She looked at the picture in his hands…she could not speak anything as she felt herself overcoming with emotions…

Khanak ran into her room …Shaan followed her immediately but before he could say anything …she shut the door behind her…

"Khanak…Khanak" he said banging the door…"Khanak I didn't want to hurt you…Khanak please open the door…Khanak darwaaza kholo please…Kha…"

She opened the door…making her best attempt to not cry…but could not hide the tears forming in her eyes…

"Yes its him" she spoke with a shaky voice "yahi woh insaan hain jiske wajah se main apne aap ko gunehgaar manti hoon…its him…shayad tumhe tumhara jawaab mil gaya Shaan…now please leave me alone…"

"Khanak…" he tried speaking…but she cuts him…

"Shaan please…main phir se rona nahi chahti …main thak gayi hoon…thak gayi hoon main…" she could not hold herself anymore and broke down…

Shaan wanted to console her but before that she shut the door again…

She leaned on her back against the door…he placed his hand on it…she began to slide down and so did Shaan's hand…as if being with her…sharing her pains…sharing her tears…she sat down completely…till his hand could not reach down further…

Shaan was sitting in his room…thinking about Khanak…when he heard the doorbell…

He opened the door…it was Mrs.Kapoor…

Shaan: aap?

Mrs.Kapoor: uh..kya main andar aa sakti hoon?

Shaan: ya sure…(he moved aside to let her in)

Mrs.Kapoor walked straight in and sat on the sofa…she asked Shaan to sit besides her…

She was quiet for sometime…as if finding exact words to speak…

She finally spoke…

Mrs.Kapoor: tumne Khanak se Varun ke baare main baat ki na..

Shaan: Varun…?

Mrs.Kapoor: ye Varun hain.. (showing him the picture)

Khanak was standing in her room near the window…she was looking up into the sky…thinking …

She closed her eyes remembering the incidents that changed her life…

She was still in her thoughts…she had a smile on her face…

She was laughing…she was happy…

She put her hand on his head …smiled at him and left…

Shaan didn't know what he will say to her…so he decided to leave…but as soon as he turned… he heard her voice…

Shaan turned around …she was still facing her back to him…

Shaan: nahi...actually...

Khanak: actually?

She turned around to face him …

Shaan: main bas..khuli hawa khaane aya tha..

Khanak: alright... toh mere saath hawa share karne main tumhe koi problem hain?

Shaan couldn't think of anything else to say…

Shaan: no ..koi problem nahi hain…

He smiled… stepped forward and stood besides her…

Shaan: aaj ka mausam kaafi acha hain na?

She spoke after a while…

Khanak: Varun was my boyfriend...humhari sagai hone wali thi..

Shaan looked at her …she was looking down…

He pulled off her jacket…unbuttoned his shirt…

A lone tear escaped her eyes as she tried speaking further…her voice was shaking…she wasn't facing him…her both hands had formed a fist…she closed her eyes …as she thought of the dreadful incident of her life…

Khanak sat down on her knees…she was crying "why me? Why me?" was all she said between sobs…Shaan moved towards her…put his hand on her shoulder…she had buried her face into her hands… he let her cry…let her free her heart…

Khanak: Woh sirf badla lena chahta tha…iss baat ka ki maine usse haan nahi kaha…usse thukraya …and for that he wanted to punish me…and I was helpless… helpless…I didn't even protest…didn't even protest..

Khanak couldn't stop crying as she relived her dark past…

Shaan could see her helplessness…her regret of not being able to save her innocence …but he couldn't do anything about it…other than being there with her as she tried to stop her tears…

She composed herself and spoke after a while…

Khanak: But that wasn't it...he wanted to do everything possible to ruin my life..

I wasn't completely conscious …just then Varun entered…but Rishab had everything planned already…

I was lying on the bed… I noticed my jacket was off and my dress was messy…

Shaan looked at her shocked…she looked back at him with teary eyes…

Khanak: yes..I decided to end my life..I ran out…he followed me…I jumped in front of a car…the driver turned it…he didn't hit me…he did not hit me …
