a very emotional update but penned amazingly
there are some situations when we become oblivious to the rest of the world and dont know how to react and in the process we get distant with the loved ones
khanak knew she needed some one to pour out her feelings and shaan was there
but shaan being the more composed didn't say anything and un knowingly hurt khanak
but circumstances played a part two ... her enthusiasm was back due to some professional task and he took it wrongly seeing her smile
in my opinion she was wrong to leave the house her loved ones... shaan and most imp ayush
but i shd not be saying this but after cominh to know that khanak has left it is goin to be the biggest failure for shaan... he'll be shattered
em even more worried coz he himself dont know y she has left and then he has to handle ayush and explain to his loved ones and deal with the most difficult situation
she has to focus on career but without the support of the ppl who means the world to her

Part 69

Men!!! Men believe they are stronger than women, but nah..!!!

Men do cry but they try their best to not to show in front of women…they can't allow themselves crashing in front of a girl or the lady of love…

He's sitting on the bed, in his apartment, all alone…he had lied, that Samar had come over…he didn't have any other go, he wanted time for alone…

Until he met Khanak, he was more a loner, if he was not attending hospital or his clinic, he used to sit in his room with his PC, would do some research stuff..

Past few months had changed his life, him meeting her, getting attracted to her, as though he was still a teenager, looking for a mate..? And falling head over heal to a girl, not a simple one though…Everyday he would see her in the hospital corridors or in the general ward with kids, admire her, for her boldness, yet acting like a kid though…He smiles remembering the days when he had pursued her…

Once again his mind plays the world of words….Why he was ignoring her?? Is he blaming her indirectly, for his failure?? NO!!! he would never do that…She's a ….finds the word….

She's the queen of my heart!! I would never blame her…thing is I would have never controlled myself in front of her, I would have broken completely in front of her…He very well knows now that, she's more delicate…

Her face, her cute face, it would glow whenever she used to smile, her eyes would glitter whenever she tries to be naughty..mostly with him…In front of the whole family, she would behave normally, as though she knew the family from ages…She would behave more like daughter than DIL…She and Khushboo bhabhi would go endless teasing Aayush…As Aayush is growing, he like other boys, doesn't like hugging often,nor the pecks on cheek….Khanak would go to extent, she would hug him tightly and continuously kissing him on cheeks, Aayush would get irritated to the most…All would have hearty laugh including him…Then for the rectification, she would prepare something special for Aayush, Aayush loves the attention he gets from Khanak…He can't imagine anyone in Khanak's place…Once it happened…

One Sunday, all are seated in the living hall, lounging….

Aayush is trying to sketch his mom, Khanak is irritated sitting in the same place..actually it was just only 5 minutes ago, Sunil and Akshay talk about business inhushed tones, as the little Khandelwal had requested for silence…Shaan seated next to Khanak, a bit far, doing his paper work, Madhvi and dadi talking away…Khushboo enters after a call…She goes for another tasing session, seats next to Akshay…

Khushboo: Khanak!! You are so lucky…agar pati tumhare liye attention nahi de raha ho toh kya hua, Aayush hai na….

Aayush smiles but still focuses on the sketch…Shaan and Akshay seems troubled…Elders exchange smiles…Khanak smiles gloriously at Aayush…

Shaan: bhabhi aap kaise kyun bolrahe ho, hum attention de rahe hain na…(siddles more closer to Khanak, Akshay tries to wrap his arms aaround boo's shoulders, but gets a smack from boo)

Khanak gives a weird look to Shaan, Shaan brings his hand and tries to keep it above her shoulder…

Aayush: (focusing on his sketch) papa….nahi…(Shaan's hand hung in air, Khanak giggles, Shaan moves away a bit to his initial position)

Khushboo: Khanak, main soch rahi hun, I'll adopt Aayush, tab Aayush mujhe protect karege Akshay se…(Akshay turns sacredly towards Khushboo, Khushboo is grinning)

Khanak very well knows that Khushboo is teasing Akshay, she gets along…Aayush seems uncomfortable…

Khanak: kyun nahi bhabhi…(tries to tease Aayush) Aap Aayush ko aapke saath rakheiga, waise bhi aaj kal Aayush meri baat sunta nahi hain…(mock sad)

Aayush takes it seriously…Suddenly teary eyed…

Aayush: mom aap joke kar rahi hai na??(looks at her, Shaan now looks at Aayush, all the others too)

Khanak: nahi toh..(still playing along) Shaan sensed trouble, but he waits…

In the next moment, Aayush gets up from the table (where he was sitting) stands in front of Khanak, holds his ears…Khanak now realizes that this isn't tease anymore…

Aayush: im sorry mom!! Main aage se aapki saare baat manoonga…I promise to not to hurt you anyways…(chokes)

Khanak feels terrible to put him in this, she hugs him in the next second..

Khanak: im sorry!! I was just teasing, im sorry Aayush…(moves out of the hug, looks at him)

Khushboo: im so sorry Aayush, main toh sirf Akshay ko tease karne ke liye bol rahi thi…im really sorry…

Shaan: (tries to ease the tension) Khanak tumna mere bte ko bigad diya hain (pulls Aayush towards him) Khanak looks shocked at Shaan…

Shaan: aur nahi toh kya…Aayush, boy's rote nahi hai…

Khanak: (just ignores Shaan's jibe) Aayush come on now smile…(makes the action with her forefinger and thumb)

Aayush: (gets back to himself, continues the teasing part) haan toh main kab serious tha…(shows the tongue to Khanak)

Khanak opens her mouth in wide shock…All others start laughing loudly…as the bait had fallen towards Khanak…

Khanak: Aayush…(Aayush runs from there, before he gets his beatings from his mom, he runs for his life…)

Khanak had pouted at Aayush, he had come back to give a peck on his mom cheek, and once again had ran…..She too had burst into laughter, with others…

Tring….Tring….Tring…..Alarm clock went on…

Aayush is disturbed by the sudden disturbace, he never kept alarm, nor allowed Khanak to keep one, eyes still not opened, it hits him, that may be his mom, is having fun…She would do some childish things like this, to wake him up…sometimes though…

Aayush: Mom…please..(yells into the air, without opening his eyes)

Since he didn't hear any giggle or any laughter from his mom, he shot up in bed…clock showed 8!!

He wanted to see his mom first, as he had not spoken to her whole day, he walks out of the bed and his room, goes inside his parent's room, he sees none…her phone placed on the bed, and some files on the bed, he rubs his eyes…he calls her, hoping that she is in the bathroom…MOM!!

Nope!! No reply…Aayush wonders, gets that may be she's in kitchen…walks down…

Finds Madhvi, Khushboo, dadi, but no sign of his mom….

Aayush: Mom kahan hain??

Ladies look quizzically at him, as even the have no idea…

Madhvi: Khanak tumhare saath nahi hain beta??

Aayush shakes his head…

Khushboo: may be she's in the room…Shaan agaya kya?? (smiles knowingly)

Dadi: nahi toh Shaan nahi aaya..

Aayush: mom kamre main nahi hain…(getting tensed)

Madhvi: aise kaise nahi beta…(thinks, trying to sound cool) shayad voh hospital chali gayi hain..kal late aayithi na…

Aayush: Mom ka phone toh kamre mainhi hain…

Khushboo: (gets tensed too, but calms) shayad urgent mein bhoolgayi hogi…(All of them wonders)

Madhvi calls Shaan, but he doesn't receive…

Madhvi: voh Shaan ke saath gayi kya??

Khushboo: nahi mom, actually she didn't even know that Shaan was not going to be home, she was looking extremely tired yesterday…(remembers her last night talk with her)

Aayush just stands..

Dadi: Aayush, phikar mat karo, mom aa jayegi, yahi bahar gayi hogi, jaake fresh ho jao, aaj tumhara special pasta banega…(smiles)

Dadi signals Khushboo, to take him…Khushboo nods…

Khushboo: Chalo Aayush…(holds his hand, and escorts him to this room)

Khushboo searches for his clothes in his cupboard, fetches out…hands him he takes unmindfully, as he wonders where his mother is??

Khushboo eyes a letter on the table, she takes it…

Khushboo: Aayush yeh letter kiska hain?? (opens it)

Aayush gets up and peers itno it…

Aayush: yeh mom ki handwriting hain!! Mom ne note choda hain!! (excited, takes the piece of paper from Khushboo's hand, sits on the bed, Khushboo smiles and joins him on the bed)

Aayush reads, it's written in simple language, at places paper is soaked…Aayush's expression changes, as well of Khushboo's…

Shaan's thoughts had come to a halt when he had seen his mom calling him…he wonders why Khanak didn't call him…He doesn't receive the call…sits in the same position…

He did receive her message yesterday, he had decided to throw his feelings in front of her, but when she had smiled at Aman, he had felt bad…

He wanted her to wait for him, he wanted her attention, lately though, instead of that, she had gone to caf with Aman…

But, he did wanted to compose himself more harder, so that she doesn't get to see this side of him…

He also feared that, even she would broke sooner…but didn't he know that she's the most bravest in handling these situations?? Now, he gets that, she would have held him, she would have made him smiled, she would have brought into his normal position, in no time…

Why didn't he speak with her??? He questions himself….

Not wanting to make her wait anymore, he gets up suddenly, goes to the washroom, freshens himself, wears his clothes…

Rushes to his house…

Finds the house to be super quite, he wonders whether she had left for hospital, checkes his watch, hopes for best to see her…

Goes to his room, sees her phone lying on the bed, he smiles, thinking that she's still home..

Without any second thoughts, reaches Aayush's room, he finds his mom, dadi, Aayush standing silently…

Dadi has hugged Aayush…Aayush is sitting on bed…Khushboo is talking over in the phone…

Khushboo: are you sure Raj?? (tensed, she's also in tears) ek baar aur check karo, aur Dr. Lata, kya keh rahi hain??

Listens, Shaan has no idea, what's happening??

Khushboo: ok Raj…can you just once check at her apartment??

Raj assures her that, he will search for Khanak…Khushboo disconnects the call…

Shaan: what's happening??

Aayush looks at his papa, his eyes lit up for once, runs to his papa, and hugs his legs and sobs…

Shaan: Aayush!! (tensed) (gently moves out of the hug, Shaan kneels down in front of him)

Shaan: kya hua?? Aur Khanak kaha hain?? (searches the room for her)

Khushboo: chali gayi…

Max Hospital, Dehradun…

She walks to the enquiry counter, tries to remember the first name of the doctor, it fails…She doesn't remember the first name…But still confidently walks to the counter…

Khanak: Excuse me, can I meet Dr. Kalra??

Receptionist: mam, do you have your appointment?? If you don't then sorry maam you can't meet him…

She feels like her attempts are failing, but still holds her grounds…

Khanak: No, problem I'll meet him when he becomes free…(hopes for the best)

Receptionist: mam, Dr. Avinal Kalra (catches the name now) is busy…why do you want to meet him??

A ray of hope…

Khanak: hmm…(clears her throat, breathes deeply) I heard that he want some assistance….im Dr.Khanak!!

Receptionist: oh!! Ok maam, you can go to the third floor…

Khanak: (surprised)oh!! Thanks…(tries to smile, but it just looked like as though its just a twitch)

Khanak: if you don't mind can I keep my baggage here..no!! im not telling you to look over it, I'll just keep….

Receptionist: its ok maam…but I can't assure you…

Khanak: No problem…She just keeps her baggage and leaves…

Takes the elevator, she feels weak, she has not been eating properly, she had skipped her dinner, she's here without even having something…

She steps out…she can see that, the floor is posh, and clean, air conditioned…she thinks its bigger than her Mumbai Hospital..Thinking of the hospital, reminds of Aayush running around the corridors, she inhales deeply, her eyes clouds with her tears, she just holds it back, its not the time for her to break down…

After waiting for a long hour, she was allowed in to meet Dr. Kalra…She sees that doctor seems to be in late 30's, she's seated in front of him…

He's intriviewing her…seeing her papers, her doctor certificate….she also tell him that, she's finished her post graduation and waiting for her results…

Doctor is impressed!! Because of the flu he needed someone experienced, and he found one…

Dr. Kalra: ok Dr. Khanak!! I'll talk with Hospital authorities…but I think it'll be your temporary job, after 3 months, it'll get permanent…

Khanak: Thanks a lot Dr. Kalra…(gratified)

Dr. Kalra: Are you new to doon?? (looking into her file)

Khanak: (hesitates..but its better to tell the truth) yes…

He looks back at her, amused…

Kalra: where are you staying??

Khanak: I've still not looked for the housing will do it…

Kalra: oh…do you wanted some help in that???

Khanak: im not sure doctor…I mean…I don't know the localities…u know…

Kalra: are you alone????

Khanak: (thinks for a minute before answering) yes!!

Kalra: I think you can check the hospital's notice board, some girls working here, are looking for some people to stay with them…u know…for PG's….

Khanak: Thanks doctor!! I'll surely look into it…(gratified)

Kalra: so, can we expect you for job tomorrow??

Khanak: sure sir!! Thanks a lot…

Kalra: no problem!! You made it on time…Khanak smiles…

Kalra: tomorrow you'll get a letter, can I have your number??

Khanak: hmm…voh…actually I've to buy a new phone….
