The elevator slides to a noiseless halt. "The country's top construction company is housed here, the elevators cant be creaky" smiles to herself. People forget the line and jump in.

"I had to go pick up my Dad at the airport at 4, the driver's kid is sick, so Dad wanted me to go check on him at Cama Albless (govt) hospital. Gawd! I am never driving to that part of town (Dhobi Talao)ever again. My driver was gone for the day'.. the hospital was awful man! Ive been up all nite, I think"

Went out for lunch with Nivedita and Paula''.. hoping they would talk about him''. Or atleast share some news about him''.. his life''''. She was never coy'.. she had infact walked up to Sooraj at the SPA cafeteria the first time. She had asked him out for the Diwali party the final year.

She had showed up at his PG dig on Holi morning. She would walk in to class and go sit by him all through the final year. He used to be amused but didn't say a thing

No answer''.. she got a busy tone from her brain

Ofcourse not! She had over 500 emails to respond to and being at the client afforded very lil time for such mundane tasks. So that's what she did on Wednesday

She was back at Ajmera on thurday''' in a lemon and green ankle length chiffon skirt and a lemon colored blouse and had braided her hair''. Some strands were escaping to their freedom by the end of the day'''.. with her hair being barely shoulder length and too silky a braid was just not the thing''. The kohl was back in her eyes with some yellow gold tinted bangles in her right wrist'''.

Talked herself hoarse''' walked across the street to Coffee Day to grab a latte and walked over to Nivedita's cube'. She was upset at being left behind on the coffee trip''' promised she wud be with Khanak in a few minutes when she wrapped up the email she was working on.

Nivedita and khanak had a full afternoon lined up''

Returned to the conference room'' it was empty''.. there was a ladder placed in the middle, some ceiling boards were skewed'' hit the space key on the PC''.. the overhead projector had been messed with the image was shooting away from the screen''' she reached up to adjust it'. It was too high. Pulled the ladder close to the huge oval table in the center''' and climbed up'.. reached and moved the projector '' the image needed to be expanded'''.the door opened

The full screen image appeared, she reached out and adjusted the proj some more'' smiling turned around to thank her. She didn't fall off the ladder'''. Made it''. If only barely'''.. not before giving him a peek at her midriff''.

And his most challenging problem''.. now he had one more thing competing for the top spot in his mental list of her'''.. hair, smile, eyes and now her waist'''' she was competent resourceful brilliant AND most importantly was not afraid to climb a ladder! 😃
