People getting/giving curse/d ....

I have watched NDTV Imagine's Ramayan from the very beginning itself, and I have been visiting Ramayana forum ever since it got created too. Ever since then, I am been an ardent fan of this holy saga + the actors' who have been portraying the role of Rama-Siya Maa-Laxman, Bharat etc.

One thing i noticed was that people in the period of Ramayana used to get/give curse/d left and right. Even the protector of human beings, Lord Narayana, wasn't spared.

yeaa..so i was wondering how come even great sages like Durvasa was always up to cursing people even if it was not their fault- example he nearly cursed Laxman+family? I thought sages were supposed to be calm and forgiving? ...and if Sage Durvasa was impatient and not understanding why did Lord Shiva consider him as his son?

all this getting/giving curse/d all the time ,and the fact that those curses' worked even when it wasn't that person's fault makes it sometimes hard for me to believe in the authenticity of Ramayana.


PS: i do not mean to offend anyone. however, these are the questions that arose in me while watching ramayana.so, i thought i'd share it wid you guys.

Angel it's leela of Lord Vishnu only. It is with his wish that people get cursed or give a curse.

It is always according to some "daivya yojna".

dashrathji was the best althroughout his life , but suffered so much coz of one mistake ... says we must be attentive all the time , even acts done unknowingly can make life horrible.

ya and it also means that people and especially sages pf that period were really powerful and divine unlike of nowdays

curses were given sometimes for the betterment of humanity but they were always instantaneous. all is God's planning. when in dwapar yuga, a saint cursed parikshit, his father told him that you have not done the right thing by acting in anger. that curse caused parikshit's death and kalyug came. that person then said that everybody will learn a lesson from this act tht sometimes it can prove disastrous.
