...and no, I am not talking of Paro Baisa's exquisite wedding dress.đ
They came as close to a perfect episode today as they have ever been. Not too hot, not too cold...but just right. In other words, the Goldilocks balance. Loved how they are building up to the big bang that is to come, moving all the pieces and pawns in place, and laying the intricate game-board.
It started off with Laila-Rudr face-off continued from last week. She is a woman scorned, and left us and Rudr Banna in no doubt of her fury. In the process, she forced him to face some hard facts...that he considers Paro and himself to be "us", that she has taken over him, his life, his thoughts, his concerns, his actions, his considerations...to the extent that she has begun to rival his absent mother's power to perturb him. And our dear Banna sa goes ahead and proves Laila right by calling her Paro!đ
But his troubles of course are not limited to a vengeful ex...his job, that is not really a job rather a reason for his existence, a calling that allows him to breathe, to walk with his head held high, to think well about himself...that job is in jeopardy. He looks at the uniform that personifies that calling, and is reminded of the court martial that is staring him in the face should Paro Baisa refuse to sign the confession.
While in another part of the house, the very same Paro Baisa, resplendent in golden wedding finery, sits in front of the vanity and mulls her fate. Tearfully recalls her first marriage, her mother-like Thakurain Sa's words, the shooting death of her husband, her very public betrayal at the hands of her beloved Mamisa...and asks herself, "what am I about to do?", asks Bholenaath,"what have you thought for me?". Rukmani's arrival strengthens her resolve...and she decides to not give in, and do what it takes to free herself. When Rudr Sa comes for one last ditch effort to make her agree, she repeats her resolve. Atta girl!! Even though she does not know what is going to happen, even though she has suffered so much, has traumatic memories, yet her faith in her Bholenaath is unwavering! It gives her strength to push Rudr back, (a la the cult scene of the show that shall not be namedđ) and rebuff both his reasonableness and his threats.
Other noteworthy scene was one between Rudr and Danveer! Loved the emotions!! MoChi Sa continues with her despicable plan to roast Dilsher alive, but appears that she will be thwarted by her own daughter! *rubs hands and smiles gleefully*
All the actors in this show are either spectacular or just perhaps a couple of notches below, and when the writing and direction are at similar levels, we the audience just get lucky! Today was one such day!! đ There was emotion, drama, pathos, and to top it all, the gorgeousness that is Sanaya! What more could I ask for?
Did I say I loved the episode?đđ What say you?
