Sunil Lahiri (Laxman) says, "Arun and I have known each other for over 20 years. Even after Ramayan went off air we were in touch. We never thought that we will someday making TV serials together. In one of our meetings, recently, I discussed a concept with Arun and he loved it. He then went ahead and spoke to the authorities in DD and that's how the ball started rolling. Both of us are creatively involved and we are eager to see how our first show is received. Happy Home is a weekly show which stars Rakesh Pandey, Mushtak Khan, Rajendra Mehra, Vijay Kashyap, Aruna Sehgal, Parul, Himani, Madhav Mege, Geeta Shankar, Susheel Chhabra and Shauki Senani."
Lahiri further says, "Happy Home is a show about people who have passed the age of 60. They are ignored and marginalized by their family. The show starts with a Gujarati couple whose kids are in the US and how they start meeting more people who are also 60 plus years and how they get together to form a happy family. The show has the message that after you have reached 60 years and you have raised your kids you have no tension in your life, you should live life to the fullest."
