I have started a new FF which is only Shanak...
and I am not making any pm list...I don't take risks😆...in case no one enrolls, it would be embarassing😳😆😆...
Similarly...I am not asking whether I should continue or not...as I will...see I told you I don't take risks by asking😆😆

Trespassers Prohibited
Shantanu and Samir were as usual the first ones to enter the board room. They checked the files, the projector arrangement done by the staff and occupied two chairs in the centre of the long oval discussion table.
Slowly the other staff started pouring in with centre managers, area managers and marketing planners taking their respective places. All exchanged their formal hellos and shook hands.
Samir turned to Shantanu and whispered, "Almost everyone has come dude, where is Khanak?"
"Why are you asking me?"
"Just like that. I thought you might know."
"Oh please ! spare me…… Already I am tensed by the fact that the MD is coming for the meet. Let me concentrate on my datas."
Shantanu was busy going through the files on his laptop…… at the same time he wanted to divert his attention from the stress of making the presentation of the business plan for the next three months.
The other managers were almost settled but most were relaxed as it was an outing for them. They had to simply listen to the plans and presentations of the area managers and the regional managers.
This meet was a routine for 'The Graceful You'….a chain of health and fitness centres across the country and abroad. They met once a month to discuss past month's performance and next months targets, goals and business plans. It was a little different this time as it was a country level meet and managers from all over the country had come. It was going to be chaired by the MD and CEO of the company and several country heads were coming for the meet. It was obvious that Shantanu Khandelwal, the Regional manager heading the 'west zone operations' with core areas around Mumbai, was a little nervous.
"Boss…..the Core Team has arrived." Samir nudged Shantanu.
Immediately, he lifted eyes up from the laptop and all of the members present in the room stood up.
Samir heaved a sigh of relief when he saw Khanak sneaking in slowly immediately behind the Core Team and trying to merge in a group of people standing up and shaking hands with the MD and CEO and country heads.
Shantanu looked at her and threw at her a very cold and angry stare which she comfortably ignored and went ahead and introduced herself.
Finally, all were seated and the proceedings started. Each team with it's members sat together. Shantanu sat at the extreme end of the table with Samir on one side and Khanak on his other side with 2 other managers after Khanak.
The MD started his speech on last months performance.
Samir turned to Shantanu and whispered, "All the best."
Shantanu looked at him and gave a questioning look raising his eyebrows simultaneously.
Samir did not speak, just smiled and gestured with his eyes and eyebrows asking him to look on his right.
Shantanu turned to his right to look at Khanak who was seated immediately next to him. He was irritated to see her as she was intently busy texting on her iphone in her lap and below the level of the table, avoiding everybody's eyes.
Slowly he let his right hand drop down in the space between their chairs and keeping it towards her, he snapped his two fingers, startling her. His eyes were constantly on the speaker so that undue attention was avoided.
She immediately looked up from her iphone and gave him a sheepish smile. He was tired of giving angry and stern looks to her but did not have any choice. He repeated his act simultaneously gesturing a question using his right hand which was still on the side and below the table so that no one could see it.
"Just a minute…" she did not speak but gestured using her eyes, eyebrows, lips and grinned.
Keeping his eyes still in the front and focusing on the proceedings, he stretched his hand and snatched her phone from her hands, took it in his own hands and switched it off.
Khanak was very annoyed but couldn't do much. To vent her anger, she picked her notepad…..turned it back and scribbled in capital letters…..SADU !!
Shantanu ignored her and seeing all this Samir tried hard to stop his laughter and lifted his glass of water to calm his funny bone.
The presentations were as boring as any boardroom presentations can be. They talked of high goals….plans to meet targets, focus on service qualities and blah blah blah.
This was Khanak's interpretation of the meet.
During his presentation, Shantanu noticed that Khanak was least interested in listening and concentrated on scribbling continuously on her notepad. He was more than sure that she was making his caricature or maybe a wrote some joke over the pad. But definitely not the datas and charts. This irritated him but he could not do anything and this helplessness irritated him further.
He tried to concentrate on the screen.
After the high beam members spoke'.the area managers were supposed to speak of their areas. But as it was running late, the area managers gave their presentation CDs to their regional managers to be ran in a flow to save time.
Likewise, much to her relief, Khanak's presentation was also shelved and she was asked to handover her CD to Shantanu to be played.
She immediately put her hand in her folder and took out a CD and gave it to him.Shantanu played the CD and sat on one side of the screen. Everybody watched intently. Within few seconds, he noticed the serious mood of the boardroom change to laughter. He threw a nervous glance at the screen and was astonished to see "Tom and Jerry"
He looked at Khanak who had stood up by now and was addressing the MD, "I am sorry Sir, by mistake I gave the wrong CD'..this is my CD'..!" She handed over her CD to Samir who took it to Shantanu while unable to control his smile.
Shantanu was extremely nervous but saw the MD and the CEO laughing hysterically cracking jokes at the managers and their hobbies.
Khanak smiled awkwardly to hide the embarrassment and noticed that Shantanu was the only one who was not laughing but instead was giving her murderous looks'..!!
"I am really sorry gentlemen, it was a blunder''''''. completely unexpected."
"No Mr. Shantanu Khandelwal, we are so impressed to see the level of comfort you have given to your team. They carry Tom and Jerry to the board meeting." The MD was in a better mood as Shantanu's team had performed very highly in the last month. They had broken all records and managed to achieve 110% of their target.
Shantanu very well knew the laws of the corporate. In case they did not perform this month or next month'the first thing they would be told is that how could you have worked when your team was watching Tom and Jerry in the office. He shuddered at the thought.
He silently prayed that it would never happen.
But it was different presently'.
He just smiled and, in a soft voice, said, "I am really sorry Sir. It will never be repeated."
"Oh Come'on. It's ok'we are almost done. And I am glad that we ended on a lighter note. Just finish with last 2 files and we'll disperse."
He nodded and put the new CD in the projector but simultaneously threw a glance at Khanak who was looking straight into his eyes.
His eyes didn't leave hers, his face taut and his jaw clenched. He clicked it on and sat on the chair near the screen facing the audience but still looking at her. Even she did not try to break the eyelock and bit her lower lip thinking how upset he must be with her. She so hated him...no, she needed to think. Really !!
What?? She corrected herself. She can't be thinking this'..that too in the middle of a meeting. Focus Khanak''Focus on the presentation, it's yours being played. They are going to grill you any minute from now''...
