Actually, only Hiranyakashipu. Rama did rule 11000 years after the death of Ravan & Kumbhakarna, and Krishna did run things long after the deaths of Kamsa, Shishupala & Dantavakra. So I was somewhat off for 5/6. Vidhi ka vidhan [ROFL]🤣

Vidhi ka Vidhan is the joke of this 'Kalpa' 😆😆Well one thing is that the yug-cycle is realted to vishnu-dashhavatar; the ratios of Satyayug, treta,Kaliyugis 4:3:2:1 likewise there were 4 avtars of vishnu in Satyayug: Matysa,Kurma,Varah, NrisimhaTreta: Vaman,Parashuram, Rama (who was born in the last phase of treta yuga)Dwapar yuga- Krishna,Balram ; somesay ninth avatar was Buddha but if Buddha was ninth avatar then the yr he was born isn't Kaliyuga.Kaliyuga: one avatar-Kalki yet to come....But what I don't understand is ,why 4 avatars in Satyayug😕 Satyayug is supposed to be the age of truth and in this age of truth Vishnu had to take four avatars to save this earth or rather truth on earth??😲While Kaliyug is the age of iron, age of falsehood and hypocrisy and vishnu wiill take only one avatar 😕
Veerabhadhra was created from a single strand of hair from Lord Shiva's head. When Lord Shiva heard of Sati's death, he was mad with rage and plucked out a single strand of hair and threw it on the ground. It became Veerabhadhra. He also shookhis head and from his locks there emerged millions of warriors (the sort of demon warriors who make Lord Shiva's army) He sent the army under the command of Veerabhadhra to destroy Daksha's Yaaga.
I know that Sati gave up her life after Daksha insulted Lord Shiva. I read somewhere that when Daksha insulted Lord Shiva, Sati took up the form of Bhadhrakaali and destroyed the yaaga along with Veerabhadhra. Some stories say that when Sati burnt herself (Am I right in saying that she entered the homa fire and burnt herself?) a form of her rose out as Bhadhrakaali and clong with Veerabhadhra destroyed the yaaga. Some stories say that Veerabhadhra and Bhadhrakaali lived as a couple. Some legends say that Veerabhadhra is also considered as Lord Shiva's son and some others say that Verabhadhra is a form of Lord Shiva.
Also, there was a fight between Veerabhadhra and Vishvaksena - I forgot when and why they fought. Veerabhadhra and impinged his trishul on Vishvaksena and he was stuck there for a long time till the matter was settled (between Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu) and Lord Vishnu asked Veerabhadhra to release Vishvaksena and so he was released.
Sorry for all the imcomplete details. I am in a hurry and I cannot recollect more than this.

I think this way. Dunno if it is the right way to think but...in Satya yug, the number of bad guys was not many. One really bad guy cropped up and Vishnu had to come just to finish this guy off. This happened a few times in Satya yug. There was no world annihilation, I think. In Treta yug, the wars with the bad guys was a little bit bigger but still no annihilation. In Dwapara yug, the Mahabharat war came close to annihilation (with so many people being wiped out in the war) but the world was not totally killed off.
In the Kali yug, the whole world is gonna be wiped out to start Satya yug again. Also, Kalki is supposed to arrive only when the majority of the world turns bad. This means not only rakshas but the common man himself will become rakshas like with bad tendencies. So, Vishnu waits until the end (until the world goes really bad) and then finishes it off with just one avatar. More efficient actually!
Somehow, I tend to count Balarama as a part of the Krishna avatar (just as LBS are part of the Rama avatar), since the puran in question has 2 hairs plucked out of Vishnu, and Balarama being the white (grey) hair, and Krishna being the black hair. That may also explain why Balarama was the older of the 2.
Buddha, afaik, was born just as Kaliyug was starting, but after Dwapar yuga ended. So Parikshit, Vajra, Janamejaya - all these descendants of the Pandavas and Krishna ruled in Kaliyug? If one discounts Buddha but counts Mohini, you have 5 avatars in the Satyayug, and only 1 in Dwapar Yuga. But it still begs the question as to which yuga Buddha would be counted as? (Also, if Sita & Rukmini were Lakshmi for Rama & Krishna, then was Yashoda Lakshmi for Siddhartha?)
I agree with Khalrika's analysis, particularly for the efficiency factor😆😆 (does this imply that Vishnu too has a learning curve? 😕😕) Whereas for Ravan/Kumbhakarna and Kamsa/Shishupala/Dantavakra, only one avatar was needed for both Jaya and Vijaya in each yuga, Vishnu took 2 avatars to take care of Hiranyaksha and Hiranyakashipu. Couldn't Vahara have taken out both of them? What exactly was the divine reason that Hiranyakashipu had to be spared?😕
And Satya yuga will re-start, or will it be another yuga? Also, is Kalki supposed to wipe out everybody, or just the bad guys? And isn't that supposed to be a kshatriya role, rather than a brahmin role?🤔🤔🤔

Thanks. I quoted this thread and the response in the Shiva-Sati thread, since it's still a sticky 😆
