I agree with both of u. But u both got my point wrong. I know about arranged marriages but from what I see, Paro's marriage is not at all an arranged marriage. It is love marriage since the girl herself is proposing the boy and for that I feel she has to be in love with him and realise it too. Even for a girl like Paro I think that is quite important. That's why I think there's more to it than just a simple love-marriage track.

The simplicity of Paro is beautifully captured in you simple but extremely impactfull analysis. Well written!

the reason she wants to marry rudra is because she isn't self-reliant and lacks self-respect.
Anybody treated the way she was should have walked out.
Great posts by both of you.Having been the only one in my family to have a love marriage I can truly say that in the end my sisters marriages are just as successful. If indeed I had not fallen in love Iwould have been quite happy to accept a man on a basis of compatability and then hopefully fallen head over heals in love with him.It is a matter of upbringing,my mother always taught me that the man you marry will become your soul mate.In Paros case she has had such little exposure to men in general and with her traditional upbringing Rudra is her saviour in all ways.In her mind he is her datta though she has not yet realised that she is steadily falling fot him too.She is automaticly drawn to him because she wants him to be her rakshak as he has always been.Of course hr is super hot but I suppose Parobai sa will think of that only after marriage!I

I was a bit upset about the whole shadi scenario but now after reading your perception, it doesn't feel that bad. Thanks for sharing your views!

Good take on the reasons why...
Paro is being bold knowing deep down Rudra will be there for her no matter what.
