Khanak's face pales when she looks at him in a sling. There is no cast, but a sling, he doesn't get up from the couch, buries himself further

Khanak: what happened to you?

Shaan is still changing channels on TV

Khanak stands obstructing his view of the TV "Shantanu" (worried)

He looks up from his remote. It always works!

Shaan: Are u sad its not worse?

Khanak starts to cry "That's such a terrible things to say" turns away to wipe her tears

Walks away from him, he springs up on his feet, follows her, pulls her arm. She has walked to one of the waist length table places by a wall, with two lamps on the sides and some pictures and a vase in the center.

Shaan: Why are you here?

Khanak: To see Hari Lal (miffed) (looks at his feet as he is standing too close)

Shaan: Shouldn't you be downstairs?

Khanak: I met him already

Khanak: What did you do your self? Aap apna khayaal nahi rakh sakte? (sincere, worried, afraid, anguished)😭😳

Looks up at him, still teary eyed.

Shaan: Are you going to cry now? .............. Hari Lal is not going to like it (grins)😆

Khanak: Not funny! (but smiles)

Shaan: Did you really come to see me?😳

Khanak: Not really! Nivs was looking for someone to go with (soft)

Shaan: You probably jumped up and yelled "Me! Me! Me!" (grins)

Khanak thinks "not quite yelled but prayed" "You are still so full of it" (taunts)

He takes a step further

Khanak: HOW did you get hurt? (reaches out to touch his arm, but stops, he is waiting to feel her hand, he watches it stop an inch away, he doesn't raise his forearm either)

Shaan: Some idiot was driving drunk

She takes that suspended hand to cover her mouth in shock "OMG! OMG! Oh! No!"

Shaan: Khanak'' look I AM OK...................... Whats wrong? (he suspects something)

Khanak: OMG! He could have................ (covers her face with her hands)

Shaan: Khanak'.. (pleads) mujhe kuch nahi hua.............. The Doc wants me to wear it until the shoulder swelling subsides. I was event scraped much"

Khanak: You were lucky....................... you are lucky............... good (sounds as if she just thanked somebody)

Shakes her head, eyes closed''..

Shaan: You are not supposed to look so gorgeous when I feel so beat up you know. There is a law against such things" (breathes all over her head and face)

She opens her eyes and looks at his face, inches away''..

Khanak: There is also a law that says you should be driving carefully (stern)

Shaan continues to caress her with his breath " I was not driving"

His closeness causes that remark to take a moment to register

Khanak: What? You were not driving?..... then how''.. I mean WHO WAS?................ No! Don't tell me (blisters)

Shaan: Khanak'' the driver

Khanak: Oh! (looks at his feet again, clean, well groomed, in white strappy flats)

Khanak: You are not supposed to wear shoes inside the house (points with her right index finger)

He grabs the finger "these are not shoes" with his good left hand

Khanak tugs''''.but he doesn't let go "I mean what ever they are. That's another rule you broke right there"

Khanak: You have to let go of my hand

Shaan: Look for another rule I broke. (teases)

Khanak: There are just too many (for starters you are attracted to a schoolmarm widow). "You are trying to kiss me and haven't shaved"''..😳

Shaan: I don't want to kiss you (grins)

Knock on the door'''..they both exchange one last heated look, he is still holding her finger.

Shaan: Yep!

Nivs walks in'' she is unable to see her finger held captive, as it behind a couch'.

She pants theatrically and dumps the care basket on the couch "Kya hai isme? Khanak do you know what Paula filled it with?"

Khanak tugs her finger to signal him to release her, he grins at Nivs and continues to hold on to it.

Shaan: Let me guess''. (winks at Nivs)

Nivs: You have a dirty mind Mr Gujral (walks over to him and punches playfully on his right arm)

Just as she is about to get to them he lets go of her finger

Shaan: OUCH!

Khanak: Nivs! (shrill)

Nivs looks at her in shock for a second

Khanak: Mujhe laga u punched him hard (embarrassed)

Nivs: He is our fitness poster child , have you noticed his muscles, he is incredibly strong (partly intended to cheer him up)

Shaan is watching her face carefully mischievously ............."I could just pick you up with one arm"(to Nivs)

Nivs: Oh ya you could! ...........................the next Salman Khan in the making''.(grins)

Shaan: Hello! Quit razzing me I AM THE INJURED ONE if you remember?

Nivs hugs Shaan " you scared us all you pig!"

Nivs: REALLY? (shocked)

Khanak: No! I think he has a concussion (shoots fire at him)

Nivs: Khanak's the sweetest Shaan, how could you, she may not be the most chatty, but the cutest.

Khanak "thanks" (looks at shaan with a "there!!" expression)

Shaan: I don't agree Nivs, she comes across as pretty arrogant to me (mocks)

Nivs: she is aloof and quiet but isa softie on the inside (gives khanak a genuine smile)

Shaan: I just know the outside is pretty prickly (relentless)

She walks in a huff to check out the care basket, opens it without asking for permission, candy, muffins, packaged chicken soup, paperbacks, and an electric shaver line up on the table

Shaan has walked up by her now "Paula and her prank gifts" (laughs out loud, picking up the shaver)

Shaan: but it should come in handy (rubs his hand on his jaw)😳😳😳

Khank walks far far away''..

Nivs: Ooh! Muffins! But u know what, they are prolly not half as good as Mahi's.

Shaan: You think so? (bland)

He picks up the pack and checks it out

Nivs: Khanak, Shaan's girlfriend makes the BEST MUFFINS in town

Khanak is sitting on the farthest end of the sofa leafing thru a Sports Illustrated, trying to act like she is concentrating.

Nivs: Khanak: Tum meri baat sun rahi ho kya? (Unwraps the Toblerone, helping herself to it) Mahi used to bring those in every Friday. What a treat''''

Shaan saunters lazily and sits by Khanak''. Inches away

Grabs her mag and throws it on the table "Its rude to read when someone is talking Khanak"

Khanak: I am listening... and loving it all (for his ears only)

Shaan: I thought you might.

Hari Lal kocks "Aapke daftar se koi hai. Aap aakar baat kar leejiye"

Shaan: Ek minute hari lal

Nivs: Do u mind? Gujral? I could go

Shaan: Really? Thanks!

Nivs: Let me go check, be back in a min guys! (leaves)

Khanak: I am going to go wait for her (cool aloof)

Shaan: Thanks for stopping by Khanak

Khanak: Enjoy your muffins (jumps up, walks over to the table, tears open a bag of M&Ms it spills all over the rug)

Khanak: Oh! No! (tucks her pallu in her waist) kneels down and starts gathering them, he is sitting a foot away stretched out fully, just watching her from between his lashes, with a half smile)

She pops a couple from the bag in her mouth in between, he is watching her, it reminds him of a child collecting sea shells at the beach'''.Child like, she picks it up with her right hand and transfers it to her left...............

Shaan: Did u wear the saree for me?

Khanak: Not really, I have to go to Mahalaxmi tonite

Shaan: But u came to see me''

She goes back to the bag, and grabs one to eat'' "Ooh shimmer platinum" goes to pop it, he leans forward and grabs her glass bangled wrist "sorry, that my fave, and its my bag, so I get to eat it"

Khanak: This is silly

Shaan: but its mine! (shakes her arm gently, over his mouth)

Lets his thumb play a note on her bangles and lets go

She quits cleaning up half way''. Stands up

Khanak: I have to go! ''' please take care of yourself................drive safe........... don't drive until u get better (looking at a spot behind his head)

Shaan: I plan to take three weeks off to heal!

She is shocked to hear that, so she meets his eyes

Khanak: THREE WEEKS?

Shaan: You wouldn't like that very much, would you Khanak? (smiles )
