Reminds us of an animal, terrified. hunted, fighting for its breath, running blindly to escape from the clutches of the predator. Eyes mirroring a terror that no soul other than the one, can ever fathom or understand. And today saw two beings, absolutely cornered!!
Rudra and Paro as different as chalk and cheese, yet both sailing in the same unfortunate boat. For both are in the middle of a storm, both desperate, trying their best to swim against the tide. Neither wanting to do what the other is forcing them to, neither wanting yet are painted in a corner.
Paro's plight is not unknown to any one of us. Rather it has evoked so many pathos in all of us. She would rather die happily than ever be bonded with the murderer, the cruel beast. And her thoughts, reflected her chaos, on one had she plans to kill herself, suicidal in her last ditch efforts and on the other hand asks Rukmini to never visit her again, as the new Paro is someone no one would recognize. She plans to kill herself, yet cannot help but think of the horrifying life that awaits her. She has no clue or inkling of where she stands, and how she got there, her life has totally spiraled out of control, and she caught in a whirlpool that promises to drag and drown her further and further. All she knows in her misguided psyche, the man in front of her is a symbol of all that has gone wrong in her life, responsible for all the rights going wrong. Our heart goes out to the girl, who has already lost all, and is now going to lose more.
And on the other hand, is the heartless soldier, who is finally losing his hold, his tight grip on the situation. Till now, Rudra was confident that Paro will break. Very sure that her hate for him will surpass her love for her own. Rudra, in some corner of his heart and mind, was assured that the marriage will not take place, things will never get this far. His tactics and her temperament had convinced him of a victory. Today, the gamble failed. Already in a turmoil due to Laila's prophetic and all seeing words, he is further pushed off balance by the sight of his uniform. The reality rubs him raw that this is probably the last day he wears that uniform cause his delicate opponent shows no sign of giving in or giving up. His tears, his angst, his anguish, his sudden realization of his impending loss, leaves him inconsolable. (A request to the cvs...the Rudra breakdown scene... again..did not go well, at least with me. For once, they are getting too frequent and have started irking somewhere..just my pov. Also it was totally not Rudra!! And Ashish for the first time felt OTT..sorry that's just my opinion) As much as he might deny, the man for the first time experiences fear, terror at the thought of what the future awaits, and his desperation mounts.
The time both of them meet, there was no romance, no love, no attraction felt and neither was it meant to feel that way. All we felt was hopelessness, a deep sense of wrong, a desolate fate that pushes two desperate and unwilling people in bonding. Both hating the other, both pleading with the other to let go, straining at their leashes, furious yet appealing at the same time. Both knowing that the other holds the key to their fate and hoping that he/she decides to turn the key and turn the tide as well. But they were destined to lose, as they both are pretty much mirror images of loyalty, pride, headstrongness and principles. As different as possible yet as similar as probable. The outcome was obvious even before the negotiations.
Just felt a strange humane pity for two individuals so badly cornered by each other and fate. A stirring sadness enveloped them both, in a shroud of desperation. If only they could see, that all they needed to be free, was right there in front of their eyes.

I honestly don't know what to write today...my heart goes out for Paro...just sad, very sad to see an individual cornered to a point wanting to end their life because all she sees is darkness. That is a very dark place to be in...there is only been sadness and negativity in RR...it's getting to me.

Also, I truly felt laila/Rudra equation was summed up very well today...by one very striking dialogue...she knows about his mother and his pain...he did talk to her as a friend...as a confidante...it was not just sexual as it was depicted. They were in a relationship. This defames Rudra very badly IMO.

Also, I have a very bad feeling that they are going ahead with mythology( shiv/sati/Parvati...I did some googling on all this 😆 )...and been an atheist I completely don't believe in all this...a very cliched thing.

Very well said. The episode was suffused with a bleakness and desperation, a desolation of someone poised at the brink of irrevocable, complete ruin. They are both a hair's breath away from their personal purgatory. Really felt their world spinning out of control...forever

Great analysis.
Loved how the CVs showed both of them trapped and cornered with nowhere to go.
Loved the Laila-Rudra and PaRud scenes today.

Laila was at her best today, she spoke some hard hitting truths today.

Agree with you that Rudra's breakdown was too OTT and out of character.
This explicit and frequent sobbing really takes away the impact of the mental turbulence he is facing.

Glad that the CVs showed some FBs of Paro with Mamisa and thakurain. That was very nicely done.

The CVs are doing a Great Job keeping the marriage suspense.

the crying is part of his character sketch. he did, even when he was a little boy.

Agree with Rudra's multiple breakdowns. I skipped today's one altogether. Agree that a man should be entitled to his share of tears, but a well trained warrior does not cry at the drop of a hat.
best part of the episode for me was Rudra-Laila confrontation. A woman in love will recognize love in another at a glance. She unwillingly makes Rudra reflect on his own actions, and read in to them. Whether he understood his attachment to Paro, I'm not so sure. He might learn it better, if Paro gets separated from him after the wedding.

Super retelling, Eve. Yes, both are indeed cornered - by fate - and each other. And the sad thing is that this hopelessness is only going to get worse, before, (I hope) it gets anywhere near sanity. They've drawn the battle to a fine line..literally balancing on a mere thread..and can go down just like that.
Am keeping my faith in the CVs..that they dont give us a collective heart attack..so stretched our the nerves ! And the Kaki Sa, Sumer antics are now no longer a thing to wonder about..they are a mere irritant. Dont wish her to triumph...😡

Can I wish that Paro escapes the evil guys and Thakursa's men kidnap Kaki Sa by mistake instead? 😆

The rest of the week has drama and more drama!! I liked Laila's dialogs today.. and yes, the one thing I felt was OTT was Rudra's breakdown. I think a restrained, determined, but clearly petrified Rudra would have looked better...
