But it jives neatly with their myth that Kush & Luv were greater warriors than Rama. What I see them doing is projecting Krishna on to Kush.

But then the Krishna concept is spilling over to Luv-Kush? Atleast it spilled over, hopefully no more spills.

Actually, it goes back to part 1 of this thread. They showed that episode where Vishnu & Lakshmi are both sitting in Vaikuntha admiring Sita about to give birth, and Vibs raised the question of what an avatar is i.e. is it a clone of a god/godess, or the god/godess transformed.

That then started a discussion about the avatars, and it focussed on Kurma, since in Kurma avatar, Vishnu was first himself, then Kurma when he was supporting the mountain, and then Mohini. Note that Dasha avatar normally doesn't list Mohini as an avatar, and lists Buddha as #9, but some versions apparently don't include Buddha, and do include Balaram or Mohini. So the discussion then drifted to Mohini. We discussed a bit about Ayappa, and Lakshmi being Shiva's wife-in-law😉 thru Mohini

But what triggered the discussion in the first place was the Sagar depiction of Vishnu/Lakshmi existing in Vaikuntha at the same time that Rama/Sita was on Bhoomi-devi.

Thankyou so much Chandra, for explaining this. Now I can put in my 2cents....😉
An Avatar is usually a descent of the Lord in a specific form for a specific purpose. Does not mean non existence of Him in His original abode. And after the purpose is accomplished, the avatar merges with the Supreme formless Lord. And then the Lord always has the characteristic of being a Sarvavyaapi (omnipresent). So this can be confirmed in the Kurma Avatar, when He as the tortoise holds the Mandara mountain as well as He as Vishnu accepts Lakshmi. The Mohini Avatar comes into picture only after the churning is done and the "Amrit " is acquired.
But when Vishnu took the Mohini Avatar to distribute the Amrit, I wonder where Shiva was? (Probably in a hangover after he drank the Haalaahal😉). Bcoz as per what I read, it is said that Shiva heard about the captivating beauty of Mohini and came to Vishnu and requested Him to show Him that form of His. And thro' their yogic powers, both Shiva & Vishnu as Mohini end up in a forest (I think). It is said that Shiva fell for Mohini, but regained his senses soon. The Bhagavatpuran does not mention about Ayyappa though. Dont know if I missed it.

Oh yaa, that would be like a KBalachander's tamil movie. 😆
And the Sarvavyaapi concept could also be applied in this case of Vishnu-Lakshmi in Vaikunth and Ram-Sita in Bhulok.

Wait! So what about Bhasmasura case? Did Shiva show his appreciation to Vishnu too?
