Really, yet to see the episode. Well, in case the makers are responding to feedback, it's great.

I sense a bit of sarcasm there😃...surely the two are not mutually exclusive? One can be against violence around the world and object to its graphic depiction on TV, in a family show.

Such a quick turnaround is good start Visi. Not sure what caused it but whatever it is like you said less show more tell goes a long way .. particularly when it is prime time airing in India

I'm surprised ... the violence shown in the war movies and shows in the US is far worse! I usually close my eyes when the show the waterboarding and other stuff that the American forces get up to ... that is really objectionable according to me ... and worse, it actually happens!!! 🤢

The one here was comical after a point ... as it is in all Hindi movies ... who can take guys flying 50 feet in the air very seriously? !!!

You have a point there Diya, in that there are plenty graphic Amreekan TV shows, but they all come with viewer ratings, and air late night or on premium cable networks like HBO or Showtime. Fox does have some pretty violent parts to some of its shows, but most start with a viewer warning and usually rated TV-R or TV_Mature.

There seems to different governing bodies and CoC in India for what is "acceptable " during primetime TV watch. What is normal in movies does not hold good on TV. Is that not the main reason why eye locks and trip fall catch rule soapdom? Violence I would expect would fall in the same grouping.. no? If scenes like today continue then I am sure they are going to face objection at some point.

You have a point, Vistaa ... maybe I am a bit more immune, as my husband loves war movies, and I have perforce sat through far worse! 😆 Besides, I usually find the Rajnikanth type of violence pretty funny ... when the guy was hurtling in the air with a jet of blood spurting out, my initial reaction was to laugh!! I guess different people have different sensibilities!

I recently watched Captain Phillips ... an excellent movie based on a true life incident ... there the violence is truly chilling.
This show was touted as a guns and roses type of show ... perhaps it should be labelled accordingly in the US? Colors should look into that.

It was toned down in the UK too but I think its more to do with the countries broadcasting rules.A lot depends on the timing of the show and at 9.30pm RR comes after the 9pm watershed here so the full scene could technically have been shown. Personally I've seen worse in BW or for that matter any 'hood movies which are advertised as 'family movies'. True, films have a rating but surely at 9.30 pm children who are too young for this content should be in bed anyway. I've seen more violence in these video games kids play, sure they're animated but the implication is still there.
When a show is based on the indo-pak border and involves terrorism and arms smuggling then yes the depiction of violence is a norm for the show because it's the norm in that environment and the reality of the people living in those areas. I agree with Dia the violence was too out there to be taken seriously and was more for effect to establish Rudra's heartless rogue officer persona. I understand in reality an officer doing this would have received more than a rap on the wrist but there have to be some dramatic allowances. Personally I think if any human being could actually do this in reality, including kicking a man up in the air and then pushing a jeep to push a man into a wall while having bullets shot his way would be a contender for the Iron Man contest.😆
The bus shootings also raised a lot of questions about the BSD shooting innocent civilians and for that I think we need to wait for answers. I wouldn't put it past our Thakur ji to have a role in that one. The tag line for the show is rann ki ret par rakhth se rachhi ek prem dastan so rakht on the ret is a given.

I am American and I have watched plenty of "violent" stuff during "family time"...Rambo, First Blood. Besides Rudra's fight was too "filmy" to be believable anyway. It was funny...kick a guy in the air...that high...no way.

Don't mean to be sarcastic. I had two friends watching with me...the online version since I don't subscribe to Colors...they both were smirking...it was entertainment quality...not realistic. It fit his rage and he is on border patrol.
Western War movies have much more violence and prisoner gore.
😊

Hi Jaya...thinking alike...😆
