Kapil and Anjali Jodi No 5:

Anjali is 17 yrs old and is from Jammu. She is very emotional, introvert and reserved. Whilst, Kapil has his roots from Jaipur. He is a very simple person and is extremely moody. Anjali doesn't like spending her time with too many people instead she'd rather be with her close friends. She is very patient but has rare occasions where she has an outburst. He and Anjali both are very spiritual and religious.

Anjali and Kapil met on the sets of Raaja Ki Aayegi Baraat. Its been 3 months since they have been seeing each other.Kapil proposed to her by giving her a red rose even though, they've never gone out for a date. Anjali has never surprised Kapil but admits that she'd love to one day.

Strangely, neither of them is dominating. Both are practical and sensible which is why they never fight. According to Anjali the one thing that she loves about Kapil is that he moulds himself for her. And she likes the fact that Kapil really loves her!

PANAJI: Since a fortnight, the Mandrekar household in Bicholim has been suffering from a bout of 'TV cramps' and 'soapsomnia' as the hours pass

between 8.30 pm and 11 pm. The family's plethora of favourite soap operas is off air and the re-runs being aired in their place are unable to provide the emotional high of the regular tearjerkers, causing the 'serial' withdrawal syndrome.

"We switch between channels, watching some soap re-run or the other," sighs Bindiya Mandrekar. The latest twist in the family's favourite soap Raja Ki Aayegi Barat is sorely missed. Bindiya admits, "Everyone complains that the programmes have gone on forever, but we cannot do without them."
In Margao, Shantha Dhumatkar says the re-runs have left her feeling "lonely". "I look forward to the programmes throughout my day. These days I feel as if some person close to me is missing," says the 60-year-old.

Since early October, TV producers and workers have been at loggerheads over the issue of the latter's payments and working conditions. This has led to a series of strikes which in turn has forced channels to air re-runs of serials as they wait for an agreement to be reached between the two.

For the viewer in Goa, the daily quota of emotional excitement is missing.

"I get terribly bored now. The episodes are interesting only when they are watched the first time, once you know what has happened there is no point watching it again. Only comic scenes can be re-watched," says Porvorim-resident Reshma Kudalkar.

Kanica gets to wear Aishwariya Rai's clothes!

Kanica Maheshwari who debuted with 'Kabhi Aaye na Judai' and did shows like 'Lipstick', 'Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki', 'Yahi Toh Hai Who', 'India Calling', 'Piya Ka Ghar', 'Virasaat', 'Sindoor Tere Naam Ka', 'Doli Saja Ke', 'FIR', 'Yes Boss', 'Jamegi Jodi Dotcom', 'Anu Ki Ho Gayi Wah Bhai Wah' and 'Saath Saath' is currently seen playing Rajkumari Bhoomi in 'Raja Ki Aayegi Barat'. She got to wear a few of the costumes worn by Aishwariya Rai in 'Jodhaa Akbar', which were designed by Neetha Lulla. The clothes come from Neeta Lulla's office.

We got in touch with her to know more about the experience. "I am privileged to wear the costumes worn by Aishwariya Rai Bachchan," she said. "She is a beautiful woman and not just because of that but even the movie 'Jodhaa Akbar' is a memorable one. The costumes used are truly very beautiful and not every actress gets a chance like this. Such things are hardly done on TV and I consider myself quite lucky to experience this."

Kanica continued: "When I first got to know that the costumes were used by Aishwariya, I was like 'wow'…that was my whole reaction and I felt really nice. The costumes are great and I really could not believe it. It is a wonderful experience for me."

She added: "The idea behind using those costumes was just to show something different. It was to give a royal feel. I wear some very unique costumes in the show with special earrings and bangles. Costumes play an important part in such shows and it is important to present the right aura of a Rajkumari."

She concluded: "It was a great feeling overall and the only discomfort was that the costumes were too heavy. But that didn't matter much and everything went off well. I have worked very hard by giving special time to work on this. It is sure to be a treat for the audience and I hope they watch and like it."

All said and done, it sure does seem like a good way to boost the TRPs. What say folks?
