Part 35

28^th March '12, 11:00 AM

Khanak walked hand in hand with Shaan in the corridor of the hospital that looked strangely familiar. Shaan gave a sideward look to Khanak as she read the boards outside every room. In the past month and a half she had resumed her advanced English classes and not only could she speak English properly but had also become a pro at reading fluently. Shaan smiled at her as she read.

"Dr. Maan, Gynaechologist, American Board of Obstetrics and Gynaechology. " Khanak read slowly. "AADMI gynaechologist hain?!" Khanak gasped as soon as she read and turned to Shaan vehemently.

Shaan laughed. "Relax Khanak----loads of male doctors are gynaechologists!"

Khanak slapped her hand to her mouth. "Laikin Shaananu?! Aisa kaisay----"

"God Khanak TUMHARA doctor toh aadmi nahi hain na! Toh chill karo!" Shaan said rolling his eyes. "And SO what if a guy is a gynachologist! Men understand the female system better anyway----" he added naughtily making Khanak's face heat up as she quickened her pace.

Shaan grinned and hurried to keep up with her. They were going to visit Geeta had taken a complete physical test the day before and Geeta had wanted to discuss her reports with the two of them on Saturday. Since it was Shaan's day off work too, he took Khanak for an appointment with Geeta early in the morning and hoped that the latter would tell him what he had wanted to hear since what seemed to him, the passing of a few years.

Khanak knew what was going on in Shaan's mind. She thought back to the night a week ago where Shaan had snuggled up to her in bed at night and whispered in her ear when she was already half sleep. "Khanak----we'll be going ot Geeta soon----to find out----you----know----what----" he had said huskily breathing into her ear. Khanak had made a sound of agreement sleepily and had fallen asleep within the next few minutes but had woken up the next morning with a high dose of sdrenaline in the pit of her stomach which she could not explain. As Khanak entered Geeta's room in the hospital she looked at Shaan again and felt that same feeling in her stomach. The feeling that had just 20 % of excitement but which had 80 % of some other unexplainable emotion she could not place.

"Hurry Shaan, Khanak come quick! You guys are already late----" Geeta said impatiently as soon as she saw them.

Shaan raised his eyebrows and took a seat opposite Geeta while Khanak looked at the floor while she entered and took the second chair opposite Geeta. "So ermm---took a look at Khanak's reports?" Shaan asked a very distracted Geeta nonchalantly.

"Ermm yeaa----" she said as she moved some files from her table, stacked them and kept them in a corner. "So Shaan---Khanak----I took a look at all the reports---all of Khanak's tests---and well long story cut short----you two can resume your physical relationship----"

Shaan felt chocolates popping into his heart when he heard that but agin, tried to look nonchalant as though the news did not affect him one bit. Khanak began to look down again, completely avoiding Geeta's eyes. Geeta rolled her eyes at Shaan's feigned indifference to the news she had just given out and Khanak's shyness. She decided to tackle Khanak first. "God Khanak! I was your doctor when you were having your baby!" she said pointing to herself. "I'm the LAST person in this world you're supposed to be shy with!" she said hurriedly. "And YOU Shaan stop pretending it doesn't matter to you!" she said huffily.

Khanak looked ashamed and looked at Geeta apologetically. Shaan looked unabashed. "Someone's getting ----jealous---" He said with a fake cough, making Geeta's nostrils flair. "So what's the major hurry anyway! Do you have flight to catch?" he said jokingly, laughing.

"As a matter of fact I do!" she said shortly. " I need to pack!I TOLD you I'm leaving for London for vacation!!"

"What?! Nowww?!! But then who's going to take care of Khanak?!" he asked challengingly pointing at Khanak. Khanak glared at his insensitivity.

Geeta looked unaffected. "Shaan I am a Gynaechlogist" she said pointing at herself. "And KHANAK is NOT pregnant right now!I promise you I will be back by the time she is so stop whining---Khanak I'm writing soen some new medicines and vitamins for you---make sure you have them if you guys plan to conceive immediately " she said turning to Khanak as well. Okay guys I REALLY need to go now!" Geeta looked at the two of them, hoping htme to get up and leave.

Khanak smiled at Geeta. "Thankyou Geeta jee----" she said getting up and glaring at Shaan again, who remained fixed in his seat. "Shaantanu!! Chalayyy!" she said shaking his arm and making him get out of his thinking mode. Hand in hand they left the hospital together with the licence for them to resume their physical relationship secure in their free hands.

30^th April 2012, 05:00 PM

Shaan got off from his car at the caf with Mitul and slammed the door close but when he turned the key in the key hole it would not lock. He struggled with the lock a few times but to no avail. Mitul came round to see what the problem was.

"You might want to reopen the door and put the seat belt where it belongs. "Mitul said pointing at the seat belt that was hanging outside. Annoyed Shaan reopened the door and flung the seat belt on the seat before he slammed it again. Mitul grinned as Shaan took off his shades and entered the caf.

"So? Still no leads on the situation?" Mitul asked Shaan cautiously, resisting the urge to grin openly.

Shaan raised his eyebrows and looked at him edgily. "Funny you ask----but the answer is No----" he said calmly. Mitul said nothing. Shaan ordered two coffees and made himself comfortable on the sofa. Mitul took the chair.

"Hey look there----there's Geeta! " Mitul said suddenly pointing. Geeta was waling towards the exit with a lady. She spotted them and walked towards them smiling broadly. Her friend followed.

"When did she come back from London?" Shaan looked towards her and asked Mitul, shocked.

"I am came day before yesterday----"Geeta said coming over. "Guys this is my friend Sonia----Sonia this is Mitul---and this is Shaan----" she said introducing.

"Wow Geeta I didn't know you had such good looking friends---" Sonia said flirtingly as she shook hands with Mitul.

"Good looking and married----" Mitul added smiling as Sonia withdrew her hand from him and shook Shaan's.

"Oh what a bummer!" Sonia said, disappointed. "What about you though?" Sonia asked Shaan giving him a small wink. "Are you married too?"

"Well it depends----"Shaan said shrugging and smiling flirtingly looking straight at her "Are you?"

Sonia gave a flowery laugh as her phone rang. "Oh gosh I have to leave. Thanks for the coffee Geeta. Looking forward to seeing you soon----Shaan you too----" Sonia said giving him another wink.

Shaan smiled, amused and raised his cup of coffee to her as she left.

"Oh put that down Shaan---"Geeta said sniffily rolling her eyes. Shaan laughed and did as she said."That was the lamest form of flirting I have ever seen a married man do!------Anyway! So? What's the deal? I'm back at work! When is Khanak going to come and meet me and become my customer?" she asked excitedly."It's been a month!Perfect timing!"

"Err yea that's not going to happen----not with how things are going at present---. " Shaan said resignedly, sipping his coffee. "We haven't done anything---" he said looking sideways at Mitul to check whether he was not getting grossed out with this conversation. Mitul's lips had thinned but otherwise remained quiet and expressionless.

"WHATTT?! WHYY!!? HOWWW!! HOWW is that even POSSIBLE!?" Geeta cried. "I TOLD you----is Khanak okay? Did anything happen to her while----"

"Khanak is fine!" Shaan snapped as Mitul looked around to check if people were listening in. Geeta's loud voice was sure to have attracted attention. "It's just----it's just----" Shaan sighed. "She's not ready----" he took a deep breath. Geeta looked at Shaan blankly. It made him laugh. "Fine! I'll tell you what happened----Everything was fine----after we came back from meeting you that day I told Khanak that----that that night was the night-----" Shaan looked at Mitul who still continued to sip his coffee silently."And then------well then-----"

Everythingthing was perfect. Completely according to how Shaan had planned it. The candle light dinner was done. The room was decorated waiting to welcome the couple in love. The licence to make love that Geeta had handed them that morning was safely tucked in the closet of their room, no one bothering about it now.

Khanak had come back to her room after the candle light dinner in the hall to find the room decorated with her favourite roses, the bed decorated with petals and dim lights that filled the room. Even though fragrance was not needed, the room was full of the smell of lavender air freshener which was Khanak's favourite too. Khanak's stomach begn to churn uncomfortable when she saw all this. It made her heart beat go at rapid speed and she felt her hands sweating.

Shaan had deliberately given Khanak a head start into the room so that she could find what he wanted to find. The golden/offwhite lahenga that she had worn the night they had first made love. Shaan himself had changed into the white shirt and pant that he was wearing that night .

Khanak looked at the petalled bed. There was a box and a note. "Yay lahenga pahen lo Khanak" she read. Her hands began to shake. Something, and she could not place what, was not feeling too good. Perhaps it was the food, she thought. She picked up the lahenga and whispered a small "wow" as she let the material slip in her hands. Why did Shaan want her to wear this? She wondered.

Shaan enetered the room exactly after 15 minutes of Khanak entering. The timing was planned perfectly. He had estimated that Khanak would look around the room in five minutes and change in another ten. How right he was for when he opened the door to his room, there she stood, his princess. Shaan grinned and closed the door behind him locking it carefully.

Khanak wrung her hands. She suddenly felt naked with her stomach showing completely. She sought to arrange her dupatta over her bare stomach. She could not understand why but she did not have a good feeling about this. "Main Shaantanu ki patni bannay wali hoon?!" she kept repeatedly saying to herself. Instead of the sentence calming her down, it made her panick even more.

Shaan came over and touched her dupatta lightly on her shoulder, making it fall just like he had done that night. Khanak took an intake of breath. Shaan smiled. Everything was ging according to plan, he thought happily. Ahhh it's worth it taking a leaf out of Geeta's book once in a while, he thought. He engulfed Khanak's waist from the back and pressed his hands to her flat stomach sending a shiver down her spine. Without wasting time, his mouth reached the side of her neck and began to kiss it, ferociously trailing down to her collar bone and her shoulder bone as he hastened to remover her blouse with his thumb.

Khanak gasped and turned around to face Shaantanu, her hands on his chest tightened as fists and her head resting on it too so that Shaan could not see. "Shaantanu!" she said. "Pleasee----"

Shaan held her shoulders a bit shocked. "Khanak? Kya hua?" he asked lifting her face. "Main toh----"

"Shaantanu----main yay----yay sub----nahi karsakti-----" Khanak said softly but with desperation.

"Kya?" Shaan said thinking he had not heard correctly. "Khanak---"

"Shaantanu----mujh say yay sub----yay sub nahi hoga------" Khanak said feverishly, moving back. "Mujhay----mujhay-----mujhay kuch nahi aata-----mujhay kuch yaad nahi hain-----" she said hurriedly, making no sense.

Shaan was so relieved that this was the reason for Khanak to move back that he actually laughed. "Khanak-----Khanak it's okay---" Shaan said coming close to her again and holding her face, coming close to her lips. "It's okay----we've done this before-----" he whispered calmly.

Khanak moved back again. "Main jaanti hoon----par Shaantanu----mujh say yay sub----aap nay yay sara kumra sajaya---itna sub kuch kiya-----yay kapray diyaay----aur mainay toh kuch nahi kiya-----mujhay seriously kuch nahi aata----main yay nahi kar sakti Shaantanu----I don't remember----" she said now teary eyed.

Shaan panicked when he saw tears in Khanak's eyes. "Okay---okay theek hain-----theek hain Khanak----" he said composedly, wiping her tears and rubbing her shoulders. "It's okay----tumhay yaad nahi koi baat nai----don't worry----it's okay----"Shaan kept repeating trying to calm her down and hugging her. "Upset nahi ho---please"

"Shaantanu I'm sorryyy----main buhat buri patni hoon na?" Khanak said croakily in Shaan's chest.

Shaan smiled and pressed her closer to him. "Nahi----bilkul nahi-----tum zyada stress muth lo Khanak---hmm? " Khanak moved back and did not meet Shaan's eyes. Shaan picked up Khanak's dupatta from the floor and placed it on her shoulder, then wrapped it around her. "Heyyy-----I'm not going to do this if you're not ready-----you understand?----when you're ready I will be be ready----hmmm?" he said looking forcing her to look at him, holding her chin.

Khanak nodded with a gulp. Then hugged Shaan back. No more words were needed.

"----Aur buss! That fateful day and now this fateful day a month later and she's still not ready-----" Shaan finished drainng the last cold drops of coffee in his mouth. Mitul looked mildly amused at the story but Geeta looked positively alarmed.

"You fool!!!" Geeta said suddenly making Shaan jump in the sofa "You PLANNED it?!! SHAAN! How could you be so stupid!!??"

"What!?! I thought "PLANNING" was the most brilliant thing to do in the planet?!" he said highly stung by Geeta's words. Was she not the one who kept telling him to "Plan" stuff all the time?! Then how could she just turn around and change her statement?

"Yes it IS! But not for THIS?!!" Geeta said impatiently. "You were NOT supposed to 'plan' this night! It was supposed to happen in the spur of the moment! Don't you get it?!"

"NO!" Shaan said slanderously. "How are YOU supposed to know HOW it's supposed to happen?!" he shot back.

"Ahem Aheeemm" Mitul coughed pointedly, making Shaan and Geeta both turn towards him. "As a matter of fact----I think Geeta is right Shaan----"

Shaan looked at Mitul in open mouthed shock. "What?!"

"Yes indeed Shaan" he said keeping his mug on the table too. "Planning, as you saw for yourself, would hardly work here. By carrying out everything perfectly, according to time, place, etc everything you kind of, what should I say, 'freaked' out bhabhi--- who began to think you expect too much from her----"

"But that's not true---I----" Shaan began defensively.

"What you need to understand Shaan is that bhabhi STILL does not remember what it was like sharing a physical relationship with you----she was obviously overwhelmed by what you did for her----the candle light dinner, the decorations everything----- and she thought you expected 'more' from her in terms of your ----errmm desires which she had no idea how to fulfil----you were more into how to make it special for the two of you (like you always do) rather than keeping in mind that it was ----in essence--- the first time for her"

"Right----"Shaan said disgruntled. "Great! Brilliant! No planning. On the spur of the moment. Right" he continued to be shocked.

"Exactly! ----So can I expect her to become my customer next month then?" Geeta asked brightly.

Shaan looked at her uncertainly and rolled his eyes.

Thanks Ammu :) Its going to be mindblowing for sure LOL! Poor Shaan i agree! When he doesnt plan he gets yelled at when he does he gets yelled at! hehehe i feel bad for Khanak too! hehehe

well everything seems to be backfiring on Shaan and poor Khanak.she's still in turmoil.

Great update Beeni👏⭐️...Typical Shaan😆...Poor guy, it was thoughtful of him to recreat their first time again...But as Mitul pointed out, it was too much for Khanak...
