paro's behaviour.

But before the Mela sequence, she was not so much of a linear character, was she? She was a more belieavable, normal, everyday girl before that. She did not jump at the free ride offered by a bunch of unknown men while she was returning with Bindi from Kesari's shop. She did not reveal to Thakur sa, her father figure, that Rudra had visited the village in disguise, even when he specifically gave her a chance to. There were times she did things impulsively. There were many instances where she went out of her way to stand by the things she thought is right, even when others were asking/warning her not to.

And that Paro is somebody i understood. She was flawed, but a person with a pure heart nonetheless. But the new Paro is confusing me.

It is totally all right with me that she believes that hers and Rudra's story is similar to Shiv-Parvati story. It is all right that she speaks frankly, declares openly that she wants to stay with Rudra, It is ok that she is being persistent in trying to prove her innocence, but in the process she will get hurt. She herself said to the doll that Rudra broke her heart twice in one day. SO why isn't her hurt not seen? Her resolve to do penance is fine, but it should be shown that penance is a tough thing, that she is getting hurt while trying to stand strong.

She wasn't trying to seduce him, but that's what he thought she she was doing, which to me says more about him than her, he will be so easily seduced by her.😳

As for Paro not reacting, I kind of expected it. She knew Rudra thought she tried to kill his father, and yet went to propose marriage to him, and just a couple of days ago she was willing to leave him and go with the Thakur, to the extent she attacked Rudra, and now she is dreaming of spending the rest of her life with Rudra. My point is she's slightly mad.😆 But seriously once Paro wants something, she is all in and she doesn't back down, she is straightforward and says what she feels. She is very naive, and has a fairytale idea of her and Rudra's relationship, but she can't be faulted on that really because at the end of the day Rudra has been like her saviour.

Now that he is being horrible, she doesn't care as much, which is partly down to guilt as she never trusted him and threw various accusations at him, remember she accused him of being a cold blooded murderer, and partly because she just wants to win him over.

Quite clearly she doesn't expect Rudra to be horrible to her forever, otherwise she wouldn't want to marry him. And that is the reason I'm kind of ok with her not reacting to his accusation. She is seeking happiness, and she is willing to fight for her happiness, and that is a great thing. If he is like this to her again, then I'd hope she would react however.

Furthermore, I think part of her character is simply passive. When her whole town disowned her and left her for dead, even then she so easily forgave them, in fact she thought they didn't need forgiveness. So her not always fighting back isn't surprising.

I am finding it increasingly difficult to accept Paro's passive-aggressive avatar! And Rudra calling her "besharam" rings hollow; esp. for someone that "has been" with women like Laila!
The CVs are going a little overboard with the hate-marriage and ill-treatment of women. GH has come back with a vengeance!

You are a smart woman who has a reaction to the abusive words being thrown at that village girl, and you would be right. You feel for her, extrapolate his cruel words as a slap to her pride, as something to protest. All right. Even Rudra, in his asking her---what is WRONG with you...he is right.

But from Paro's perspective, everything that is happening to her parallels the God narrative she has heard growing up--believing it, honestly worshiping it, leaving all decisions to it. She thinks she is going through the trials of Parvati, and sees literally nothing wrong with the comparison. When he says those horrible things--to her mind, he is just causing her additional "tapassya" that she must live through. It becomes penance. You don't take penance personally--especially when you know you are not guilty. You do the "praschith," What other think of her, judging her-- its irrelevant to Paro.

She is not guilty of being besharam--she is not even guilty, I think, of being controlling or rude. She is following the path she believes in, and has no one she listens to (Mamisa, Thakurain, Dilsher, even) right now to tell her "no." She is doing manmaani--but thinks its blessed by her Bholenath--the signs say so. It must be so. I love her character--and I understand why the CVs spent the first one month giving us NO voice for Parvati--she needed to be alone to even find it. NOW, Paro is someone who pleases me purely because she is so--NOT us-- Not you, not me.

Thank you Basantiji for the post I was really frustrated and needed to vent but given the proclivities of this forum decided against since I don't seem to have that much time to respond to the replies to my post which is unfair to those who took the trouble to reply

I will repost what I wrote elsewhere the smart male head of the PH of RR accomplished what another PH could not get away with in her show make Abuse kosher ST and GH has made the FL fall in love madly deeply insanely so all the mistreatment meted out by her object of affection becomes acceptable in the name of worship We all be grinning wow paro you be the new age woman and so what if you are dumped outside onto a staircase ( those poolside days seem so nice in retrospect) by the one you revere to the mercy of whatever the night brings you be so maadern for wanting your man publicly and having the guts to go after him and now wow physical endurance test as well I wish they will not taint mindless drivel in the name of religion For those who know the true Divine Love story will recognize this is not a patch on theirs but a very twisted version😡

Napster I really really wish I possessed even 1/10th of your vision and insight into Paro so I can get her This whole pure as driven snow bit is something I am unable to connect Maybe I need to see more desi shows and movies I am not a sentimental sort so probably that is one reason but I still enjoy reading your analysis You can really sell a refrigerator to an Eskimo with your reasoning powers and arguments😆
