Part 24B

Arpita was making coffee in the open kitchen, attached to the living room, when Kunal startled her by wrapping his arms around her waist and kept his chin on her shoulder. Arpita smiled & said while doing her work "Kunal, main coffee bana rahi hoon"

"Jaanta hoon" Kunal replied huskily.

"achha, toh kya tum yeh bhi jaante ho ke tum mujhe disturb kar rahe ho??"

"Arpita issey disturb nahi issey pyar kahete hai"

Arpita poured the coffee in their respective cups, while blushing.

Its been 4days, they are back from their honeymoon.

Kunal started kissing her neck when his phone's ringtone spoiled their romance.

He got annoyed at the call "see now, disturb karna issey kahete hai" referring to the phone call.

"now go & pick it" Arpita said smiling at the same time pushing him.

"yeah, going. akhir dekhe toh zara kiski timing itni kharab hai" he strode to where his phone was lying. seeing the caller he said loud enough for Arpita to hear him. "Man!!! I should have guessed it."

Arpita came out of the open kitchen, holding two cups full of steaming hot coffee "who is it???"

"who else can it be???" he replied grinning.

First, Arpita was confused, but when she realized, started smiling broadly "Omg!!! Hero…"

"yes Hero"

Kunal answered the call, keeping it on loudspeaker. Arpita strode & stood beside him, after placing the cups on the center table.

"where is Khanak???" no hii , no hello came Shaan's direct question.

"well, Hello to you too Shaan" Kunal chuckled.

"sorry, no I mean Hello,,,,,,,I mean ughhh Khanak kaaha hai yar???" he was restless.

"Shaan tu kaaha hai???" Kunal asked, this time he was serious.

"Mumbai me, uski ghar ki bahar khara hoon" he replied looking at the closed gate.

"but what are you doing there?? Kanks toh ghar pe hai hi nahi " Arpita informed him about the news which he already knew.

"arey Arpi yar, I can see that, issiliye toh tujhse pooch raha hoon" he said.

Kunal gave the answer when he saw Arpita doing a 'oh!! like that' expression at her realization "Shaan , Khanak went to her native".

"native, you mean Delhi?? par kyu???" he was again confused.

Arpita started saying "Shaan , woh Kanks ka,,,,,,, " she wasn't able to complete it as Kunal cut her, seeing that his wife is getting ready to narrate the whole thing over the phone & so he spoke to Shaan, "ek kaam kar Shaan yaha humare ghar aaja,,,,phone pe saari baatein nahi hosakti"

"umm,,,," he thought for a second, sighed & agreed "ok, I am coming"

"good, come soon" kunal replied. And ended the call.

After few seconds Shaan again called "abey ghar ka address tu dega, ya google se poochna parega"

"address se yaad ayaa, tu hamare wedding reception par nahi ayaa" Kunal said while taking some mental notes.

Shaan was getting impatient "arey yar, galti ho gayi agli bar zarror ayuunga, ab address de de mere bhai"

Arpita suddenly came in between "agli bar?? What do you mean by agli bar,,huh??"

Kunal tried to stop her "ek min, ek min " then back to Shaan "Shaan I am texting you"

"ok"

Arpita went back to the kitchen.

"what are you doing Arpita?? Your coffee is getting cold" Kunal said, taking a sip of his hot coffee.

"yes, coming. I need to prepare a good dinner, Shaan is a foodie" she said remembering the old days when Shaan, Kanks, Arpi & Tannu used to hang out together.

"I know, pata nahi what he have been eating in Bangalore " Kunal spoke wondering.

Kunal & Arpita lives at their own apartment, apart from his parents as this place is very close to his office. Every Friday they goes to stay with his parents in his house & spends the entire weekend with them.

when Shaan came to their place, he received a warm welcome from them.

Kunal gave him a tight hug "God!! Long time,,,,,,, " breaking the hug then "how have you been??"

Shaan pressed his lips together, thinking what to answer.

"chall mat baata, I can see that " Kunal spoke.

Shaan hugged Arpita too "good to see you both yar, after this long time"

Arpita punched him in his belly "you idiot"

"oh Lord! you haven't changed, aur haan your friend is no less" he said placing his one hand on his belly.

"I agree"

"you both are just like the same, perfect for each other" Kunal said smilling broadly.

All 3 of them were sitting on the cough, discussing over Khanak & the mysterious fly down to Delhi.

"now, what is with her?? Delhi kya Qutub minar ya Red fort dekhne gayi hai woh???" Shaan said in frustration.

"I don't know, we were in honeymoon & Tannu too was out of town for her show. My mother told me that she has gone to her native. Few days back, I received a mail from her, usney likha ke she has a big surprise for us. Main ne phone pe ussey baat ki, phir bhi she didn't say much about that surprise thing, only told us to b present on 10^th at some hotel, hotel ka naam,,,, umm I need to check. She said the same to Tannu also." Arpita thought for few seconds if she is missing anymore details, and then remembered "aur haan, she sounded very happy & excited too,,,, zaroorat se zaada " she narrated the whole story.

Listening to it, Shaan said, holding her head with his fingers "guys do me favour, book a asylum for me".

Both the husband & wife didn't know whether to laugh at his sarcasm or to pity his condition.

"nahi, not asylum, we will book air tickets to Delhi, waise hamari tickets already booked hai for tomorrow, let me check, if I can get another one for you Shaan". Kunal said getting up from the cough.

Arpita was placing dinner on the table; Kunal was still checking for the ticket,,,sometimes talking over phone with different people. Shaan could hear only Kunal's part of the phone conversation, sitting on the chair anxiously.

After some time Kunal came back & took his seat at the dinning table, joining them for dinner.

Kya hua??" Shaan asked.

"tickets available nahi tha kal ke flight ke liye toh I cancelled mine & Arpita's tickets, and we'll be going together on Monday" Kunal explained.

"Monday, you mean on 10^th itself,,,the mysterious day" Arpita asked for confirmation, inside a little tensed.

"hmmm. Tannu bhi uss din hi delhi pohochegi, Sameer bhi hoga" Kunal replied.

Shaan didn't say anything clasping his fingers together, Arpita & Kunal exchanged a glance, conserved & tensed.

Kunal squeezed Shaan's "don't worry everything will be fine"

"I'll make everything fine " Shaan said confidently.

His confidence made Kunal & Arpita smiled broadly, and now it seemed like everything is SURELY going to be fine.

"ab Khaana bhi khaalo, itna bura bhi nahi hai" Arpita said pouting.

Kunal & Shaan smiled.They started eating.

"so, dinner kaisa baana???" Arpita asked Shaan, wiggling her eyebrows.

"wonderful, after a long time, main ne home made food khaaya aaj" he replied with a sad smile, yet he looked adorable.

Kunal smiled "ab tu agaya na, ab roz millega"

Arpita eased the atmosphere, "omg!! I had never thought my food will be praised like this, it made you emotional, main toh dhanya ho gayi"

The way Arpita said with added emotions, facial expression, her hands movement,,,, that Shaan had a real laugh after a long time.
