Three scenes totally stood out today... The 2 minute scene between Danveer and Rudra, between Laila and Rudra and then Paro and Rudra's respective ruminations... the best I thought was that small scene between Chacha and Bathija... probably would now stand for one of the best scenes in the serial .
Danveer and Rudra's scene was indeed the best of all. How usually gruff Rudra accepts comfort from Danveer. How vulnerable...how very human... kudos to the actors and CVs for a wonderful 2 min piece of art. This was much needed as Rudra is like a desert waiting eternally for that one drop of rain...that one oasis in a desert full of mirages. The only person who actually gets any respect from Rudra is Daanveer, albeit grudgingly ..the chacha who used to give those long forgotten rare treats in another life ...by taking him on scooter rides as a child or the one who would run around him with a glass of milk ... the only adult who cared...was not a wreck like Dilsher or a psycho like Mohini after his mother's desertion... very much needed to show that he is a human after all.
Second scene was of Laila and Rudra which was for an express purpose of highlighting change of Rudras feelings. Not only for the benefit of the audience but also for Rudra himself... to provide some insight into his own feelings... Rudra needed that from Laila as again like Danveer, Laila is the only one person who could have challenged Rudra on this ground. He did'nt want to believe her.. but was unable to deny her accusations... blast it!.. he could not believe his own ears.. did he call her Paro!.. where did that come from!!... now thats a start if I can call one.. for now it has to do... There is also a very important detail which has been dropped by CVs from Rudra's mouth... Rudra calls Laila a friend. ..Friend with benefits?đ Smart guys isn't he...? Again they needed this scene before Paro went missing. and to identify that Laila actually did mean something for Rudra. Now this makes some sense for that 8 year relationship. There is again that ground for Laila to stand on probably to resurrect herself later? I like the way CVs are closing loops. Now that makes Laila another wildcard in CVs hands. I have a feeling inspite of whatever she spouts at Rudra, she would be played to his benefit in the end.
The last scene is where both Rudra and Paro ruminating on the way life has brought them to a crossing.. a crossing once passed, there is no turning back. I loved the way the CVs joined the 2 scene...another master piece. Paro asks herself where her life has got her and Rudra answers in his thoughts that he does not know where...He wonders what she will do and she answers that she will destroy herself... beautiful transition...little details but never before was seen on small screen.
The all confident Rudra was suddenly uncertain as what will Paro do. He can't back out now .. Will she sign the papers? But she said she will not sign nor will she marry him. Then what will she do? A very self-assured military man rendered clueless. But the point to note is he accepted the possibilty that Paro might not break and made his mind up to marry her if need be. This time around he was not threatening Paro, he was not answering Dilsher and Danveer's moral quizzing nor was he plotting with Aman. He was answering himself. He was accepting his fate.
Paro.. Paro.. Paro.. what shall I make of you..I don't think even CVs know what they are writing... Wildcard... that's what comes to my mind when I think of you. You vehemently deny that you will ever marry Rudra ... that you would rather give up your life willingly than marry him and in the very next sentence you bid farewell to Rukmini saying not to come back as Paro that she knows will be no more ..that she does not want Rukmini to bring back her old memories... does that mean she is agreeing to marry Rudra?? That scene was not very well thought was it? Or is it me looking at it wrongly? please enlighten me if you can..
