Keeping aside my thinking cap, I can only partake of one episode per day for its eye candy value and fiery dialogs. Beyond that, I am unable to justify my reasons for watching any Desi soap.

Suffice it to say that once upon a time, I felt the same emotions you express here and have more than many times shared it in other forum. But I realized a little too late that I am banging my head against a wall and that there are those who like, nay, relish even, the stories that bring a scarred man to a pristine woman and have her work her magic. The great redemptive power of love.

Which woman does not want to believe that she has the power within her to change a man very fundamentally. As much as this sounds romantic its also antediluvian. Given the nature of marriages and expectations from participants in a marriage, who in their sane minds has the time to repair damaged goods, when you barely have enough time to repair your own shoes and faltering career?

Yet scores of young women want their guys to be augmentative not reductive. Progressives want the participants in a marriage to bring out the best in each other. With all these pressures stressing the shaky foundation of an even shakier institution - who has time for redeeming damaged goods?

So, I took a deep breath for my second appearance in IF and decided to let the maker-buggers fend for themselves, while I engage in some good laughter therapy. A few compadres agree while many find my alternate comedic reality of RangRasiya a mockery. To each his own, I guess.

If Ashish can read ur PPP and find funny and not in any way making a mock I guess no one has the rite to say it's mocking lol

I found it interesting that tho he thinks he is a pattar there seemed to be a real concern for Dilsher..one of those who "damaged" him
he softened towards Sunehri almost immediately...
and his feelings for the mother that abandoned him dont seem to be of compete hate...

so may be Rudra does have shades...

but the thing is i dunno if i have much to say..
my expectations are close to nil...its entertainment very superficial one at that ..but it gives me a point of contact with other women here i guess.

I find it hard pressed to take themes and discuss it stemming from the show...

the "grey" hero seems to be a fad...but even with that they are formulaic like there is only one way to be grey ...and they are not willing to explore ...
I wish with all the channels and multiple shows that they would be willing to experiment a bit more explore a bit more...but then again i get to sit at my computer at a convenient hour and just spout stuff i don't invest anything...

Its time to see a Desdomena I guess a girl who falls in love with love and the idea of romance, and the thrill of a world that does not resemble hers ...not a do gooder but an innocent...not a crusader but a selfish one...

would they be able to sell Laila as is as a heroine????

a heroine who desires sex... and her realizations and transformation and with that they can keep their damaged hero too..so he and her can both put balm of each other...

This is one helluva a story I so wish someone really cud make a show on...I mean literally...2 damaged goods...in the real sense...living life at its bitterness...both not capable of love coz they have seen relations and emotions bargained like material goods at a store...they sound more realistic...(honestly I find Laila more realistic than Paro)...and I'd be willing to watch something of that magnitude...coz I know the pushing and pulling will be of equal nature and no one of them is being repaired at the cost of other...they are at par!
Can we Tweet to NT now prity pls?😆

Seriously, I just did a spit-take of my coffee all over the laptop screen! The entire formula that Ekta mata and her ilk came up with at the top secret "ALL FUTURE INDIAN SOAP STORYLINE AGREEMENT" conference of 1988 (held in one of the three mansions all rich soap families live in) was:

First year will always be meet cute/meet angry, Ouuii-Maa style body-part contact leading towards Eye Sax Consumashion.

Second year is second Shaadi/misunderwear/Heroine rescue from Villian, also leading to Suhaag Raat Consumashion

Third Year is absolutely no heat, no body contact, no eye-sax or acknowledgement of love between hero-heroine after second year's Suhaag Raat scene. Same Bed Sleep, No Consumashion.

Third year pre jump--hero-heroine agree to live like onscreen siblings while encouraging their maid/driver/mother/pet goat/foreign-return cousin to have New Entry ke Sath Consumashion.

If the show is lucky and there is the fourth year, we get a child added, who is of course conceived in a test tube and dropped by the stork under the neighborhood neem tree. No Child Birth Consumashion

Fifth year--Child after jump, identical to mommy, ready for new hero/New Decade, old style Ouuii Maa Consumashion.

As an aside-I want to RIGHT NOW be the producer on THAT show. Where the consumashion happens as your first shot, Laila gets to flirt with Sumer AND Dilsher, her kaatniwali skills are limited to love bites and haldi leps are used all over the Hero's body, as per the size of the bowl!

@sajni nooo 😆 maybe after rangrasiya lol

Rudra is so certain that paro wouldn't marry him, and she will finally sign the papers and let him be. But not gonna happen mate! Our paro baisa loves her village. I think rudra will be one shocked jallad when paro refuses to sign. I think rite now rudra's job and the persistence to live alone means everything to him!

Hi,
Complete agree with your thoughts... And it is a very strong and meaningful analysis that needs to be taken seriously.

Regarding the precap, however, when I saw it, I only felt rudra was using this marriage thing to pressurize paro into telling him about the gun trafficking that he believes she is involved in. The reason is he uses the precise time (4 days) given to him by the authorities to prove his actions... I did not for once think he meant it...I believe he knows paro has strong emotions and believes about marriage and That will break her so called silence since she would definitely not want to marry him... Her or his one card to the truth.

This was just my observation from the precap and I truly hope this is true. If your predictions come true then...it will be a disappointment for sure...

Ditto! This marriage card is what he feels will be the only way out for both of them. 4 days till he gets fired and 4 days for the marriage, obviously his certain she will say no. But why rudra does not know is how self righteous telly wood heroines are lol

Awesome...you wrote what has been consuming me with guilt now and again for the past few years. Before RR I got hooked to the show that brought us all together...and I suffered pangs of guilt then too. Yes, I am guilty as charged. The woman in me rebeled big time when I saw that one and when I see this one too. Regressive..is an understatement. And not to mention my conscience that keeps on reminding me of those young impressionable girls who are growing up with the notion that manhandling is romantic...that's its fine if the man in your life is cruel, inhuman, harsh...its okay...its actually love in disguise. The message is the more unbearable and wrong the man...the more he needs you. You can be his savior, his heroine...heck its your duty to make him whole again. What BS are we watching and propagating in the name of romance and love!! I hate to even think about a whole generation of young women who are growing up with such notions...aren't we creating monsters in men and asking the girls to suffer them gladly...hell enjoy and relish the rough meted out to them. Such shows are giving rise to questions like domestic abuse and mental, emotional and physical cruelty...yet we all lap it up with fervor. Some have an excuse that they are coming from a different background... but women like us..well educated, career oriented, settled in different parts of the world...don't have any justification. The forced marriages without the girls consent, her hellish life before and after, her struggles...what utter sheer crap!! I guess there will come a time when the girls out there will think that being forced into a marriage with a chap you hate is a dream come true...
No argument, no excuse that I can offer can make this wrong right. The only reason...in a life riddled with responsibilities, tensions, a zillion issues...I need a break. This is my way of escape from real hell. The reason I take this nonsense is cause it is the least of the evils. It is the best of the lot (so what does that say about the lot)...my sole connection to something remotely romantic and indian. The only show I could connect in parts to and turn a blind eye to major glaring issues. I am selling myself to the devil. The flawed characters hold a fascination cause the perfection of fiction is so boring.
I agree with every single world napster...and thanks for making this post.
